Let’s see where the emergency PR spin lands her
Judging by online spaces most people loved on quickly with “the reaction to this has been overblown” and some variations of her just being unlikable but separating the artists from the art

There was an article about how it was fuelled by bots but people seem to have caught on to this being someone trying to sell a product and how it will be a more common PR move

I think this sort of attitude is just something she’s going to own from now on as she never really made an effort to do PR for it. It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up once the hype around her dies down

Doubt it considering Chappie herself had no issue with the child.

The security guard is the one who got sacked for failing Kim Kardashian when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. He's likely lying to cover his own arse after discovering the mother he went after wasn't a rando nobody!
According to something she posted then quickly deleted, she confirmed it did happen then gave a whole new story the next morning.

Suspect that it becomes a lot harder when you’re dealing with people in person

can’t just hang the phone up
You’re all trying so hard to prove me wrong but if someone is being aggressive and threatening to your face you can call the police. Celebrities don’t have that kind of protection against paparazzi.

I don't get the fuss at all music-wise. Certainly tuneful and a great voice, but nothing we haven't heard before. Most of her songs sound like more polished versions of early Lana demos, such as Serial Killer.

She performed a new song on SNL last week (video is the audio from the performance).

Not...really sure what I think about it. It's catchy enough but a pop country song six months after Cowboy Carter and Fast Car etc. feels trend chasing rather than innovative. I also don't think she really has the voice for it, girl very much Does Not Have The Range (that run at 3:14, eek). But social media seemed very excited about a "lesbian [] country song" so maybe it'll be a hit.

Drag is essentially just having an overblown, vibrant onstage persona. In this case, Kayleigh Amstutz is the real person and Chappell Roan is her drag/onstage character. Plus a lot of the way she looks and styles herself on stage is a nod to drag culture.
Thank you for the explanation

BIB - The claim is by GUDEA, the people who said the same about Taylor and the bots in the Rolling Stone article a while back which turned out to be mostly untrue with even some Swifties saying it was BS as they neglected to mention the bots defending her or that they used AI and those saying things showing they were real people and not in fact bots like the company claimed. I'm guessing this will be the same and she won't be the last one to claim it either.

I will let the people with in person customer service experience tell you the reality of it

The funny thing is that your whole point is based on something that hasn’t happened yet

She’s had problems with fans being weird in person when she’s not wanting to be a celeb. That’s what the IG stories were about

Her problems with paps appear to be limited to work events at the moment. Granted, most celebrities have managed to get working relationships with paps and aren’t followed 24/7 like they were a decade or so ago. Seemingly her included because despite being at the top of her game there seems to have not been any “spotted” pics of her

I'm sure the fans who are out of pocket will be happy to hear that 😬 wasn't today supposed to be the Paris show?
I’m sure they already worked out it was for vmas, I remember seeing it mentioned on Twitter. Awards show over fans is an odd choice.

Personally, anyone demanding that the lessers don't look them in the eye is automatically the sort of person who loses my respect. Not that I had any for Chappie, or Jlo and the rest.

Mike Myers is one of those, he demands to be recognized but then throws a tantrum when that happens. He wants both bowing and scraping and to be ignored, which seems to be the standard with these kind of assholes. Mike certainly lost all my fandom with his behavior.
But that's my point, Chappie doesn't do that. Now that we know she actually didn't sent the security guard over and the security guard didn't even mention CR, we've got no evidence of her doing more than asking adults not to follow her in the streets.

Exactly. I thought it was wildly known that paparazzi are ruthless pricks, why is the narrative suddenly that they are poor victims just trying to do a job!?? 🤣🤣
because bullies are bullies regardless of whether you personally lie/approve of the victim.

her personality is a real shame because I do quite like her music

I don't know if I'm missing something about Chappell Roan's behaviour? Has she done things I don't know about, or am I just agreeing with her because I'm also a diva bitch? 😅

I believe her that she didn't know what the bodyguard was doing, especially after what the bodyguard has now said.

I've seen her telling fans and paparazzi to not follow her when she's just out living her life not doing performance things. I get that she wanted to be famous and should expect that that involves being followed. But she's still allowed to not enjoy it and tell people to leave her alone, imo?

I remember her first statement that she didn't like people coming up to her in public acting like they're BFFs when she doesn't know them. I think that's the difference between being aware that that's what happens to celebrities, but she still doesn't have to enjoy it. I don't think asking people to not follow her is particularly rude, even if it's also not a realistic expectation. I don't even find her demeanor rude, I think she just isn't sweet and appeasing, like society wants young women to be.

J-Lo and Dr Phil and Mariah Carey are all documented as demanding that people don’t look them in the eye.

Is there stuff about CR I don't know, or do people just not like her vibe?

Yep. I love her music and think she’s an incredible artist. The current controversy doesn’t change any of that. I’m also disappointed by her unpleasant behaviour and fascinated by the apparent contradictions in her origin story 🤷‍♀️
This is me too.
I really thought she grew up in a trailer park. Struggled for $$$.

But her parents were doing alright for themselves.

Did her pr sell this back story.. or did the internet get a tidbit and run wild and she didn't correct.

I dont know.

Thank you for the moaning laugh, I nearly choked from laughing so hard. I've worked a decade in customer service and not had a single manager who would allow me to "simply hang up or choose to not serve someone" who was being rude or aggressive (which is at least 25% of every shift I've ever done). What fantasy world are you living in?
Again, I hope you manage to find a company that will look after your wellbeing.
Whenever I’ve worked in customer service I have been told you warn the customer that you will not tolerate aggression and if they continue you won’t carry on the conversation. If the calls are recorded then they can listen to it back and and verify that you tried.

Honestly, all you’re doing is making me feel bad for you and think that you don’t have enough self-worth. You shouldn’t have to put up with being abused at work in ANY position.

A link to the NHS’s policies when it comes to abuse of their staff. As healthcare and customer service was a given example.

Thoughts? Just seen she cancelled a couple of her tour dates so she can attend the VMA's. 🫣

BIB is your opinion, and you can't force people to agree with you, which the majority here don't. You seem to enjoy coming to snark threads and arguing with people, maybe this isn't the right website for you? Or just stick to the TS rave thread?
I’m just giving my opinion, as other people are. People hate to see the other side of things, very closed minded if that’s the case.
---
If debate isn’t allowed on tattle then I wasn’t aware, apologies. Would be a very boring site if everyone just agreed though wouldn’t it?
Moderating isn’t allowed, however so please do not tell me where I am allowed to post and where I am not.

Apparently it was one of Sabrina Carpenter’s security. If someone else’s security felt the need to go up and speak to them, given what his statement says, it sounds like the child had been making a bit of a nuisance of herself for days.
