I know!! I can’t believe it. I feel bad for all the people who paid and are halfway through treatment etc.

My dentist just told me I need another 6 months of invisalign, for my first round of refinements, I’m buzzing 😂 I don’t even know what they’re doing at this point because my teeth look perfect, but they must be doing something to the teeth at the back, behind the scenes 😎 either way I’m super happy
Omg same! I’ve just done 20 trays - so happy with the results- dentist says they’re 95% there but no I need 17 more trays to do “finishing touches” 🤯 feels like a bit of a kick in teeth as I’ll be honest I don’t enjoy the process and do just want the end result (whitening & composite) but I’ve come too far to only come this far (& with what I’ve paid might as well get more for my money lol)

i had braces in my teens and some of the teeth have moved a little awkwardly so I’ve been having a look around too - I’m torn between invisa and the invisible braces as having had standard braces before I feel like I wouldn’t need the invisible ones for too long... But it’s so expensive!

Don’t worry you won’t be it’s just coz I where I live everything kind of shuts down in August for summer holidays so it took ages to arrive 🤣, plus I went on holiday myself, but if you’re in the UK then I’m sure they won’t take longer than a week or so! It’s a horrible wait with the old retainer though either way 😭
Oh no that's such annoying timing for you 😂 yeah it feels so manky! Hopefully I'll get a call soon to say my new ones have arrived 😬

I have my last appt on 5th Oct but i have one super stubborn tooth that won't move so im going to need refinements. Cba for this to happen to me 😭
Fingers crossed for you! I've seen some people say their ortho ordered them a couple of spares of their final set to wear before refinements come in - maybe you'll be lucky!

I had Invisalign, best money I’ve ever spent! I had braces as a teen but didn’t wear my retainers (so annoying, when I have kids I will be SO strict with them about this!!)

I had whitening done afterwards and had a fixed retainer.

I was very strict with the trays, I know some people who rarely wear them/ lose them snd it’s taken ages. Be strict and you will see results!

yes, it’s sore. I had pain whenever I removed them as they were tight! I kind of liked it though as I felt like they were moving when they hurt 🙈

@Scorpihoe I found some dentists really do push Invisalign 😬 no the bonding isn’t obvious at all, in fact I’ve had two dentists in disbelief that it’s not real tooth. Whenever I tell someone it’s bonding they’re surprised - it doesn’t look like Love Island girls or anything. It’s definitely worth going somewhere good and paying a little more. Tbh the only reason it broke off was because I bit really hard into something I shouldn’t have been (opening a plastic carton) and then I picked it 😂 but I had it redone 2 years ago and it’s been fine since!

When I got the bond redone I had a little edging too on the surrounding teeth, I’m honestly obsessed, they look ‘perfect natural’ if that makes sense? I always get complimented on my teeth but everyone also thinks they’re completely real, it’s the dream 😂
Omg yes it makes perfect sense 👌🏽 I just want to look natural, but also like I hit the genetic fecking lottery in the smile department 🤩 This is what my chosen dentist does, she’s cosmetic only and I’m paying more for her work because it’s wow. Worth it in my opinion, I trust her completely.

Had my attachments put onto my teeth yesterday after 2 months and they are awful!!! It feels like i’m pulling my teeth out when I take my aligner out and actually dread doing it 😩 my teeth and gums are so sore. I’ve ordered some of those aligner removers to see if that helps. I feel like i’m going to pull them off my teeth, too!
Had spacing done too and that wasn’t half as bad as them fitting the attachments!!
I felt this exact way for the first week or so, was in tears every single time I had to remove them! I know it’s a cliche but you will become so adjusted quickly, it’ll be second nature in a week or so.

I haven’t had this but I’m seriously considering Invisalign. I want me wisdom teeth removed first though before I consider anything. My dentist are being arseholes though and won’t remove them as they aren’t impacted. Driving me mad because I feel like I have too many teeth in my now

Just got my invisalign fitted today! Wish I ate dinner before it cuz I’m starving already 😂 the sensation is very weird, but I’m adjusting quickly 🙂 do you guys use the chewies things? I’m scared I’m gonna swallow it 🤣
I loved the feeling of the chewy. Biting down to make sure they’re on super tight. I was told to use them as much as possible!

