Chappell's cocked up now, she's sent her security after an 11 year old because the kid walked past her table and looked at her without approaching or speaking to her. Said 11 year old is the daughter of Jude Law, and the step daughter of one of Brazil's top footballers who's posted about it:

"I lived a very sad situation with my family earlier.

My wife is in São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil. This morning, my daughter woke up extremely excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist that she admires, or admired, greatly. Chappell Roan.

By coincidence, they are staying in the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist passed by their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her and was excited, and wanted to make sure that it was her.

And do you know what's worse, she didn't even approached the artist. She simply walked past the singer's table, looked at her to confirm it was her, smiled and returned to the table with her mother. She didn't said anything, nor did she asked for anything.

What happened afterwards was completely disproportionate. A big security man went to their table while they were having breakfast and started to speak in an extremely aggressive manner to my wife and daughter, saying that she shouldn't allow my daughter to "disrespect" or "harass" other people.

Sincerely, I don't know how walking past a table and looking at someone can be considered harassment. Then, he said he would file a complaint against them in the hotel, while my 11 year old daughter cried in the table. My daughter was very scared and cried a lot.

I have lived for many years with football, with exposure, with famous people, and I know very well what is respect and limit. What happened there wasn't it. It was merely a child admiring someone. It's sad to see this kind of treatment coming from someone who should understand the worth that fans have. In the end, they are the ones who build everything.

I sincerely hope that this serves as a reflection. No one should have to experience this, let alone a child.

Chappell Roan, without your fans you wouldn't be anyone. And to her fans, she doesn't deserve your love."
Always knew she was going to do this with the wrong person and get bitten in the arse for it. It seems that time has arrived.

I was queued up in the supermarket the other day, and the woman in front of me had a small child in a pushchair. The child kept staring at me, so I waved to him, and then he waved back and clapped.

I’m fucking outraged, going to get Sainsbury’s security to have a stern word with the mother.

Comparing something she's actively sought out for 10 years to domestic abuse is beyond tone deaf.

Chappell Moan.

This chick is so full of her own importance. The economy is in the crapper, groceries are through the roof, there are people being slaughtered, but this one has a problem with people looking at her. She is a global ambassador for MAC cosmetics with her face plastered on billboards, getting a cheque for it, but please don't look at her. She gets her heavies to threaten a young fan and her mum? She is an insufferable twatwaffle.

I couldn't name a single song by her, but I'm starting to really dislike her. Every single thing I've heard about her has been negative. Does she ever actually say anything positive about anything or anyone?

I read part of an interview with her in the Rolling Stone, and rather than expressing gratitude that all her hard work has paid off and she's getting so much recognition and respect in the industry, she's whinging that people didn't recognise her genius earlier! Direct quote: "What's so infuriating is that people are just now taking me seriously. Like, you know what, bitch? I've been doing this shit and you're just now catching up."

She comes across as a pretentious arrogant brat, who believes she's some sort of revolutionary genius but actually just behaves like a posh performing arts student spilling word salad and dressing up like early 2000s Lady Gaga.

I also detest the way she uses the word "bitch" every five seconds, especially when speaking about other women.

There are just too many stories for them all to be fake. She seems a right cow bag.

She's talented but comes across as a dickhead.

Thing is, by having the 'Chappell' drag, she could genuinely live a pretty normal life outside of work if she chose. Dolly Parton manages it because nobody recognises her without the blonde wig and the outfits, so she's able to go around mostly unbothered without these. But because Chappell continues to address her fans on tiktok and on social media out of the 'Chappell' drag, everybody bloody knows what she looks like without it so the Chappell drag no longer works to maintain the boundary! Doing lives talking to them like they're your besties also goes on to further mess up that boundary. Boundaries are fine, but keep them clear.

Additionally, she can't say "You're a random bitch to me and I'm a random bitch to you" to the fans then expect them to be just fine with her cancelling concerts to do the VMAs. Would they be fine with a "random bitch" doing it? Absolutely not.

Her entire persona seems to be based around how much she hates her fans/fame. She's only been famous for 5 minutes, she could easily leave the spotlight if she hates it so much.

