Definitely the lights. Me and my friend did the same last year and walked through seven dials, the lights were magical and it was a lot quieter than Oxford street!. Absolute magic

Has anyone seen Xmas Nat on TikTok? I love her posts but I can’t get my head around the fact she has her tree up and all her decor all year round? Shes on live every day listening to Christmas music. Her kids must be so confused.
Yes I’ve seen her, too much for me being honest. How can you look forward to it when it’s there every day?
I know! Me too! I’m happy to start talking and discussing and buying presents in July but actual decor, music, outings and pyjamas surely needs to wait for the real thing.

I’ve seen loads of TikTok’s of girls buying stuff every week and putting it in boxes for Christmas. Instead of doing a big Christmas shop. Yous might like them. I prefer to do the Christmas savings club at Tesco and do a tin for M&S. Buy it all in one big shop and think, I got this for free when I know I didn’t, but feels like it. Edited to add, not the Welsh woman. She repeats her introduction every week and it’s too long and boring.

I couldn’t have tins of heroes and nice biscuits laying around for months. They’d be in my belly. I actually have to buy everyone peanut chocolate for Christmas because I’m allergic and it stops me eating it

Ordered LO a Needoh advent calendar. A little decadent but I got all his Dec 1 box stuff 75% in December including an elf trick pack so under budget! He is only little once so I make the most of the magic

As today is the 25th - Merry Christmas in July to all who celebrate
I’ve been busy-bee organising my December. So far we have 5 days in Edinburgh (I live in Ireland for reference) for the market and festivities, and my snobby foodie husband will book us some lovely dinners. And we’re staying at the Caledonian which should be all decked out for Xmas!
Then my sister and I are going to London for a couple of days. We’ve booked a 3-course Victorian immersive Christmas dinner where you dress as a Victorian and have an authentic Victorian Xmas dinner amongst an interactive performance of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. We’re also going to see The Cursed Child — we’re both lifelong potterheads so it’s mad we’ve never seen it! — and a bit of Christmas shopping around town.
After that it’s up to Dublin for the annual big panto and the day at Elf Town for the little one, meet Santa etc. We stay overnight and also get a nice festive dinner.
And then I’m taking my little one back to London for Hogwarts in the Snow and some festive fun in central.
I also live in the town in Ireland that puts on Winterval every year, which is a big month long Christmas festival full of events and festivities across the whole town. Always loads to do.
Absolutely buzzing and can’t wait!! I think this is our last year of the youngest believing in Santa and Christmas magic, and my oldest is 20 now and cba with any of it anymore, so I need to make the most of it while I still can.

I don’t think the just walking through the market etc part of it is worth it. But if you book in some of the events then you could build yourself a great festive itinerary for sure. Obviously I live here so I have the entire length of the festival to play with. I’m not sure how it would work with a day trip etc.

Thank you for letting me know. I'll have a look at the events and see if it's feasible. My family are from Cork so it's easy to just get stuck there but, given my long-term plans involve moving back, it's best to explore more places.
Do any of you watch QVC? While scrolling through the shopping channels, I noticed that QVC have some early xmas shopping shows on throughout today. Maybe not just today, but I'm going to record a couple of the shows and see what they are offering.
Yes, I've never bought from there myself but I have friends that have done.

Can’t believe Queenie of London has already got her first Christmas video out of the year. I know it’s the end of July, and so we’ve only got one month to go before the ‘ber months, but I have to say July feels like it is just gone on forever. I hate to say it, but I am slightly bored of summer now.
