The other problem with influencers is that many of them have now developed a God complex following years of adoration and being told they're amazing and "you're our queen" and so on. Now anytime someone comes along and asks or says something that they perceive a slight from, they're snippy, rude, aggressive. They forget that they wouldn't be where they are without their audience

A friend of mine used to work alongside Caroline Hirons and said she was a vile racist (my friend is black btw) I know people change but I honestly think her white saviour bullshit is a cover up job.
She was almost frothing at the mouth when repeating Fenty Skin isn’t for white skin whilst saying how amazing that is.
Fenty Skin have said the skin care range is for all skin types not just dark skin tones so she’s stuck on the wrong track with this one!

I do love proverbs and old sayings. This one seems apt:

Love this totally fair comment - yes Caroline, but how could you possibly know whether these products are any good unless you’ve tested them exclusively for an extended period of time. Plus, you’re white, so how would you really know. Caroline’s response - I’m a genius, don’t question me.

I hope that any company that has felt obliged to donate because they are being called out by CH to support "their" industry is equally as supportive to their own employees should the worst happen.
I completely agree the government have handled this appallingly but I fail to see why skincare or makeup companies are being named and shamed into donating money when many if those companies will be operating very differently than before to enable them to save every single penny possible to make sure their own employees are protected. And she should be stating very clearly that she will no longer be accepting free or cut price treatments, if she continues to hypocritically take on one hand while giving out a sermon on the other she's going to lose credibility.And she's still posting unsubtitled stories which is not inclusive.

1. A foaming cleanser.

2. A ‘toner’. Direct quote from the blog re toners: ‘When I talk about toner I am not referring to some alcohol-laden mixture of water and witch hazel.’ It’s also listed on the blog as one to avoid for sensitive and rosacea prone skin. Was this mentioned?

3. An SPF 30. Remind me who the poster girl for ‘nothing below SPF 50’ is? ‘Massive difference between UVA and UVB damage between 30 and 50’ etc etc source: almost every conversation/insta rant about SPF ever.

I was unable to find the inci for Fenty Skin, I am generously assuming the cleaner is SLS free (would love to know the pH) and that the Fat Water doesn’t contain alcohol but the top two ingredients for the latter were water and witch hazel if I remember correctly.

No shade to Rihanna, most skincare lines look like the above but for CH to ’educate’ us and then review Fenty Skin like she did... no thanks. Usually she is on one with ‘clean’ marketing but didn’t go on about it too much here.

I follow a woman on IG who works for BET, is Black and frequents a dermatologist for her skin. She took the (gifted) Fenty skincare line to her last appointment and derm’s opinion was basically none of the products will “hurt” you, they’re affordable, but unless you’re 20ish with decent skin, they won’t do much. If you can afford to spend money on your skincare, especially if your skin is more mature, do t but if not, then these products are fine, just don’t expect miracles. This woman also mentioned how she’s had much better luck with skincare developed by doctors (I made a comment earlier about how Hirons never really rates Dr brands) Anyway, I thought that was a really honest review for something gifted and it made a lot of sense.

She’s a fucking horrible person. What on earth was offensive about that poor woman’s post? She was simply saying that she’s happy in her own skin. And then when someone dares to ask her she has a go at them too!

I think she’s got a massive chip on her shoulder for some reason, and has become overly sensitive to comments around Botox, fillers etc. Her immediate reaction seemed to be that the post was directed at her.

I would say that she is overly sensitive because she heralds good skincare as being all you need but has herself moved onto to using botox and fillers on her aging skin.

I think shes overly sensitive because it looks so awful and obvious. I feel like she was hoping for a subtle youthful effect but she looks like shes been sculpted from playdoh. Her immediate reaction is to attack anyone who dares mention it!

This is the number one thing that I cannot get my head around with this woman.
She is supposed to be the ultimate skincare queen but has some of the worst aesthetic/cosmetic work done on her face that I have ever seen! Which then goes hand in hand with her consistently bad hair.

She's said no to Klarna but isn't Clearpay a buy now, pay later system? Similar to Afterpay and Klarna and the rest?

