What annoys me, is people give an extra 'gold star' to anything LGBT related. It is patronising to not hold someone to the same standard as everyone else because of sexuality.

Her behaviour is strange indeed, but cant help but notice double standards among celebs.. Men can be convicted criminals and go on with their careers.. With Chappell? Even if everything is true, the worst you can say about her - that she is a major b*tch, and she is being cancelled and forbidden to go places.. Or did Brazil also forbit Chris Brown to perform?

You've never worked in healthcare or customer service, I take it? That's literally all day every day at work.

It's utterly unhinged to avenge a grudge against a stranger for a perceived slight 8 months ago. How angry and festering do you have to be to do that, and to even remember it in the first place?

If you’ve got a job you enjoy doing but it’s being ruined by a few arseholes you’ve got a few choices;

The parts of her job she doesn’t like are not fundamental to her role. She’s a performer and makes music, she doesn’t need to be nice to paparazzi or accept stalking

And why does this only apply to the celebrity? What about photographers? By your logic, why should paparazzi have to put up with childish, spoiled divas - who occupy a more powerful social and economic position - publicly ranting and raving at them at their place of work? Photographers would be just as entitled to improve their lot and object to mistreatment.

Paparazzi only have to take photos of celebs. There is no requirement to be nice to celebrities either, by your logic. But I suspect you only apply your reasoning to Chappell because of classism. Photographers occupy a lower social rung, so they have to just accept their superiors giving them public dressings down.

Paparazzi are not stalkers. They have a symbiotic relationship with stars. You say the parts of her job she doesn't like are not fundamental to her role, but actually they are. Without fame and all that comes with it, she wouldn't even make a wage with her own music. She'd have to eke a living doing covers in pubs, clubs and weddings, like other non-famous singers (or live off Grandpa's money).

Screwing over fans to do the VMAs doesn't exactly endear you to her talking about struggling with fame and fans.

While I agree with the sentiment of her setting boundary post, she should have kept it breezy and made the post 30 words max. I doubt she even has much time to meet up with friends with one song blowing up at the moment, let alone be recognized out of character.

If you make a judgement call and it ends up being a calm interaction, why is the kid crying? And if you're a bodyguard you know you can gently push aside a kid. Why go up to the mum, reprimand her and let your paycheck out of sight. That's not what you should do, what you're paid to do or something I ever saw a bodyguard do

Chappell Roan really needs to pick a lane. She’s angry all the time at the basic factors of fame; photographers shouting at you to turn is not a personal attack.

People asking you for selfies or autographs is tiresome I’m sure, but bawling out about it is whiny at best and fucking ungrateful at worst.

I like her music but she’s starting to come across as a spoiled fucking brat, which she is likely to wear as a badge of honour, but when you don’t have a solid body of respected work, and an established long lasting fan base is a fool’s move.

I don't know why pop stars still pretend like they came from nothing when they are almost always from well-to-do if not straight up rich families. Taylor Swift doesn't pretend like she's from the holler and it hasn't affected her career one bit.

There are far less opportunities to make money from music these days. Pretty much the only people who can afford to go down the artist route these days have money to cushion them or to fall back on. Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Lana Del Ray etc...they're all full of shit about where they come from.