I only wear mine at night. It’s a much longer process but I’m ok with that. I found I was lisping and dribbling while trying to speak.

I have 14 trays in total so 30 weeks give or take. one of the first thing i queried about was a fixed retainer, i definitely would try to get one! It's really bizarre they said you won't need it
I mean, if it’s included In what I have paid, I should get a fixed one 😂 I did ask if I’d get both at the beginning of my treatment and I was told it would be visible through the black triangles I now have in between my teeth. But some of them have closed up and I’m getting bonding to fill in the spaces…. So I don’t see why I can’t have a fixed one.

I got my invisalign fitted yesterday. They are mostly ok, but the pain of taking them off is horrific. Please tell me it gets better 😭
It gets better I promise!! I'm on day 7 now and I was where you are but now it's just annoying rather than painful.

Has anyone done this with crowned tooth? Just wondering if it’s possible? (I know I should speak to my dentist and/or a dentist that works with Invisalign 🙃)
Just found this thread, but I have crowns on my front two teeth and I’ve been able to go ahead with Invisalign 😊 I’ve been told that mine is a bit more expensive than the average even though I don’t have much crowding but because of the complexity due to the crowns - i have the fear they will fall out every time I take the retainers out but I’ve come to realise they are a lot stronger than I give them credit for! I also don’t have the little bumps fixed to the crowns, but do on the teeth around them

Good luck with your first couple of weeks! Does it hurt? I'm getting mine next month and keep trying to talk myself out of it ,😅

Thank you! I've had 2 meltdowns already but reassuring to know that it will get easier!
It definitely does. I used to end up in floods of tears with the first couple of aligners because I was terrified I was going to accidentally pull my teeth. Now can pop them out really quickly, on the go, without a mirror. Hang in there. It'll be worth it!

Did you have any staining with this? I’ve been sticking to clear alcoholic beverages 😅
No nothing very noticeable. I also would have a coffee or two during the day and nothing too bad. By the end I was changing them quite regularly so it didn’t matter that much and used lots of retainer brite to keep them clean

Can anyone offer advice?
I’m looking into Invisalign seriously and today I’ve phoned around 4 platinum profiles on the website for my local area and each one gave me a different answer.

First one said it’s £40 for a tooth check up first to make sure there’s no bone issues

Second one told me it’s a free consultation by zoom and then I go in to meet them

Third one is £100 for a first consultation and then we go from there

And forth one told me that the particular orthodontist I was after, doesn’t do Invisalign despite being on the bloody website.

Tbh, I got the best feel out the £100 one as after doing research on him, he’s been doing orthodontics since 1995. The others just look like they are straight off an advert for Instagram.

help!
Definitely go for the £100 one. They’ll do a full assessment and give you all your options

I've had attachments a couple of days and oh my life I HATE THEM! My smile is ugly af and they hurt and are so hard to take out and put back in. I had filing on some of my teeth too so my mouth is killing!
I'm going back in a few months and apparently my teeth should be in their final position by then - I didn't realise it'd be so fast! Ortho said she'd like to do some more filing then to make them more symmetrical but to be honest I'm not fussed, especially if I'd have to keep the attachments on longer for refinements 😰
I hated mine for the first week too but now I pass no remarks at all! Honestly it will fly in, just give it time to settle and time for you to get used to removing/putting them back on… you will be flying in no time! I’m on to my 5th aligner on Friday

Well my teeth didn't get any less wonky 😩 had an appointment today and she seemed to expect they'd be done and I'd be happy with them, not bloody likely! It's the bottom front 4 that are the issue - they were perfect but then she said she could make the whole bottom more even, but that's knocked the 4 of them out so 1 is higher, 2 is lower, 3 is higher, 4 is lower - I have to wait for my next set of refinement trays to come in but might have to have more attachments 😭

@judgejohndeed yes! And I find it so awkward to say no so I usually just go along with whatever they say 😂 it’s good to hear it looks natural and lasts so long! I’ll definitely look into it more and book some consultations ☺

Thanks so much!!
