Well it’s 6 months until Boxing Day. 😬

but are things going to be different this year?

If you travel to see family are you planning to arrange these trips?

Will it be smaller celebrations and less gifts?

Are you preparing in advance incase we get a second wave in the autumn that leaves Santa in the Nightingale on Christmas Eve 😐

I don’t think much will change for me tbh, it’s only my mum, my brother and his wife and myself at Christmas now, so it’s always a relatively quiet affair. I’ll go and stay with my mum the night before, and we’ll all spend Christmas together as normal 🙂 I actually start shopping for Christmas (mostly mum only, as I do a big stocking for her) around about now anyway, so in reality not much will change. I may do more online than normal tho. It’s a shame because a lot of the “wee mindings” you get are often found randomly browsing in store. I think a lot of those wee things won’t be around this Christmas. I often feel it’s the smallest cheapest mindings which end up being remembered or cherished the most too...

I’m thinking more austerity, more home made stuff....somehow it just feels more appropriate. Especially as I’ve been furloughed and had the chance to pick all our red currants that normally go over.
I’m mulling over something I can make from all the hundreds of pages of zoom quiz answers.

The kids will get usual 100 each and a joint present they wanted Nintendo switch ages but waiting black Friday sale.
We saved a fortune on birthdays this year and day trips.. 2 lockdown birthdays this year.
Im 40 this summer not sure i want to go to a restaurant.
This year i might splurge on marks and Spencer beauty calender.
Been such a hard year.
No idea if visits Santa be allowed.
We usually visit family big party all depends on the virus.
We will save from August and maybe buy smaller bits early

We usually have a big family Christmas, but I can’t see that happening this year, so I’m trying to book for 2 weeks all inclusive at a resort in the Maldives..
Unfortunately, i stopped playing the Lottery years ago, so realistically, it’s probably going to be 2 weeks self catering, in Jaywick-On-Sea, can’t wait 😱😱😱

I was made redundant at the start of lockdown so I’m going to try to be creative with gifts; no idea what though!
Hopefully I can also get a job that isn’t retail so I can have the time off over Christmas - it’s my favourite time of year and for the past 7 I’ve been either working Christmas Eve and then knackered on Christmas Day or working Boxing Day which just sucks all the joy out of your life (being told you’ve ruined someone’s Christmas because you can’t do refunds on Boxing Day? Highlight of my year 😔)

Depends what state the countries back in.. it will be a bleeping mess looking at all those people on beaches and throwing illegal raves so Christmas will be small.

Will be a small one for us this year. Ive already squirrelled some kids gifts away from sales so wont have much to buy. This pandemic has really woken me up about financial security and what things really matter to us as a family. It’s been a hard time but some blessings have come from it. Hopefully I stick to my resolve and don’t try to compensate for this year by buying more 😉

We normally go to my grandparents so that will depend on shielding but other than that not sure. My family have been floating a secret santa idea rather than everyone buying for everyone for a long time so maybe this will push people over the edge.

As a country however, I think we should take this opportunity to change the fact that shops are open on boxing day and retail workers are forced to go in and deal with the attitudes of people one day after christmas. The sales should start on the 27th and be done with it.

I wont be going to the shopping Centres for presents thats for sure! Not sure what we are doing for Christmas day yet but I might host it this year as last year we went to my mums.

Myself and partner love Christmas favourite time of year for us. Our little girl will turn 2 on Xmas Eve.

But I feel this year Christmas isn’t going to be a nice one for a lot of families, a lot of people will be missing around Christmas table, redundancies are high. Majority of Influencers will be posting over the top Christmas present buying making some people feel inferior.

This year it’s made me appreciate my family so much more.

Yes it’s already quite a tough time for so many.
This one will be harder. I definitely feel grateful for what we have ❤

We used to travel to my in-laws for Christmas (a 14 hr drive). We stopped doing that a few years ago when we got our dog, lol.
Now we just have Christmas with the two of us and if is enjoyable. I don't think much will change this yr. Will prob start Christmas shopping way earlier, that's it.

Hopefully things will be back to normal by xmas. We are one of them families that goes to everyone else's house and eats all their food 😂.

So I'm hoping that's the same this year. Dont fancy cooking a dinner, even if it only is for the four of us...

We are lucky in the fact that covid has had little impact on our finances.

I never go shopping at xmas. Amazon prime 😂 As for the sale, I'd rather stay home in my pjs and pay full price.
