CF couldn't deal with the consequences of her behaviours and the prospect of a court hearing would have reflected on her future career. She needed to be in the limelight and loved for positive reasons.

I'm sure her friends will have suffered a lot mentally in the aftermath of the suicide...They are victims here, blamed for perceived neglect when they must have provided her with support which was lacking from immediate family. Even basic support. Nobody can prevent a suicide if the individual is determined to escape from their life.

Since when did the media need solid evidence to print stories 😂 they print bullshit all the time
but if this was proven to be incorrect they would be blasted!
falsely accusing a grieving mother of posting messages like this?
They really must have confirmed it was her before running with this or they would on very dangerous grounds,

this is a fucking mess, social media have been blamed for her death, yet her mum uses social media to publicly accuse him of “killing” her?

so if he then goes on to kill himself? 🤷‍♀️
Or his new girlfriend is effected?

I know they say hurt people hurt people, I feel for her, but it begs the question have Caroline’s family learned nothing from this if they’re now using social media to hit out at others involved.

fact is Caroline was unwell, no one thing killed her, no one relationship or comment or paparazzi photo or argument or drug or drink, she died because she was unwell and she couldn’t cope with life.
her mum needs to let her daughter rest in peace and get help to cope, Instagram isn’t it.

I agree with this. I find it really problematic the friends being blamed, they tried to get her help with calling the ambulance which was refused.
They had their own lives that they needed and wanted to get home to. Mum needs to start looking at herself if she really needs someone to blame, where was she, and how did this all begin?
Although at the end of the day, there is no blame to be placed on anyone else. Caroline made her own choice, as difficult as that may be to understand. Her life, her choice to end it. I would always recommend a call to The Samaritans if you are feeling that way, they can help you through the moment, or at the least just sit and listen to how you feel ❤

Having known a situation very very similar to that night, I am inclined to believe he called the police in a vindictive way. Thats not to say he shouldnt have called them. Facts are, as far as the public are aware, that she attacked him and he was a victim of that.

For a grown woman, it seems she was actually just a lost girl who couldnt manage her emotions and behaviours.
Given that she was (reportedly) terrified of the police body cam footage being used in court, it seems that even if the intention of his call to the police had been vindictive, it was proved to be a justified action given her behaviour. It's outrageous that people in these threads are blaming him, he was the victim here and I still think it's unjustified that people don't believe he can move on. More time has passed since her death than the length of time they were reportedly in a relationship.

The media is a disgusting institution, they definitely went to town over her downfall. 100% they love to see a woman being ripped down. We’ve seen it time and time again how some celebs will get absolutely vilified (sometimes quite rightly) and others will get off a lot lighter.

That said, I’ve always thought “live by the sword, die by the sword”. CF courted the media when it suited her, she was part of that world. She chose to be in an industry where your every move would be under scrutiny, had relationships with very high profile men etc. She did not simply present her programmes then pop off for a nice quiet home life out of the spotlight. She craved and wanted the life she had and she accepted what it came with - even though it was no doubt awful at times.

Doesn’t mean in anyway that the media don’t have a part to play, they made that situation so much worse than it needed to be. However, the flip side of negative intrusive press is glamorous media events, paid for interviews, magazine spreads and articles etc. And that is what CF had used to elevate her career from regular presenter to “UK A list” friend of the stars.

This is not at all what I am doing. She said she flicked a phone at him which is also considered to be assault and therefore domestic violence.

I just don't agree with publicly repeating something that has not been proven (smashing a lamp on his head) and could not be confirmed and in fact it is only Caroline that would know whether she used a phone or a lamp or anything else - and she is dead.
Lewis was asleep.

I really do not think it is ok to repeat something about a dead person, especially a person that killed herself due to her poor mental health (!), that nobody can confirm and nobody knows.

Why is it not enough to say she hit him in his sleep?

Where does the obsession with the lamp come from and why is it not ok to say his injury was minimal (which even the Daily Fail said and can be seen on the photo)?
---

Yes, this is what I am saying.
She said she flicked a phone at him. This is also battery.
He said she hit him with a lamp. Also battery.
If there would have been a trial this issue might have been determined based on the evidence provided.

if you conclude that I am saying there was no assault because I say that the lamp theory had not been proven then this is a misconception.

Even if she would have slapped him with her hand only, without a hard object, it would have been assault.
We “get it”, you apparantly have a “law degree”. And we can’t disagree with you because according to the inquest legally he weren’t lamped

What did he think would happen to those photos? Just because hes a victim doesn't excuse this horrid behaviour. If your scared and shaken up the last thing you'd want to be doing is sending photos to everyone in order to get them published. This is exactly what happened.
Assume you have some kind of evidence to back this up? That he's sent them to multiple people to get them published? How do you know that's exactly what happened?

I've sent photos to a friend when I was a victim of a crime. Asked her to keep a copy in case something happened to mine. Nothing sinister in it, just a record of what happened. I took a photo when someone crashed into my car too. Pretty standard.

That's the bit that I don't understand, either. I read that the paramedics asked her to see her GP the next morning and she agreed. Why didn't the friends stay until the GP had been to see her? I would imagine she had a private GP and a home visit wouldn't be out of the question. Even if she was raging at them to leave her alone? The paramedic who attended the flat after her death said she'd been dead for a few hours but the friend supposedly only popped to the shops. How long after her friends left did she take her own life?
That confused me too. I maybe just assumed it but at the time I thought she told her friend to go to the shop, bolted the door behind her and took her own life.

I must have read it somewhere that the friend returned and couldn’t get in so panicked and phoned Caroline’s dad who came straight away. Maybe all that was just what the press reported.

