Comparing the neon plastic bag on mouldy grouting vs the cute red velvet bag that comes with the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks
And you just know for a fact if anyone criticised Lisa's stuff she would not get into an unseemly slanging match or tirade of abuse. I can see why Hirons and S Hughes don't ever mix with her - I bet she doesn't indulge in the bitching, gossiping and showing off that I imagine they do.

She’s a massive twat. Sorry to be abrupt but she has far too much to say for herself for a woman in her fifties? I used to follow her on twitter a while back I’m not sure how or why but all I saw her do was passive aggressively talk about smaller bloggers and ‘influencers’ she definitely thinks she’s a cut above but she honestly looks like a bulldog
I disagree strongly with your comment regarding age, being in one’s fifties shouldn’t mean your voice is ignored.

I do still have a look and a nosey
Hello,
I'm curious about and genuinely concerned with Caroline Hiron's credentials (or entire lack of?) ??

So, as a "facialist"/"aesthetician"/"beautician", where did she train?
What are her qualifications?
And, if her qualifications/credentials are legitimate and valid, is she supposed to undergo regular training to update/maintain her knowledge and technique with new developments, like doctors/dermatologists/dentists etc?
If she trained 20 yrs ago, does her accreditation expire? How does this all work in the beauty industry?
I have extremely sensitive skin and avoid facials/procedures etc because in the past they have done more damage than improvement. Simple, consistent skincare has helped rebuild my skin barrier, manage acne breakouts, and deal with pigmentation/scarring--it obviously takes longer, but I cannot take risks. Reading/hearing/seeing CH's approach to skincare truly frightens me because she is horrifyingly ROUGH.

If all her knowledge is merely from being on counter (as she calls "3rd generation" shop girl), can that really equal scientific knowledge that, say, a "3rd generation" pharmacist holds? Beauty department stores etc all have one aim: to SELL as many products as possible. Western medicine/any form of it is by no means perfect, but (in Australia, at least), pharmacists are very helpful and always try to match the right product to our needs. They often suggest a budget option--I've never encountered this in any beauty department store.

If her knowledge is from working with brands "behind-the-scenes", then isn't that still coming from a position of convincing people to part with their money as much as possible? I just don't understand how she can demand readers/subscribers to take her word as skincare law, when even doctors/pharmacists always practise caution?

As a reviewer/consumer, does she need to attack anyone and everyone who offers feedback in which a product she lauds failed? And if shew were to be comprehensive in being a reviewer/consumer, should she be so biased (some forums have even suggested racist) against K-beauty products? Would it really hurt to try snail essence and then say it didn't work for her?
I'm against animal cruelty; however, the way our capitalist world works means that all our decisions have infinite intended and unintended effects on everything, especially the environment.
I'm also not a vegetarian/vegan, but I still try to make conscious and educated decisions to the best of my ability--that's the best anyone can do? But I don't think CH has any legitimate grounds to be on a moral high-horse against Japanese/Korean skincare being "eww"/"gross" and the being the worst/only offender of animal cruelty, when she still eats meat, wears leather shoes and belts, uses leather handbags etc; if she has a car and it has a leather interior, animal products were used in that way as well. Paint pigments and dyes have always involved crushed insects/bugs. Using/having wooden furniture has and will always affect the environment and animal habitation, but using plastic/synthetic materials may solve one set of problems to create new ones. All of it is just so much more complicated than simply "boycotting" products when the problem is systemic.
LabMuffin beauty has talked really well about how silicones and plant extracts are not how they're made out to be as terrible and magnificent, respectively. Given CH's giant following, her misinformation and ignorance is deeply worrying ...

Finally, watching her dunk her talons in and out of jars/products and apply them on her face, I know it's only on her face, but when she does "her clinic" for "clients" [who actually pays for her treatments?], are her nails STILL THAT LONG?
Isn't that UNHYGIENIC?

Also, I still don't understand how Caroline Hirons is a professional in the beauty industry? Having a commercial influence is surely different from having a professional influence?