Not to mention, if a product doesn't work for my skin it is, in effect, 'crap' to me. It is impossible every product in those kits will work for every skin, and so inevitable some products will be 'crap' to certain buyers.

Just no Caroline. It's clear you don't care at all.

I know it’s up to the salon if it chooses to open at midnight, but I do feel sorry for the stylists staying up until 3am and then no doubt working all day today! It’s very CH to get her hair done at midnight, she’s sooo important she can’t wait.

And for free - FFS - why do they call it ‘press’ it is ffffing free of charge in the hope that they will post their bleach straw like hair on insta so that other people go there. I would never go there on account of the fact that most people you see there are having ‘press’ cuts and colour so no wonder their prices are so high. Oh and because none of the haircuts and colour actually look very nice.

If anyone watches This Morning, they ask you to arrive ready as they show throughout the program what is coming up and the person is normally there to show a preview of what’s coming. Yesterday Caroline was nowhere to be seen up until she came on. Because she wasn’t ready she couldn’t do any previews. She’s such a twat. I hope they don’t ask for her to come back on as she just can’t follow a simple instruction then slags them off the day after.

Liiiike, she’s besties with the Chapman sisters. Pay one of them to do your makeup ahead of time. “Come camera ready” doesn’t necessarily mean you have to do your OWN makeup. Use your own money and hire a makeup artist and hair stylist. I’m sure they’d be so grateful to get some paid work.

This! Baby botox? You mean plain and simple Botox.
Of all the people who should know better than to use shady marketing tactics and made up names for treatments and products....Call it what she wants but you can tell she’s had Botox from just watching a few seconds of her videos.

I looked it up. Apparently it's smaller amounts used in strategic areas... so still botox. Just call it botox!

No one ever says "I had a 1ml shot of filler"

Does that mean 0.5ml filler is baby filler? 1ml toddler filler......and so on

JESSICA DEFINO. I only started following her recently thanks to the Sali Hughes thread here, she is a proper journalist who cuts through all the crap and importantly has nothing to sell you. So refreshing.

This is the thing - the products average £25 each. Some of them might have a far higher RRP so are seen as bargains, but you can't tell me under normal circumstances these people would be going out and buying 10 products in one go at an average of £25 each, potentially four times a year? What would be the point?

The worst part about her post is "[we] work really hard to get these kits to you" as if she's so altruistic and not getting anything out of it herself! This is literally her main source of income and she's speaking to people as if she's doing them a favour. It's kind of genius the way she's got so many people to fall for it. She will absolutely NOT be "put off doing brand deals", who the fuck does she think she's kidding?
(By the way, I'm not criticising anyone who buys one of these kits if they actually want the products and would have bought a good proportion of them anyway. It's her attitude that beggar's belief.)

Or maybe the worst part is "we KNOW times are hard ... It's one of the reasons we said no to Klarna" - when she's offering Clearpay

Or maybe the worst part is conflating "offering crap" with people saying the kits may contain products that don't suit their skin/they don't need. Cynical AF.

It really is a conundrum.

It's just spending for the sake of it. If I buy all my skincare products in one go, it's over £200 but I get between 6 and 12 months out of it and never have to buy it all at once.

My cleanser for example is £52 and I get exactly 11 months out of it, using it twice a day.

I've found I've saved money by only sticking to what works for me, what helpsy skin condition and I don't try or buy random skincare and since doing this, skin is better and bank balance is better!!

She doesn't care as long as her pockets are lined and the money comes in. She probably doesn't care about beauticians fully opening, she's just worried it might do her out of a job as people realise they don't need her expensive kits.

And how can she claim skincare is everything when she's got there through surgery regardless of how minor the procedure.

And her face fascinates me, stretched, shiny and crazy high cheekbones and equally high forehead, its like plastic!!

There’s been an uptake in the sellers groups of people who desperately want the kit selling skincare
The 21 year old who I mentioned earlier is selling this so two items from the kit she bought previously yet she still plans to buy the most recent one
Noticed a few comments about people using the Clearpay option. Not sure I’m a fan of her adding that as an option

Do people buy used skincare items? I wouldn’t buy anything that had been opened, especially not in the middle of a pandemic but maybe I'm being overly cautious.
