Her latest insta caption: “Haven’t posted in a while with Zac so here’s proof he hasn’t called off the engagement yet.” I get she’s trying to make a joke but she keeps making remarks like this in her vlogs and it’s adding up. Even when they were dating she kept saying “I can’t believe you haven’t broken up with me yet.”

she must be very insecure that she feels that way. And proof that she’s way more into Zac than he’s into her?

So thirty minutes of Clancy complaining about having TWO WEEKS OF PAID VACATION? My looooord.

ETA: (because I have to watch the vlogs in bits and pieces for my sanity sometimes). Clancy being like “omg, I said February is my least favourite month and a coworker said it was offensive because it’s black history month!!!” came off as so victim-y. Damn. Maybe don’t say stuff like that…? You’d think a news reporter of all people would know about BHM. Talk about tone deaf.

This does not surprise me, she was calling things 'ghetto' for years before being pulled up on it in her comment section. In the most recent vlog she said 'you would think I grew up poor' before the damage limitation line 'not that there is anything wrong with that'. As you said completely tone deaf!

Yeah that is very bizarre & totally out of character for her to not get dressed up for her dinner with her parents...didn't her and Zac say they both kind of knew when the proposal was going to happen?? I find her whole situation so weird and bizarre just straight up contradictory with her words/actions. I also don't know of any biological fathers who act that way towards their daughters, let alone daughters with their dads...I get she is older now but their vibe is very stepdaughter/stepdad-ish. I love her relationship with her mum tho.

Its kind of surprising how insecure she is considering how perfect she likes to act all the time..I wouldn't say something like 'can't believe you haven't broken up with me yet' if I had a bf. That's just speaking as if you really will break up eventually. Does anyone even know anything about Zac? His whole deal comes off shady..

They are certainly an odd couple. Clancy mentioned when she was younger she doesn't have a type but that her partner would need to be intelligent/interested/able to discuss current issues. I don't see that in Zac unless she meant the latest reality trash tv dating show.

I guess its frighteningly true those who act all uppity perfect have many cracks beneath the surface, I looked up to her so much while she was in college because she seemed like a straight A student and even though I'm a bit older than her I still found her inspirational. I just realise now how much hard knocks can shape you into the person you become and not comparing yourself to someone else..

As for Zac he really doesn't seem the type to sit around discussing the current events happening around the world, I think Clancy just has textbook expectations of a lot of things because she has really never had any true life experiences to base anything on..

Wow the whole "doing my makeup bad on purpose" Saturday vlog was just stupid. It almost seemed a bit... scripted? Zac's reaction wasn't that surprised when she told him it was a prank. If it is real, then Zac is completely whipped! He kept saying: "I'm so sorry dear. I didn't mean to upset you honey. Please don't yell at me dear." It obviously goes to show that he is scared of her and she definitely flies off the handle at him often.

Geez dosen't she have anything better to do on her days off? Also I'm so TIRED of seeing Zac either shirtless or wearing a button down with boxers while he works from home. Granted, Clancy sticks a camera in his face but no one wants to see that.

Also-- from Wednesday's "work week" Vlog I was interested to hear more of the story where Zac said, recently a girl hit on him at the bar (Clancy was not there). And he had to tell her he was engaged. Surprised, he hasn't run off by now...

The makeup video was PAINFUL. He didn’t even talk about the rest of her face — just the winged eyeliner. Which Clancy knew from the start. So really all he said was “I’m not a fan of the eyeliner” and she went off of him, lol.

It really shows how they fight though. Zac easily shuts down and goes quiet. Judging by the way he spoke, Clancy probably raises her voice thinking that gets her point across. It just…I don’t know. Painful. That’s the only word that comes to mind.

I just found this forum, and I enjoy watching Clancy but I have this theory that I feel is so obvious si I’m wondering if I’m the only one who can see it coming!!

She has to be quitting her TV news job soon and doing YouTube fulltime/ becoming an influencer. She has mentioned several times but things are coming and the PTO she was taking is probably just her using her vacation before quitting in April!

She also just posted that soon all her work dresses will be for sale on Poshmark… She also showed on her to do list that she needs to get health insurance, and do a photo shoot, and get a new iPhone. It all seems to add up!! Maybe they’re gonna move too?

Anyone else notice these things? It’s clear she doesn’t really like her job any more.

I can’t see her going to full-time influencing. I think she loves her career too much.

