You don't have much luck with deliveries on your street. I remember you told us about getting a package that was meant for someone else.
that was the opposite of bad luck! It was a strike of luck on our part but we did the right thing in the end

Is it something good?? Maybe they’ve nicked it
they’ll be a bit disappointed I reckon, it’s some kids pyjamas from matalan and a dressing gown

Evening all.

I have had a right mopey kind of day. I am fully convinced that they are preparing me for a "you won't walk again......" thing. The consultant came around today and really gave me that impression. Then the psychologist came and was doing lots of "what does your life look like if this is all the mobility you will achieve...." stuff. Blah de blah. Honestly you lovely lot, really make sure to go out and do whatever you want to do today because you just don't know what tomorrow will bring. I might not have spent my last day of mobility watching England lose a penalty shoutout had I known.

Anyway, what kind of bag do people use? You know to just carry a purse, keys, phone kind of thing. I am in bed and doing allllllll the internet shopping in an effort to cheer myself up.

OJ, like I mentioned earlier I work in healthcare and I work with people who think they've lost it all because some twatty doctor has come round, read a bit of paper and completely disregarded the person in front of them. I don't know what's going on with you medically but I know that I have met enough people that have had similar discussions who've stuck two fingers up to the doctors and achieved things on their own terms. If you have a stubborn attitude, a good physio on your side and an OT in your corner then you can do things that truly amaze these kind of Drs. Because they just do not know or appreciate how bloody incredible the human mind can be when it's determined!

The little rectangular ones you strap round your waist and unzip to find compartments for your money and keys and little pockets for your payment cards, supermarket points cards, etc.

A person really close to me has the potential of having what you have so I really feel for everything you are going through. I feel your frustration. You are a powerful woman . You are improving the time you are on your wheelchair every day just from sheer will. It is so admirable.

Bag wise: totes are my go to faves for day time. Night time I use some small leather crossbody ones.

I kind of felt like saying to him "I'm Mrs Jelly and I am not ready to not walk again, so stfu"

I am fortunate to have amazing physios and OTs behind me and I'm also incredibly stubborn and determined.

Please say this to them. It's always fun to watch them stutter and try to back track.

(I once listened a Dr tell a 95 year old that she shouldn't go sky diving because "she might break a hip". She turned around and said "I could break it falling down the stairs, I might as well do it from higher up!")

We believe you'll be able to do it @ordinaryjelly - when you first went in you couldn't use your fingers to type. A few weeks ago you could barely use your chair. You're making great progress and we're behind you all the way!

Maybe the doctors are just doing the 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst' tactic.

I’m so sorry you’ve had a difficult day. I obviously don’t know you but you seem like such a strong woman with such a positive outlook and motivation to recover. I hope it’s not an insensitive thing to say but please don’t let your perception of what the hospital may or may not say take away your determination to get better. You’ve already been doing so well with spending time in your wheelchair and you have so many people here thinking of you and wishing the best for you

I like a tote bag - I like to carry my life round with me so the bigger the better

I’m sure you will walk again. Even if the drs tell you differently! I’m a small bag across the body / long strap kinda girl. I hate a big bag these days and I hate having to actually carry it.

Evening all I’m feeling a bit meh this evening hut I think I’m just tired. I can’t even be bothered to have dinner so I’m having a Kit Kat chunky and a cup of tea and then I’m going to bed

@ordinaryjelly you’re so strong and I really couldn’t do what you have done all this time. I’m sure one day you will walk again. You should be proud of yourself how far you’ve come and how strong you are. I’m sorry you’ve had a rubbish day, I know it’s easy to say, but stay positive

I'm sure you will walk again in time. I will pray for you anyway.

As for bags I use a small cross the body one I got from Zara years ago. I do have Totes but find them annoying if you want your hands free etc.

We’re all back from mil’s. The babies in bed. I feel proper tired so giving the Sims a miss tonight!

my fella made a sweet chilli chicken stir fry but said he mixed in a ‘little bit’ of salt and pepper seasoning. Dunno what a little bit is to him but I was sweating my chebs off eating it

for some reason we’re watching a documentary about porn while we wait for I’m a celeb while we’re watching it me fella goes ‘what are we watching this on’ and I said my 5 why? And he went ‘so I can watch it later’ cheeky sod there’s pure dominatrix showing their sex toys and one was like ‘I tickle this Round their wotsits’ so I keep telling me fella I’m gonna tickle his wotsits. @ordinaryjelly i have all the faith that you’ll be up and walking again and I can’t wait for the day I read a post from you about how you proved all the doctors wrong! Just know that we’re all behind you
