I nearly bought it too because it was mentioned and mentioned and mentioned.

Now it's crickets....

I bet there are people out there who spent the 200 odd quid on one of her boxes who got it and then thought WTH have I wasted my money on but are embarrassed to say so publicly.

Yes, you’re right. She talks about her ‘science background’ but let’s face it, she has been in beauty PR and journalism for 30ish years, so even if it was an undergrad human biology or chemistry degree it will be 30 years old. She mentioned her degree in a recent ‘beauty hags’ YouTube video, I’m sure. For some reason, I think it actually a *social* sciences degree which makes her claims about being having insider knowledge re science even more of a joke*


*that is not a dig at social science graduates, btw. Its just that it in no way qualifies her to understand skincare science.

As for Hiron’s, all her ‘qualifications’ seem to be short training courses run by brands on their own products and techniques. So basically product sales training. Not the same thing as professional qualifications from external bodies.

Found it! Nadine Baggott did a Psychology degree which ended up with an bit of sociology and a politics. About 19mins in.


Makes stuff like this La Roche Posay marketing blurb look embarrassing, doesn’t it?

I think it's questionable that she's on This Morning promoting products / brands that she has or has had a commercial relationship with but doesn't have to provide any disclosure to inform viewers. The lines are getting very blurred between her being a commercially minded blogger / instagrammer / author and "expert". How can the tv appearances be free from bias when so much of what she says, shows and promotes is dictated by her relationship (££) with the brand. See also Sali Hughes - journalist or marketer?

I just assumed she had a degree in chemistry. I really shouldn't be this gullible anymore
It's like someone saying: I have a degree in phonetics which is a science, so listen to my skincare advice based on... vowels?

Exactly this. They just aren't Independent in their recommendations. Almost everything they promote should be #AD.

This doesn't mean I only take advice from chemist's or dermatologist's, on the contrary, but when you mention on numerous occasions that you have a science degree, or imply it, that does give you much more credibility than Hi, I'm XY, I like to try new skin care releases, which is completely fine, but then you know what you can expect.

I like her honesty in admitting she has those expensive interventions to keep her skin looking juicy and plump .

Perhaps she should change her handle from ‘skincare activist’ to ‘Skincare Activist with additional help because I can’.

Always thought she has cheek fillers and I was right, She has changed so much from her old vlogs with Ruth Crilley.
