Clarkson had a Top Gear moment with his Tractor comparisons. :ROFLMAO:
When he said he was going to test them with one test, I did assume he was gonna do a drag race. 😂😂

But he must be learning something. Because when he tried farming on Top Gear, he just resorted to sticking dynamite in the ground and blowing the field up. 😂😂

Wow I really disliked Kaleb this season so far. The tour looks absolutely dire then combine that with his terrible attitude when he came back. Not sure if that was real or if he was doing some terrible acting under the instructions of producers but either way, all it did was make him look bad. Would have been so much better if he had come back and had a laugh and a joke about "the new kaleb" instead of a strop. What did he want Clarkson to do? Struggle on his own for however long he was away for
I liked Clarksons reaction to Kaleb and his rock star attitude though, he was telling Kaleb, how hard it can be at times after everyone is making a big fuss of you on stage etc, to then come back down to reality, and likened it to bleep flu.....
It was almost an apology from Jeremy about certain past events where he has behaved a bit too much like an entitled rock star!!!

And people say Clarkson hasn't progressed or grown :ROFLMAO:

I know some of it must be set up slightly, but I love seeing the Farming parts of the show. The pigs are fascinating as is the business of farming and how difficult it is.

Harriet was great fun, but how on earth did she get a brand new range rover to drive away in, when she left, what on earth did that cost ?

I think Kaleb is being set up a lot on the show, as a comedy sidekick, ..... but he must be a pretty decent farmer though, if he has been promoted to being Jeremy's farm manager. When it comes to drilling a field, He knows what he is doing!

I live in a farming area and all the farmers round here all drive big expensive range rovers.

Im curious about where the pub is, I think Ive worked it out....it is the pub they find off the A40, with the dodgy picnic area.

But I am loving the rebranding, The Farmers Dog, With the picture of either Arya or Sansa looking noble, beautiful looking dogs.

Maybe, but then how can they plead poverty?
Asset rich, cash poor?

In harriets case she won't ever have a mortgage to pay if she lives on the family farm so her income will be mostly expendable.

The farm up the road from me has basically 4 houses as part of it and the extended family all live there. Combined with a couple of them working outside of farming and most of the costs being business expenses they must be doing ok.

Harriet’s car is only actually worth about 6 grand! Also she’s a full time nurse as well as farmer.

Well, it was a '14 plate range rover, so not brand new.

I don’t think farmers are saying they can’t afford to feed themselves or buy a car, but that their income is precariously based on rapidly changing environmental factors and ever increasing costs of things they need to produce food like fuel and fertiliser. The future of farming needs to be more sustainable because no farmers = no food.

Anyway a four wheel drive on a farm is a legitimate business expense.

Jeremy sticks with his 57 plate Range Rover too. They're much better than the newer ones anyway. Fur coat and no knickers the new ones. Terrible reliability.

I was genuinely surprised at the cost of a tractor.

And poverty and farming is a relative thing. I completely agree we need farmers, and we need to buy a lot more British produce. And that farmers need to be paid appropriately and encouraged.

Its just confusing to see and hear farmers complaining and demonstrating about farming poverty, and then be driving around in expensive cars! It doesnt quite match!

Ahh thats where I got it wrong, we thought it said 24!!

However, I still think its an expensive car..... for a girl in her 20s?? to be driving!
It's really not. I can't think of anyone in their 20s that I know of who drives round in a car that's worth less than £5k or £6k. Regardless, she comes from a farming background, she's hardly going to be poor. All the farmers I know had relatively flashing 4x4s from the minute they passed their tests.

The issue they’re highlighting isn’t individual farmers poverty, it’s what incentive is there for farmers when they get no time off and it’s getting harder and harder to make money from the farm. The net result will be them selling their land to housing developers which will then affect our food supplies.

I thought it was interesting that the sponsor was Morrisons this season (has it always been I can't remember?) given a huge part of the problem is the supermarkets and their pricing

That's a new thing. Morrisons does shout a lot about backing British farming and produce. And has always historically been very good in that regard.

Still tit on prices etc. but Sir Ken's company did back British produce. The company it is these days, less so in the clutches of awful American private equity. But still probably towards the least worst end of the scale.
