I think people have started unfollowing Slumflower, she was at 346k earlier and now it says 345
I’m pleased to see more people speaking out about this now e.g. Munroe. I have been watching this play out for the last five weeks (I can’t believe it’s been five weeks) I followed both the slum flower and Florence but as a white woman who has only just started looking in to feminism in the last year I don’t feel I am educated enough about these issues to have given my opinion or to have formed a full opinion.
I would like to thank everyone who has been posting on this thread, it’s been very eye opening and educational hearing everyone’s points of view and hearing different points of view.
As the weeks have gone on I have felt this has become out of hand and it feels like a witch hunt. I’m genuinely shocked at the comments white women have been sending CE and the comments under FG last Instagram post, I’m also shocked at the amount of people sending money to CE directly.
I watched aja’s live earlier and completely agree with what she said about reading the room first. I wonder how many of the women who were very quick to comment on this / send abusive messages to all involved and to send money now wish they had maybe researched this more or considered things more first or if they now have a different opinion?

I would doubt it going off how Chidera has been acting the last few weeks. At least she has gone quiet - she hasn’t got a leg to stand on and she knows it. What is her excuse for calling someone a c**n? It’s a horrendous thing to throw at someone even if your also a black woman.
I have to say I wasn’t a fan of Florence but I’m warming to her slightly because of this. She’s handled this with grace and people seem to have good things to say about her? I don’t particularly agree with her brand of feminism nor can I stand her dancing on stories still but hope she comes out of this okay.
I agree. I didn’t hate Florence before but I did find her a little bit annoying (all “the floss effect” stuff) but I think she handled this as well as she could have and the fact that other people I respect like Aja and Munroe support her speaks well of her.
It must be such an exhausting position to be in, no matter what she does Chidera will find a way to spin it against her.

Chidera is posting her stories again and is basically saying they are wrong for siding with Florence. She is pitching herself up against Munroes tweets.

Totally agree with everything you lovely people have said. Haven't much to add myself except to echo what someone said about Chidera's ageism towards Aja and Stephanie combined with a healthy dose of misogynoir (for anyone who doesn't know, "Aunty" is what you call your Black female elders - typically refers to a Black woman who is middle aged or older - normally used lovingly or at least tongue in cheek but here Chidera is using it as an insult). She's not just insulting them for being older than her, but for being older Black females.
Honestly, how tf can all these white girls not see how racist Chidera is against any Black person who dares stand against her?! "C**n", "Aunty", these are all racialised terms she's flinging around, it's honestly disgusting.
I think Munroe posted recently about coming "back to work" after taking a few weeks off to enjoy Xmas and recover from surgery. Seems this has been one of the first things she's posted about/ dealt with since being back on social media full time, it must have been eating her up over her break, the sheer amount of abuse. And it only took one big influencer speaking openly, soberly and candidly about this situation (and actually naming names and daring to publicly support FG and DB, rather than solely condemning CE with no mention of the accused parties), for the others to speak up in a more open and direct way. We love to see it!
I really think someone in Chidera's life needs to confiscate her phone and her WiFi router lol. She needs some time offline to reflect instead of constantly reacting and antagonizing people online. It's like she's addicted to the dopamine hit every time she stirs the pot. But my god, when the money from this rush of white-guilt-driven book sales starts to run dry, and when she realises she's completely trashed her own reputation and has no career left to speak of.... It's gonna be really bleak and sad for her.
If Chidera showed any remorse or apologised to everyone she's hurt, I might even feel sorry for her - she's a young woman who got rich and famous way too quickly and clearly couldn't handle the power that brought, and didn't have good people around her to help her see sense. When the anger burns out she's going to be very panicked about burning all of her bridges, I am sure. She's kind of backed herself into a corner where she's got no option but to keep exploiting white guilt if she wants to keep the £££ flowing in. So that makes her even less likely to change her narrative.
As fucked as she's been, I really hope that Chidera doesn't end up as a victim of cancel culture here. She's young and deserves the opportunity to redeem herself. Maybe it'd help teach her not to go on big cancelling witch hunts as well, and to extend grace to people, or at least follow proper routes for dispute resolution (especially where money's involved).
But if she can't do that then I 100% wanna see Florence get an injunction against her and/ or sue. Munroe and Diving Bell too!
