She did admit to it although pleaded not guilty at the plea hearing. She doesn't deny it in the statement now released from the family. She very clearly did not want her mental health problems - and the self-harming - to become public knowledge which it would have done. I guess that, on its own, would have caused her problems with her job. She had clearly been advised that the case would be dropped but wasn't and so she faced not only a trial, but the disclosure of everything she didn't want people to know about her. It was pretty much a lose / lose situation. Even if she was found not guilty, would ITV bosses want to employ someone that was self-harming? Doubtful.

It's a heartbreaking situation, but she hadn't been sacked and was probably going back to it after the trial as they left the door open. She had a lot more support than a normal person that gets the sack just like that once charged with a crime. I've had a family member falsely accused of something, he lost his job and had a long wait for justice to be served. It was terrible and we were worried about him. Celebrity or not it's a terrible thing to go through.

It was just coming up to the trial and she would have been able to show people it was accidental. I believe that she didn't want to harm him, but in the heat of the moment it's quite likely she deliberately hit him, then regretted it immediately.
How do you know that she had more support? ITV say they offered her support but it doesn't sound like that was the case from her own statement. ITV are responsible for allowing people like Piers Morgan on television. They don't mind harassing women every day. I don't know why everyone assumes they are telling the truth when they say they offered her support.

I wonder who did. Who had access to that? Only the police ? CPS? Caroline? Lewis?
Who released the photograph of the blood all over the bedroom? The police officer comment about it looking like a scene from a horror movie - or whatever it is he said, what an odd thing for a police officer to say. I'd imagine a met police officer would be fairly used to seeing blood and something slightly more concerning than someone self harming. Unless they have lived a very sheltered professional life.

Sorry, I don't follow. In what way?
I mean her not being allowed to speak out. I agree that she shouldn’t have been allowed to, but also think the papers shouldn’t have released a lot of the information that they did (like the photo), at least until after the trial when the full story could be told.

Itv said the door was open for her. She was a big tallent at itv, I'm in no doubt she got way more support than your average person that gets sacked just like that when involved in a crime.

But yes she does get the scrutiny from the public eye, 6 of one half a dozen of another.

I'm not trying to deminish Caroline's struggles, just saying this one person has all the focus when lots have the same struggle outside of the public eye.

I agree the photo shouldn't have been published. The police are the only professional people involved that I think need an inquiry asap to see what happened. The CPS haven't shown any misconduct.

The picture showing the victims head is ridiculous and pointless. His hair and hands could have been used to cover parts of the wound, to make it look like a tiny scratch.

I also think it's pretty horrible to show a victim's injuries, with him saying "She didn't hurt me much. This isn't even a bad cut."

We should not be minimising domestic violence, and the effect that it has on victims. Whatever happened that night, he has ended up wounded.

I think that tells us how bad it was if someone from the police said it looked like a horror movie. Self harming, a head injury and an argument could result in that.

Agreed. That photograph should never have been published.

I wonder how the press got hold of it and the one of LB's head (which looks like it was taken in custody)

It also looks more than a "tiny scratch" to me - it looks like a pretty deep gash.

I do actually think one of her twin sister's children has experienced this.
I feel if that is the case then AB is trying to do a number of things... 1) make people ask questions, why that charity and as someone said not a Mental Health Charity? And 2) make it clear that he knew her in ways others didn’t.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the NDA was in relation to this and Caroline didn’t want her family’s business used as ammunition in a very public argument

Andrew Brady really needs to stop now ! They hadn’t been in a relationship for over a year!

I am still trying to catch up so please shout if I’ve missed anything here or if someone has already raised this on previous pages.
Does anyone else think something odd/sinister may be at play here? I found Amanda Holden’s comments weird...‘I am certain there is more to her story... the truth will out’... ‘May those responsible for this lack of humanity be brave enough to admit their shame...’

Also found the references to her finally speaking out a little strange. I’m not saying she didn’t take her own life. It’s all really tragic. But I suppose what I’m getting at, is, did something happen to her in the industry that she was going to speak out about / reveal? Was she going to out someone for something they did to her?

And in her unreleased statement she said ‘The problem with brushing things under the carpet is .... they are still there and one day someone is going to lift that carpet up and all you are going to feel is shame and embarrassment.’ And that she’d been having an emotional breakdown for a long time...
Might be way off but can’t help but speculate whether this whole thing might be bigger than this one incident...
Yes. In Andrew Brady’s statement he suggested CF at one point traded stories to that snake Dan Wootton in order to keep a bigger story out of the press..

Not a word about her boyfriend in that post. She knew she'd screwed her career at itv, obviously in need of serious help. If she'd changed her plea to guilty, nothing would be been revealed in court, her management advised against to keep her career going.
I also note nothing about social media, so all the #bekind stuff looks like the usual self pitying rot from the usual suspects.

How would
He’s probably only released it now because he wouldn’t have been able to do it whilst it would have been shown in court as evidence. And let’s face it, that pig has probably been sat on that pic for a while now
How would he get the pic I first place?

Caroline’s family have released a statement that she wanted to upload a few weeks before her death. I feel awful for her reading this 😢
At least she had some friends around her. Her mum said her sister was there for her her whole life. This whole thing is all so very sad.

Exactly! Also, what might appear to be a superficial injury ie scratch could be a more serious injury under the surface, especially where heads are concerned. Sometimes head injuries can cause serious problems to the victim years later.

You see, to me that suggests sensationalism. Because it was a celebrity. Police see a lot worse than a bleeding head and self-harming every day and if they don't, I doubt they're Met police.

So the article that has been shared this morning just goes to prove that you don’t know what happens behind closed doors and you cannot for one second believe anything that the press says. I hope all those armchair CSI melts who have been calling her a domestic abuser all week feel ashamed of themselves!
It is not for Ms Flack to decide whether she was a domestic abuser or not. It was for the court to decide. Just because she said it was an accident does not make it an accident. Yes it is very sad. But one persons “truth” isn’t necessarily reflective of what happened. Like you I wasn’t there so I don’t know the full facts, but if someone phones 999 and says their partner is trying to kill them, something is clearly amiss.

If she'd pleaded guilty, the facts of the case (from the CPS's point of view) would still have been outlined in court and the body cam footage and 999 call would still have been seen/heard I believe. It would need to be to give the magistrates the full picture so they could sentence appropriately.

CF's lawyer would then have had a chance to put forward mitigation for her.

But pleading guilty would have saved the onslaught of what was scheduled to be a two day very public trial.

I’m not sure how she lost her home? Didn’t she put her house up for sale in September? And she rightly was replaced while she was charged. It wouldn’t have been fair to let her carry on with such a serious charge against her. Had she been cleared, the door should have been left open.

I don’t think she was a domestic abuser but she was clearly very unwell and if she could hurt herself like that then she could have hurt others too. The police couldn’t just drop a domestic incident with that amount of violence. I think it’s awful that they’ve released a picture of his head, imagine if a woman did that. I can totally get why she felt horrendous about it all. It’s so sad that she didn’t see all the other wonderful people in her life. But to her she lost the two things that mattered most, her career and her boyfriend as even afterwards they probably would have given her a restraining order that had she have breached would have put her in prison. If only she got help earlier. It’s really stuck with me this one.

Oh god, I've just read a tweet from a journalist at the inquest confirming she hanged herself. It really is horrendous.

Lost her home as in had to move because of the press camped outside according to Chris O'Dowd. She was renting a loft in Stoke Newington when she died (where she was found)

Or it could be that she had to move to give LB somewhere to stay. He'd moved in with her I believe and obviously they were banned from having any contact.

Mail Online said the house was taken off the market when she lost the LI gig.
