I am not here to bash teachers police or nurses but it interests me that there is this hierarchy of jobs in the sense of expecting praise and recognition. During lockdown I have gone to work every day. I have had 6 days holiday the whole time because we were on reduced staff. I had no secretary as she was furloughed. Clients still expecting the same service as always perhaps even more so as a lot of them were at home with more time on their hands. All of this with 50% pay cut...... people reading this thinking - Christ Wobblehead that’s a bit crap. I now tell you I am a lawyer and my sympathy rating plummets. I type this not excepting any thanks, recognition or sympathy but because as I say above the job hierarchy sympathy scale fascinates me. I wonder what others thoughts are on this.
I'm also a lawyer, I've had two days annual leave this year so far. I specialise in Wills and Probate so was considered a key worker during lockdown and had to make a couple of home visits to elderly and sick clients to ensure that their Wills were signed, potentially putting myself and them at risk of Covid.

Like you, half of the departments secretarial support was furloughed and clients have been even more demanding. At one point I was dealing with all new enquiries by myself as my colleagues were too busy to take new work on. This was also after my colleague, who was retiring this summer, was furloughed and her files split between me and one other colleague.

I get annoyed when people think lawyers earn a lot of money. This might be true of commercial lawyers but most of us are probably earning much less than you think. There is also a big thing about lawyers doing pro bono and charity work, find me another service provider who people expect to work for free?

I get very annoyed with people like Martin Lewis telling people to get free charity Wills or use cheap Will writing firms. Your Will is one of the most important documents you will ever make, solicitors don't actually make money preparing them and the risk involved is high especially with estates having a higher value and the rise of second families, re-marriages and family fall outs meaning people are excluding children from Wills. Solicitors are regulated, insured and have spent years training for their job and have to undergo constant training throughout their careers to stay qualified. I've seen shocking homemade Wills and ones prepared by Will writers including one matter where the deceased signed Will and a Codicil on the same day which said contradictory things. I've also spoken to a lady who a Will writing firm tried to charge £3,000 for simple single Will and two Lasting Powers of Attorrney - my current firm would have charged about £1,000.

I don't want sympathy and of course nurses, doctors, teachers and the police and many other professions do a wonderful job but I also went into law to help people and it's actually pretty upsetting that people don't respect the training I have undergone, and paid for, to get where I am and expect me to work for free, in what other job would the public want or expect anyone not to be paid for the work they do?

That’s the travel-sized one. Does she not list the sizes of everything? I thought that was a legal requirement.
Exactly what I was thinking. The fact people on the Facebook group are debating which size the Luna is whilst blindly still going ahead to try and their ‘luck’ to get a kit is astounding!

Rose Gallagher unlike CH is not rude when she talks but is incredibly snobby specially since she became it cosmetics "ambassador" she is a sales person she is where she is just because is friend with all the pr people. She sells well but she has no idea of skincare (her skin is awful and she have no idea of dealing with rosacea more than pouring tones of heavy foundation) her make up skill are worst than Zoella, if you love your skin avoid any suggestions by her she is another up for the freebies that would never give a negative review to the brands she is friends with.
So true re Rose and rosacea, does not have a clue! I tried the it cosmetics foundation on her recommendation and I thought my face was going to fall off, instant allergic reaction!

Gotta be honest I don't get the hype about Really Ree at all. Guess her style just isn't mine.
She never does proper reviews anyway. It always reads like press releases with added "I'm obsessed". There's never anything critical, totally pointless blog.

I can't believe the sizes aren't listed and people are having to Jessica Fletcher their way to figuring out what they'd getting. Meanwhile, gobshite is shooting her mouth off again about anything and everything instead of clarifying what's in each kit.

I can’t fathom how people can spend so much money on something when they’re not sure what exactly it is they’re buying (size etc) and if it’s even really suitable for their skin type.
It feels like she reveals the kits and then puts them on sale really quickly afterwards so people have to rush in fear of missing out without having time to research the products and think carefully about the purchase. If it’s all such good stuff for everyone then give people more time to decide.

Definitely FOMO. In reality, you’re missing FA. I can’t believe the Cult following. Cringe city.

Christ I’ve had to unfollow her. She thinks her beauty back campaign has SAVED BEAUTY. She’s so full of herself. This round of relaxation of restrictions was always planned and now she thinks she’s due a bloody knighthood - I can’t handle anymore

That’s the bit I hate.
Yes, I admit I have previously bought her Cult Beauty boxes.
Back then she’d do a YouTube video with Cult about a week prior to launch, going through the contents, what they did, etc. I’d then see if there was anything in it that I really wanted and price up those items individually to see if it was worth the money.
Now it’s a case of wham, bam, thank you ma’am!
No time to think because everyone is whipped up into a frenzy.

I’m sure if she did it a week prior, it would still be a sell out and she’d be less likely to have people cancelling their orders the next day after realising they can’t really afford it.
She said that happened a lot last time which is why they are not dispatching until Wednesday so it gives people time to cancel! So she knows herself that this method results in buyers remorse.

I much prefer the old way.
I won’t be buying.
