Home bargains Christmas isles being replaced with rows and rows of storage stuff 💔💔💔 heartbreaking every year 🤣

did get a couple of gift bits to put away for next year 🫣 Aldi chutneys/preserve gifts were reduced and have a date till end of 2026 so I got a few and will get some crackers later in the year to go with think it’ll make a nice gift for neighbours/older family members

We do usually keeps ours up until the 6th Jan but the kids are back to school that day. We’re away from home now so I had been putting things away as and when since Boxing Day. The Lemax village and actual tree will go away on the 6th but bedding, crockery, nutcrackers etc are away already.
P.S did everyone else take 3 days off from laundry but now have 3 months of washing to catch up on?
We went away for three days and now somehow have two full washing bins 😶
I’m also a ‘leave your decs up as long as possible’ person - we spend so much time putting them up and they’re only out once a year, it seems a shame to be in a hurry to pack them away. Plus Christmas doesn’t end on the 25th December 🙂

I learned last year that people used to leave their decorations up till Candlemas on 2nd February, so I think it’s absolutely fine! 🎄❤

My Mum leaves hers up till Feb! Why not, who’s she hurting? No one!

I love New Years, it’s when I met my husband and I just love the fresh start - although you literally don’t have to change, it’s also just another day 🤗 we’re gonna have a nice tea and hopefully see some fireworks out the window. Decs down New Years Day and a big clean, I used to be superstitious about cleaning on New Years Day but it makes me feel good so I’m not anymore. Hoping the weather will be ok for a nice New Years dog walk at some point! Two more nights to enjoy my Christmas tree and lights 🥰🎄

Weather warnings up here in Scotland. They’ve cancelled the big Edinburgh event, seen it on the news.

We were out in Edinburgh when the news came through. Stood and watched them dismantling the stage! Lots of disappointed people on their phones trying to find something else to book tomorrow night.

We usually take our decs down on the 2nd. I'm going to miss them so much 😔
I came home earlier, put all the Christmas lights on, got a mince pie and hot chocolate and watched Jingle All The Way. I'm holding on to the festive season for as long as possible!

Sounds heavenly 😍 I’ve just finished off the Costco chocolate cake my parents got for Xmas day and washed it down with a glass of Bellini, little 11pm light snack 🤣 think I’ve had about three quarters of that cake myself nobody else must have dared finish it off 🤣

Before Christmas I try to grasp every Christmas film, carol, song, event. After 25th everything seems so hollow. Yesterday we watched a few Christmas specials that I know would have hit differently last week.

If anyone is a Christmas chocolate fan, Amazon Fresh has reduced heaps of them and even added more than I paid for. 30p for the mini Cadbury puds bag is a bargain by any measurement.

Mine was all out of the Christmas chocolate, but I managed to get a tub of twiglets for 33p!

I’ve decided to leave the decorations up until Saturday, and stay in the Christmas bubble until then (I will be back working on Thursday, but it’s only two days!) I’ve watched SO many Hallmark-style Christmas films this year, I’ve loved it 😊

One thing I noticed is how little Christmas stock shops have had since they reopened. I went to a retail park on the 27th and there was limited availability in most of them. Home Bargains staff were even taking all their decorations off the shelves and putting them in the back!

I’ve taken the Christmas cards, the door wreath and my little Christmas ornaments down today. Going to take the tree down and outdoor lights on Saturday with my partner’s help 😅 It’s my birthday in a fortnight so I like a fresh start for that.

This is the first Christmas in a long while that I’ve enjoyed, mainly due to my MH being in a better place. Looking forward to next year! 🎄✨🥂

Christmas is over according to Home Bargains, they’ve got valentines and Mother’s Day stuff in
I saw Daffodils today in my local Sainsbury’s.

Would have taken a photo but had left my phone at home.

Anyone feeling a bit urgh on NYE? Keep seeing all these end of year round ups and feel like I’ve done nowt!! My son is with his dad and his wife so guess I’m just missing him.

Had planned to venture out for some cheesy fireworks but they’ve been cancelled due to the weather. My sister is staying with me until the 2nd and she said we could still go out but she’s six months preg and full of cold. We’re staying in with KFC and a movie.

sorry, misery guts is finished waffling!!

I can’t stand NY. All the news programmes just there were about reflecting back, people dying, just depressing tit. I’ll not be watching anything to do with NY or fireworks. My teens are going out, so just me. I’ll watch all my soaps, and have some recorded including classic Eastenders. I’ll have some wine and order a takeaway. I’ll not give NY another thought. I’ll make a nice dinner tomorrow but that’s it. We’ll get through it 💚

Completely normal feeling, but honestly staying in with KFC on this windy dark day sounds cozy  I hope you have a nice relaxing evening.