All of that stuff could be explained away (she’s coming to the end of her phone contract, it’s getting warmer so she is buying lighter outfits…).

If anything, maybe she has a new role somewhere else. Perhaps there’s a wardrobe budget that explains the selling of clothes etc.

Time will tell.

Her whole YouTube is based off being on the news. I seriously hope she doesn't quit and is just moving.

She worked hard for that role (well, sort of) I'm sure her mum had a hand in helping her start off in Journalism,

So I don't think she'll quit, but it is weird to sell all of your work clothes out of the blue..

could she be doing behind the scenes? I can't see her opting out of being in the spotlight, what would they do for money? Youtube surely can't be reliable...

^^^^ vlogwatcher33 you have a good point! I didn't even put two and two together but I think you are on to something.

I actually started watching Clancy because I was a former TV news reporter. Like me, there are a TON of other people leaving the business. There are many articles online if you search the "great resignation of TV news." It's an industry where you're severely overworked/underpaid and it is not a very family friend career (which I'm sure that's something she wants someday). Also, TV news reporters sign a two-year contract, and once that's up, it's time to move again! It makes it so hard to get settled in one area.

Getting up at 1 am every day sucks. If they have kids one day, it's going to be very tricky. There are a lot of journalists who are going into Public Relations for better work-life balance. That's what I did!

I guess time will tell. But with her 2-year contract ending in April, selling work dresses, etc. makes me very suspicious!

^^ Also, to HairyBerries point I think her mom DEFINITELY had a hand in helping her start off in Journalism.

What Clancy never talks about is how she is beyond privileged that she started off in Dayton. For reference, there are about 210 TV news markets in America with New York being #1 and Glendive, MT is 210. Cincinnati is 36. Dayton is 64 and usually, all on-air TV reporters fresh out of college start off in at LEAST market 100 or higher! Making $24k a year. No joke!

So she basically climbed her way to the top, without earning her chops. Also, she had a photographer in Dayton which is unheard of for your first TV market! I lugged a 30 lb camera around for my first TV gig making no money! I was a multimedia journalist or "MMJ" so I was the reporter, photographer, producer all in one! Like the girl Clancy showed getting hit by a car on live, TV, "Tori Yorgey" – basically every newbie is sent out solo to run their own live shot.

I wish she addressed how lucky she is, to start off in Dayton...

It's good to get an insiders perspective. The one thing I can't work out is why book the wedding venue locally if planning to move? I have to say if she becomes a full time influencer I'll be unsubbing as that last video was painful enough and that’s without being subjected to a load of ads. Also Zac has no personality!

This is such an interesting and insightful post! Thank you.

If you had to guess, how much would you say that Clancy is making a year?

It makes me sad too because I really do think her news content is interesting and the fact that she has a “normal” job makes her much more relatable than a lot of influencers I follow! But I would bet big money she’s leaving, like her friend Gaby from Dayton who only has 6500 IG followers but quit reporting to influence full time. Should be interesting to see what happens, considering Clancy has said she hates when people push brand deals in their videos… but she probably makes enough from YT to cancel out her local 12 income?? I am curious how much she is making in that market!

^^ RJF I would estimate she is making anywhere between $50,000 -$60,000 and that’s pretty accurate because I am in a Facebook group of all TV news women in the nation and there is an anonymous google doc where lots of reporters inputted their salaries by city. So that was the range I found when searching for Cincinnati!

TV news pretty much pays terrible unless you are in NYC! that’s why a lot of people are quitting the biz. They’re realizing they can get a higher paying job that’s 9-5 with holidays off!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Clancy is concocting up some full time YouTube gig or some other project.

I dislike when people say blah blah is underpaid... Almost every job in America doesn't pay enough and it sucks even more if you're single. Hence the rise of "side hustles" in America. It will likely get worse with the Ukraine war causing gas prices to go up and the food shortage.

With all that said Clancy doesn't really have a HUGE following and it would be basically insane for her to quit her job currently.
I think they're moving and/or found a house or plan too after their marriage is official. She's kind of boring and doesn't have anything going outside of her news job. What would her vlogs be if she quit? Sweet potato with tuna and a run??

I can’t see her leaving a steady job for influencing. It doesn’t make sense from a numbers standpoint — she has almost 500k followers, but rarely clears 50k views per video. Those are pretty dim stats if companies were to look at that for sponsorships.

Don’t know what else she would do though. Join a different station? Why? I can’t logically think of any reason to.
