What do you guys buy your hairdressers etc at christmas or do you just give a tip?

I don't really go to the hairdresser that often, but I think I would just do a tip. We usually give a nice card and some money to the garbage collectors and the postman. Plus the kids teachers, I usually give them a gift card for a restaurant.

We leave some beer on top of the bin the last collection before Christmas for binmen then just tip any beauty salons/hairdressers

Trying to think of some Christmas activities to do with children during half term. My kids break up from school on 18th and I want to do some nice things with them but our usual activities are closed or not running this year. I’ve got plenty of baking ideas but wondered if anyone had any other good ideas. My kids are in junior school and senior school.

also, cannot believe how quickly Christmas has come around. I say it every year but wow... 18 days to go

Has anyone else been bombarded with social media invites from friends and/or folk you used to go to school with... who are now apparently all expert candle makers?!?

Every day someone new seems to be making wax melts and candles. I think I missed something major. What is this?! Is it a franchise thing or some MLM selling type? Or an innocent 2nd income from a hobby? I am very confused as I know some incredibly non creative folks who are now candlemakers

Can anyone PLEASEEE help me?
I want something for my sister, which is a word in Japanese along the lines of 'Smile# ... 'Be Happy' and so on. Can anyone recommend any words? I don't 100% trust google. Is sumairu the correct word or smile?
I just want a positive word for her! She loves anything to do with Japan so I want it to have double the meaning

Hobbycraft do some little paint your own decorations craft kits for a quid of pounds.

Could make reindeer food, oats, sprinkles etc. Their are "recipes" online

Make a list of things to "spot" and then go on a walk and try to tick them all off.

Watching Christmas films with snacks and hot chocolates.

Decorating baubles. I bought a set of 3 from Hobbycraft for £3 I think. Then bought some acrylic pens from Amazon.

Activity books from places like Home Bargains.

Decorate a gingerbread house - there are kits at most supermarkets.

Anyone know what drinks M&S have that are worth buying? Any bottles of pre made cocktails worth getting? I’m not keen on the cans. Missing a nice cocktail and I’m tier 3. Some bars are doing deliveries but not on Christmas Day so they won’t keep for a few days and the prices are silly!

I'm really looking forward to the food. My mum cooks an epic roast.

And the Matthew Bourne production of The Red Shoes ballet is being broadcast on BBC2 at 6pm Christmas Day which I'm so excited about. I've wanted to see it since it came out on stage but kept missing it and the film is a favourite of mine.

So does mine, she also makes her own xmas pudds with plenty of Rum.
This year we might be able to get a Turkey so we might be having Lamb instead.

Nothing. She gets tipped at every appointment. I'm in North America though so it's the norm.