I think I’m just getting too old to understand or tolerate people like her as performers. Comparing fame to an abusive relationship was pretty fucking disgusting. She needs to give her head a wobble and realise how privileged she is compared to what, 99% of the people on this planet.

She's now spoken and said that it wasn't her security, that she didn't see the kid and therefore wasn't bothered by her and she's sorry that someone assumed.

Given her history of being an arse I don't believe it one bit. Why would a random security guard go and berate an 11 year old guest at the hotel?

No one should expect to go to work and have people be rude to them and then told to just smile and accept it because that’s how it’s always been. Feels like for famous women we’re stuck in the past and if they create boundaries they must be crazy.
Sorry, but who cares? She's not saving the bloody world, she sings. If she can't handle the photographers yelling directions to be heard over everyone else to get a photo, (them doing their job) then she can piss off.

I'm sick of the idea that I have to feel sorry for poor little celebrities. Oooooh, she was yelled at? Someone was rude? Welcome to real life, babes. Most of us deal with shit like that every day.

Apparently this was her initial reaction before then posting the video

I mean, yeah I get it, anyone should be allowed boundaries and to eat in peace. But you absolutely cannot demand fame and adoration from people to then be outraged they dare to look at you in public. Totally understandable if the girl had bothered her mid mouthful of coco pops asking for a selfie and autograph, but to double down about it and send security simply because the girl looked at her is utterly ridiculous.

If she doesn’t want fame and recognition then don’t have such a public facing job? Don’t literally rely on the public to buy your music and concert tickets and stream your music? It works both ways.

This chick is getting on my last nerve. First off, I'm not in her demographic. I wouldn't be able to ID her music, but I know what she looks like. What I do know is that she has been doing this music lark since she was kid, auditioned for America's Got Talent, has had record deals, publishing deals, left Missouri for L.A. for her career. She has made it essentially and now says fame sucks. What did you think was going to happen? Granted you barely know your arse from a hole in the ground at 26, but she is hardly a naive teenager. Life is a series of trade offs. People are barely making a living, there are people being massacred and you have this kid bitching about success Poor you!

This situation reminds me of when George Michael was bitching about fame back in 1990 to the L.A. Times. Frank Sinatra famously wrote a reply to the article, noting the lack of gratitude for his fortune and noting that it isn't forever. There is aways someone more talented, prettier and younger to take your place.

Dear Friends,

When I saw your Calendar cover today about George Michael, “the reluctant pop star,” my first reaction was he should thank the good Lord every morning when he wakes up to have all that he has. And that’ll make two of us thanking God every morning for all that we have.

I don’t understand a guy who lives “in hopes of reducing the strain of his celebrity status.” Here’s a kid who “wanted to be a pop star since I was about 7 years old.” And now that he’s a smash performer and songwriter at 27 he wants to quit doing what tons of gifted youngsters all over the world would shoot grandma for — just one crack at what he’s complaining about.

Come on, George. Loosen up. Swing, man, Dust off those gossamer wings and fly yourself to the moon of your choice and be grateful to carry the baggage we’ve all had to carry since those lean nights of sleeping on buses and helping the driver unload the instruments.

And no more of that talk about “the tragedy of fame.” The tragedy of fame is when no one shows up and you’re singing to the cleaning lady in some empty joint that hasn’t seen a paying customer since Saint Swithin’s day. And you’re nowhere near that; you’re top dog on the top rung of a tall ladder called Stardom, which in Latin means thanks-to-the-fans who were there when it was lonely.

Talent must not be wasted. Those who have it — and you obviously do or today’s Calendar cover article would have been about Rudy Vallee — those who have talent must hug it, embrace it, nurture it and share it lest it be taken away from you as fast as it was loaned to you.

Trust me. I’ve been there.

She said she's not bothered about fame, yet cancels on her fans to do the vmas. It's not a good look (babe.) She contradicts herself.

I like her music, and can understand her wanting boundaries when it comes to her fans, but i think she came across quite rude, and like a diva with that video she did addressing it.

This girl is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory like nobody's business. Love her music but she needs to get a manager yesterday. The more she talks the more she puts people off.

I also really don't like the drag/harlequin look. I know she thinks she's doing some really clever deconstruction of gender or whatever but it just looks stupid.
