So close the thread off now? As you’ve decided what you’re doing and don’t want any more advice?I'm going to get him myself and take my babies with me.
And take him back to his care home when your kids are in bed.So close the thread off now? As you’ve decided what you’re doing and don’t want any more advice?
also surely you’re kids will be up mega early and will need a pre dinner nap so the car journey is perfect for that and then you’re not missing out on any time with them
Haven’t you got any friends you can ask and who obviously know you and your situation rather than asking strangers?Thank you for everyone's advice. I know I've not replied but mostly everyone and most have said I'm selfish and spoilt. I'm not spoilt at all. Sometimes people are just asking for advice
But you also have to accept when you ask that people will give their opinion, I didn’t call your selfish but you must have thought some one would?Thank you for everyone's advice. I know I've not replied but mostly everyone and most have said I'm selfish and spoilt. I'm not spoilt at all. Sometimes people are just asking for advice
You wanted people's opinions on whether you were being selfish but I think that you hoped to be told that you weren't and that it was more important to spend every waking moment with your young children?I need advice please...
My dad has just gone into a care home. It's 40 mins away from where I live. I'm hosting Christmas this year. I've got two little ones, my youngest is 1. Am I being selfish because I don't want to be driving nearly a hour on Christmas day to bring my Dad over for Christmas dinner then driving nearly an hour back to take him home. I don't want to miss out on 2 hours on Christmas day with my babies. Any advice will be helpful
My thoughts exactly. OP - don't you think it's better for them to be at home, comfortable playing with their new toys, rather than dragging them on that 3 hour round drive that you moaned about? Imagine one got upset during one of the journeys and was crying, seems to me just sucking it up, taking your dad there & back on your own - is the option i would go for. Drop him not long after dinner & you'll be back for the evening - keep them up an hour later if you're that hell bent on not missing any time with them? Not the end of the world is itWhat if they don't want to come with you in the car and want to stay at home with their dad? Do they have a choice?
Go back and re-read the first page of the thread that you started. There was a lot of empathy and good advice that you didn't respond to. Enjoy your Christmas with your two children, your husband and your Dad.Thank you for everyone's advice. I know I've not replied but mostly everyone and most have said I'm selfish and spoilt. Why can't you enjoy Christmas day if your in boxing day? I also am but it won't make any difference to Christmas day. I'd also rather know I've got Christmas day off every year even if it means I might have to work boxing dayI hate that I can't enjoy Christmas day because I'm working boxing day. Why should shops be open boxing day they really shouldn't it feels wrong to rinse people of money just after Christmas because they need a towel set that has a reindeer on it reduced to 50p
Because I have to sleep early for it can't properly enjoy knowing I have to wash dry sort my uniform go to the garage Christmas day to get my meal for the next dayWhy can't you enjoy Christmas day if your in boxing day?