For example, with the term "beauty professional"/"skincare professional", these are the people that come to my mind: Lisa Eldridge, Caroline Barnes, Mary Greenwell, Dr Sam Bunting, Dr Dray (I know she's controversial regarding her personal health, but that is personal and the skincare information she gives is ace), LabMuffin (she's got a pHD in chemistry that is heavily used in skincare) and those of a similar educated background (whether it be institutional, such as university, or industry based such as with makeup, they have put in and continue to put hours into learning/training). They have studied, and continue to study, in their field and are paid to work daily for their professional services.

How does working on a beauty counter compare? I just cannot be convinced of her "authority", which more often than not is merely a strong opinion.
Essentially, she’s worked as a sales person behind a counter, ya know “been in the industry for years”🙄.

I’ve never heard her say she’s updated any skills through training , I wouldn’t take any notice of her advice either.

She’s a glorified sales woman who talks the talk and has a huge following , a bit like that other phoney Mrs Hinch.

WOAH. Caroline Hirons is going to find herself in a situation she can’t come back from if she’s not careful.

She LOVED him at one point, I thought. But yeah, they definitely fell out. I always suspected that she turned on Sunday Riley because they treated her like the Youtuber she is, not like another Sali.

Re the DE retinol, it’s really good, don’t worry. If you’ve never used retinol before, start out with once or twice a week MAX (I’m serious). Make sure your face is totally dry before you apply it. (I don’t know why, but it can sting on a damp face.) I apply mine in the evening, wait 15 mins or so, then put a simple moisturiser or night mask over the top. You may start to peel 4-5 days later, but stick with it if you can because it’s good.
About Deciem: she loved them until it conflicted with the super expensive stuff she was shilling. She painted herself into a corner where she couldn’t keep praising The Ordinary (which was all about stripping down the marketing BS and selling bare formulas that work for little money) and also continue to talk up her clients and the 80 euros creams. So she started spouting BS like “The Ordinary doesn’t feel like a treat and women want to feel spoiled when they use skincare”. Since this was the same woman who previously claimed that if you’re paying 80 euros for a cream, you’re paying for the CEO’s beach house, I really couldn’t justify following her anymore as the contradictions kept piling up.
She cut ties with The Ordinary and as we know sadly Brandon went off the rails and then passed away. I always thought it was very low of her to not offer condolences. The man is dead ffs.

There’s been some horrific stories on Estee Laundry’s Instagram over the past 24 hours on bullying in the head offices of some of Hirons’s biggest sponsors - Charlotte Tilbury comes off worst. Tata Harper, IT cosmetics, Rodial, Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder are shocking, worst is ColorPop and BrioGeo (me neither). This is bullying over looks, racism, mental health, etc etc., often at CEO/HR director level on down.

Think this will be touched on by St Caroline?

She promotes herself as being such a professional and yet she rarely follows through. She seems to have an idea eg: Bun Friday and then can’t be bothered to keep it up. Take Nadine Baggott or Angie Hot and Flashy they do what they say they’re going to do, they’re reliable and professional. They also give actual helpful advice and reviews whereas CH is just ranting and flogging whatever she’s lately been gifted. Also as others have said she looks appalling. The crunchy hair the terrible eye lashes, the ill advised injectables and the sweatshirts and camouflage shirts.. she literally never looks nice. I’m so over her.

I discovered CH about 4 years ago and like previous posters I have found some of her earlier blogs very helpful to me. I have always had good skin but now spend a bit more time and money thinking about it. However she is now a total sell out. Also she constantly promises blogs on this, videos on that but they never materialise...
Absolutely spot on. Also her new habit of saying "we" when she means I is very irritating. I'm sure she's got some sort of assistant (probably her niece again, or that flipping attitudinal daughter), but she's trying to give the impression that CH enterprises is much bigger and more professional than it is.

And another thing, nobody has ever been more tired, more rushed off their feet, more "far too busy to post" than she...