I know grief is a horrendous thing and I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child...but I don’t agree with her mum blaming the Police Officer at the enquiry. It’s never just one thing and she sounded like a very troubled woman. The Police and CPS would have been annihilated if they hadn’t proceeded.

If anyone is to blames for an adult being so emotionally fragile, it’s their upbringing. I don’t think her mum should blame herself - by her age, CF should have put any childhood demons to rest but it certainly isn’t anyone else’s fault.

Her mother‘s behaviour is really odd and IMO says something about the home CF grow up in

Why is it illegal? Because one is a teacher? Ok so take away the job titles and you have exactly the same situation which you were very comfortable with defending
Yes, that’s exactly why it’s illegal. Well done for finally understanding it.

P.S. Caroline Flack wasn’t Harry Styles’ school teacher and I haven’t been defending it. I’ve just said it’s not illegal.

As far as I’m concerned, if two people who are complete strangers to me are having a legal relationship, I really haven’t got the time or the energy to give a toss. It baffles me how wound up some of you get about it.

First time poster. Like some have already said, CF’s suicide has moved me in a way I wouldn’t have expected. Not a particular fan but very saddened by the mess she got herself into and could see no way out of. From a browse of Lou Teasedales Insta I cant help thinking she surrounded herself with some people Who at least present themselves as vain and vapid. I think Lewis shared the bloody photograph on his Insta as well, saying it wasn’t his blood. This leads to the obvious conclusion of whose it was. Whatever his motive for doing so, giving it further amplification won’t have helped. I can’t help but wonder if she was continuing to maintain their relationship (albeit without contact) to try and keep him onside for the trial? Apologies if this is cynical but I’d put money on him selling his story soon.

Just finished watching this and have absolutely no clue what the point was in making this. Her mother is deluded. Having watched the previous channel 4 doc I really felt for Caroline and it didn’t attempt to paint her as innocent and I think it covered her mental health struggles in a really understanding way. Yes she was hounded by the press but she also courted them and ultimately it was her MH struggles throughout life that led to her taking her life.

That Disney thing was honestly tin hat shite

Thank you for your service @Mrsturnerreturns, it can't be easy, nor do you expect or receive any recognition or acclaim, but I thank you anyway 🕊
Thank you so much for posting this. I am very appreciative of you saying that. My cohort were an incredible bunch, most of them are still taking calls. It’s one of the most rewarding things a person can do, being there for someone during their darkest hours and we are very lucky to have this service in our country. Thank you so much 💜

She’s only just turned 21, 1D ended in 2016 so she was only just 17 when the group finished, she might have been on the payroll as a “make up artist” but she was just a kid, I’d doubt she was doing any actual work!
1D weren't renowned for their elaborate make up either, they weren't exactly Kiss.

Absolutely agree, that’s why I was hesitant about posting my judgemental comment. I have a child and I can only imagine...

I was recalling the recent media coverage of the PC who tragically died while being towed behind a speeding car for a few miles, after having got his feet caught in straps at the back of the vehicle during a police stop. The men driving the car have been found guilty of manslaughter and his wife and family are very angry and upset about the outcome. The PC’s wife made a strong statement after the hearing, his mother has tweeted about the injustice but none of them ranted and raved in a formal, public setting or singled out their blame for the judge, for example. They’re very different circumstances but I couldn’t help but note the difference in the decorum. It’s understandable but I’d guess quite uncommon behaviour during an inquest.

There but for the grace of God go I.

Not trying to be sanctimonious, but I strongly suspect this type of outburst is very common during/after inquests. By their nature, inquests are about unexpected/unexplained deaths, so usually concerning suicide or similar. The families will be going through heightened emotions and anger/bitterness will almost certainly be at the forefront of their thoughts or motivations.

PC Harper's wife and family have indeed been very dignified. But I don't think it's very helpful or compassionate to make that as a 'like for like' comparison. The woman is going through a hell that none of us can (and hopefully ever will) contemplate. I agree with a lot of the observations you made about her and no parent is perfect. But a parent that has lost their child is a shell of a person.

Caroline’s mums statement is interesting. I wonder which friends she is referring to. And it makes me think that Lewis wouldn’t have been welcome at the funeral.

Is it possible that the the people in the photos at the wake were Not invited to the funeral and had drinks amongst themselves.

I can’t get my head around the Lewis and Lottie publicity and the timing of it. I’m sure they could have been more careful to not be spotted together around the time of the inquest.

She’s only young and has experienced a lot of loss herself, but it doesn’t sit right with me that she is Lou’s friend and considering how close Caroline was to Lou that it would be acceptable to start a relationship with him.

Am I a dafty for thinking does it matter which object or was? Obv a lamp is bigger but lamp/phone/other random household item? She threw something at him when he was asleep therefore wanting to inflict pain whatever object it was

Sorry I wasn’t saying she was tipping them off (I don’t to know if that was always the case)I was meaning that with most celebs it’s part and parcel of their life, for them it’s normality
Absolutely. There is also wide spread practice of lesser known faces setting up photo shoots together with the same press photographers so they can sell the photos together.
It’s usually a shoot of them exercising in a park or frolicking on a beach.
Some people do it for money and others do it for notoriety. I am not sure what Lewis’ motive is but it would appear he is working with them.

The act of killing yourself is mental abuse to your loved ones. Her boyfriend and her family will have live with and carry that for the rest their lives. By all accounts she'd threatened to do it with a previous partner, she knew there was a problem and should have sought help for her own mental health before going into another toxic relationship - unlike most of us she earned more than enough to pay for therapy.
I don’t think anyone commits suicide to mentally abuse others.

If you are mentally unstable enough to kill yourself you are unlikely to be thinking about anything else. I also think you can be so unwell that successful therapy seems beyond reach.

Mental illness does not discriminate. You could have all the money in the world and still be unable to control suicidal feelings/urges.
