They won’t fall out
it’ll be great. The only negative I can remember is that the trays get a bit gross after 2 weeks and you just have to be really on top of tooth brushing. But the results are so great. I had over 50 trays so I went for the long haul
I've nearly finished tray 11 out of 15 and the gap has completely closed at the top of the teeth but I currently have quite a big triangle gap at the bottom toward the gum line. You can't see the gap when I smile though and I'm smiling considerably more and in a more normal way than before. I've even happily smiled for photos which I haven't done for years!@TwooTwooTwitTwitTwoo How are you getting on with your removed tooth now?
I explored every possible option to not have one taken out - a front tooth anyway - asking around at different practices, seeing if they could take out 4 back premolars instead, but nope! Due to the shape of my jaw and how thin my gum tissue is none of them were having it. Then I just kinda gave up, as that versus the time (1.5 years minimum) and price (£4.5k) was too much. I can't get it out of my mind though so I'm now thinking I will take the plunge!! How has it been having a missing tooth for you? Worth it I hope!?
It gets so much better, i almost felt like i was Fighting for my life when i had to take them out to eat. Ive had barely any pain at all after the first week!
my teeth and gums are so sore. I’ve ordered some of those aligner removers to see if that helps. I feel like i’m going to pull them off my teeth, too!
I changed to my second one last night and I feel like it's a real milestone, daft as that may sound. It felt like a really long two weeks!
So I’ve done both to different degrees - I had 2+ years of fixed braces as a teenager as my teeth were BAD (I had 4 removed due to overcrowding!), I then had 2 wisdom teeth in adulthood that caused super minor overcrowding on the top left side, so had 12 weeks of Invisalign to fix it.
You take Invisalign out to eat, just have to clean your teeth afterwards!thank you! Yeah the eating thing is weird.. I can’t imagine eating with a cover over your teeth?!
I’ve booked an Invisalign consultation for the start of January so will be interesting to see what they say...
I had six month smiles and finished about 5 months ago. It was hard, but best thing I’ve ever done! Stock up on painkillers, bonjela and dental wax. Itll be hard at first but it’s so worth it, honestly!Getting my fixed ceramic braces fitted on Wednesday and I'm excited but mostly anxious lol.I just got the call on Friday so I wasn't prepared for it to be so soon. Last week they moved my June appointment to August because of some mix up and I was insistent that they should at least contact me in case of a cancellation. I'm also worried because I'll probably have to call in sick the next day and I have a family wedding to attend to over the weekend

Trust the process! It gets so much easier and you get used to brushing your teeth all the time haha
Luckily my friend pre-warned me so I mentioned it at the start of my app as I wouldn’t have thought to otherwise! My dentist was actually a bit put out that that was the first I’d informed them about it (even though I didn’t know I was pregnant at my last appointment!). I think you can technically have the bonding done if you’re preg but you’re meant to have the whitening beforehand. You can’t have whitening done if you’re breast feeding either, so just something to bear in mind too!!Wait what!!I’m due mine off soon but I’m very early preggers.. Nope. I see my dentist every 3/4 weeks for scans so that’s how we know my teeth are tracking. It seems that yours haven’t been if they’re different from the simulation? I’d hope the dentist would raise it to be honest rather than you needing to. If you have a written treatment plan you should see in that how many refinements are included in the initial cost.So I was meant to see my dentist last week but he had to cancel because he had covid. I rang to reschedule and I asked what would happen as I’m on my last aligner. The receptionist spoke to someone else and said to send my photos as usual on a Tuesday and the girl will tell what to do. I was like, ok
Do you not send yours photos weekly so they can see if everything is on track and move on the next aligner?
Surely I just keep wearing it until I’m back in the practice because they’ll move?!! Yes, bottom teeth were straight in my simulation of what they would look like. I’ve only seen the dentist once (not including when I had them fitted) and that was halfway through my treatment and he filed some more teeth and said everything was ok (it’s a 14 week treatment).
no the bonding isn’t obvious at all, in fact I’ve had two dentists in disbelief that it’s not real tooth. Whenever I tell someone it’s bonding they’re surprised - it doesn’t look like Love Island girls or anything. It’s definitely worth going somewhere good and paying a little more. Tbh the only reason it broke off was because I bit really hard into something I shouldn’t have been (opening a plastic carton) and then I picked it but I had it redone 2 years ago and it’s been fine since!When I got the bond redone I had a little edging too on the surrounding teeth, I’m honestly obsessed, they look ‘perfect natural’ if that makes sense? I always get complimented on my teeth but everyone also thinks they’re completely real, it’s the dream
This will take my Invisalign treatment to 11 months! Hopefully they’ll be done and whitened before Christmas, then just need bonding in the new year!Have you tried running a nail file over the rough edges?Through the night, I’ve taken out my bottom aligners and slept with them under my pillow
I drink coffee with mine in. I usually have 2-3 coffees a day and realised I was leaving my trays out for far too long. Just make sure you clean them properly. I'm almost a month in and mine are fine!
I did think it was a massive difference but that's what it says! Might be worth a consultation to look into it further in that case
if it's only a matter of £500 I'd def be going invisalign!