And yet another influencer who has always plugged their hairdresser without admitting they don't pay. ( AMR ) Josh wood is #GIFTED!
Although no # and tiny 'gifted' at the end of her post.
Her hair is awful. Really ratty bad blonde dried up mess. Her hair care/empties videos are more of a what not to buy warning than an ad. recommendation. I have never ever seen her with good healthy shiny hair, even pre blonde.

😁, keep us informed.
Just checked. Nearly 400 comments in half an hour. Mostly very outraged. The usual depressing stuff of calling the poster odd, wierd, peculiar, rude, horrible, nasty, jealous, wrinkly. All competing to be the most offended on 'Lady Hirons' behalf.
Made me remember how I fucking hate groups like that.

She's the Mother Theresa of neon plastic bags, didn't you know.

It's like cult, isn't it. The whole #carolinehironsmademedoit is so cringeworthy.

That's such an appalling way to speak to customers (sorry CH but that's what your "fans" essentially are). I've no doubt her devoted followers were clapping like seals

Honestly do not understand anyone taking advice from Caroline Hirons. She looks a mess. If that is what you aspire to then frankly you need to get out more. She also has the temperament of a nightclub bouncer.

She's very angry. She's around menopause age isn't she? I have to unfollow.
I think that's rather sexist. I doubt it's to do with the menopause ( I have many lovely friends of that age group who behave very well!) I think she's always been grumpy and confrontational and her success makes her feel more entitled to behave the way that she does.

Just had a look back to check the dates. On 31st December she includes Altrient Vit C in 2018 favourites. On 11th January she is in Ireland at an Altrient event ‘doing press’ for them. That’s an impressively quick turnaround after they contacted her to help them ‘at the beginning of the year’????!!!
It’s just so sleazy. Skincare “activist” my arse - flogger of freebie gifts more like.

I don’t really get why they air their dirty linen with brands on the sites where their customers are. It seems really unprofessional, as per this today. How dare brands request more for their money, it’s almost like... wait.. it’s a business?

Waiting for Bobbi Brown to post saying ‘Dear Influencers, it was great while it lasted but now you’re more transparent than our crystal lipgloss and sales are dropping. So how about a little more effort for your money? Seeing as you apparently ‘love our products so much that you already use them and would mention them anyway’.

Also, I know I’m going on, but shouldn’t deliverables, for payment, actually be very specific?
I thought the same. What would be really interesting is to know what they are paid. If we are talking in the thousands then moaning about whether it is 3 or 4 frames means these people have really lost the plot... like most things in the world today people want more for their money so they (influencers, as basically that is what you are Caroline, nothing more nothing less despite how much you like to spout on about your so called qualifications....newsflash training in a brands product is not a qualification) cannot expect to be immune.

Also it is proof that despite what they say about brands they love and would use even if they had to buy themselves ( really 🤣) they basically will just work for the highest bidder.

I see she’s in a paid partnership with Dermalogica , a brand she couldn’t stand a few years ago .

Money talks.

I have always had good skin but now spend a bit more time and money thinking about it. However she is now a total sell out. Also she constantly promises blogs on this, videos on that but they never materialise.... that is fine as I suppose she does not technically get paid for them (who knows how shady she is) but she never follows through. Also like SH she thinks very highly of herself. Dare to criticise her loud, shouty attitude and you are 'down on women' and she sets her pack dogs onto you. Also I find it very weird that people fawn over her instagram posts about her skin.... she has had work and uses a filter so how can you really tell what her skin is like.... also like Carol Voderman someone needs to tell her that blond aint the right hair colour for her.

It’s a terrible tragedy for Kobe Bryant’s family but why is Hirons all over her stories posting pictures of him , I cannot stand those who jump on the grief bandwagon and I cannot bear Hirons doing it . I expect we’ll get an explanation of today about how sad she is .

Imagine Nanny Caroline , will she be able to rein in her interference?
