Presents from the rest of the family tomorrow!
Do you celebrate Christmas..?I’m not a fan of Christmas cards either, particularly religious ones because everyone who knows me knows I’m not religious. Then the hassle of people expecting cards in return and I just can’t![]()
To be fair, I sometimes regift items. Not to be mean financially because I’d rather it goes to someone who needs or will use it and it stops waste. Either that or I give it to the charity shop.I had a friend who I spent both a lot of time and money on her birthday with lots of things that she liked in there. Then I went on holiday later that year, brought her back a few things that again I spent a lot of time and money on.
About a month before Christmas she was talking about her 12 year old niece having her bag stolen at a school thing and how upset she was, she gave so many details I realised it was one I had given her. It clicked something in my head and I realised she had been using the gifts I bought her to give to her family for birthdays, mothers day etc.
Come time to go shopping for that Christmas I grabbed the first pair of pjs in her size that were under 20 quid and called it a day. Only so many times I was willing to finance her gift buying for a year.
Same here. We move in a week and I’m already planning what toys are being donated!Daughter has been given a toy by her grandma which she already bought for her for her birthday in September.. how the duck do you not realise at point of buying or wrapping that it looks familiar?! Only 3 grandchildren and daughter is the only girl so she can’t be getting confused surely?
I genuinely feel overwhelmed. The children have been given so much (very kind and all) but I physically can’t fit it in my house.
I stopped doing work secret Santa a long time ago, it is so wasteful.Just got my secret santa gift from work, two bath fizzers that look like there out of the poundshopbudget was £10, never doing it again
Is that not normal? lol. I always reuse gift bags, as does all my familyI have a confession to make. Every Christmas my partner will ask for a dvd of some kind, which is fine. But for the past three years, I have used the same gift bag for every dvd, he has received. I save the bag every year, probably will after this Christmas.![]()
My BIL got a steam mop from his wifeMy friend got a diet cookbook to lose weight from her boyfriend![]()
No I totally get you. I do the same and because you know they won’t stick to it you end up buying them something that you also know they don’t need or want, that was also a nightmare to buy!The Thing that annoys me is every year I categorically say I do not want any gifts. Yet I almost always receive at least one, and it's a shower set or something. No offence, but it's pointless waste of money for that person as i could buy it myself If I wanted, but I don't because I don't want to hahaI know I sound like a right ungrateful sod, but I do keep saying I do not want anything. I end up giving any gifts away as I never use them. I don't really use fragrances or shower gel. I mostly use soap and some underarm roll on.
