I wondered about that too. I don’t know if we’ll ever find out.
I thought it could be about why the CPS were still pressing charges etc I don’t know much about the legal system and totally understand why there are things in place to protest people but it did come across like they were making an example out of her especially if they were right in that it was an accident. But we don’t really know what happened so it’s hard to say.

Because for reasons I can't quite understand, you started to compare this to the 11 year age gap in your marriage. That's not the point and you know it. The point is, this was a person in their 30's having a relationship with a 17 year old. It's one thing for an age gap from your 20's onwards, but this was a kid! A lot of people don't think that's ok and other developed countries consider that illegal, for good reason.
The reason is because @NessieNoo92 thought I liked young boys, so I explained that they were wrong and I married someone 11 years older. Hope you understand where the 11 years came from now.

You also said it was illegal and I said it wasn’t. If you and other people don’t like that - petition.the.government. Moaning about it here isn’t going to change anything, is it?

I'm not even going to try and assume what really happened the night she got arrested I just don't understand Lewis Burton pointing the finger at cps and police when he was the one that phoned them and reported assault. What did he think was going to happen after phoning police? Arrests and charges would be pretty standard after that. He is now saying she didn't assault him so why did he phone the police and say that she did

Sorry, but Andrew is an absolute c#nt. He gleefully livestreamed getting his "disgusting, toxic' CF tattoo removed. As well as pouncing on an opportunity to sell his NDA agreement to the rags, despite the fact that NDAs are absolutely common practice in that world. Lawyers have to protect their clients interests.

Part of the problem here is c list celebs being unable to announce every second of their private lives on social media. He wanted to hurt her (he probably felt justified), and he succeeded.

Yep. And those toxic little 1Ders are now in their late 20s and still hate her. I wonder if there is any truth in the rumours that Cowell (misguidedly) suggest she be Harry's beard in those early days?
This is awful. Is this a actual magazine!?!

I've had a look back at twitter and links say 'a photo emerged', then he shared it quoting bullshit. He's guilty in his part for sharing it. 😕 Either way it should never have come out before a court case.

There are some really great posts on this thread, thank you for sharing.
I am a bit fed up of people minimising the violence. Yes she was not guilty of anything yet, as her trial had not been held. But she had been charged which suggests a reasonable allegation, and the evidence reported from the magistrates hearing painted a picture of intentional violence towards her boyfriend. However, in the trial we may have seen the facts on which the prosecution was based were not robust - we will now never know.

but I really hate people glossing over it as just an accident or “bet he was giving it as good as her” etc. Yes couples row but violence towards any person is never ok unless in self defence which the law recognises. There was no suggestion of this in CFs case from what we know. Nor that she was unfit to stand trial due to mental illness. Clearly she was troubled but mental illness isn’t a free card to do what you want. Actions have consequences. I can’t just say I’m stressed and anxious about my workload at work and stabbed my boss so that’s ok.
I agree about the Samaritans as well. It’s an important charity but not equipped to handle mental health illnesses that require medication and / or counselling. I think the influencers and celebs posting the number everywhere is so disingenuous. Clearly these people have never had mental health problems otherwise they wouldn’t be suggesting a quick chat to the Samaritans as a fix all.
Her solicitors may well have brought up the issue of capacity as the trial got closer. Although I suspect the potential of her being deemed unfit for trial, would expose all of the things she didn't want to have exposed.

I genuinely feel that what drove her to take her life was the fear of her behaviour being 'outed' and shame that the image she displayed/portrayed to the public was going to be exposed.

She wasn't ashamed to admit she struggled at times. She'd openly spoken in interviews of her experiences of being in the public eye, pressure on her lifestyle and relationship. Mental health wasn't taboo. That said her job also brought her amazing opportunities and a lifestyle many could only dream of. She courted the media and they too kept her in their sights.

Whatever happened on THAT night, the releasing of evidence, the body cam footage, 999 call, photos of the scene etc mortified her.
We don't know for certain how many times IF ANY she'd previously acted in this way but THIS night it came on top for her.

The CPS quite rightly have to assess the evidence and decide whether to proceed regardless of whether the victim wants to press charges. Clearly there was enough to proceed.
This incident COULD have been the catalyst for her to finally take charge of her behaviour, see that she needed help, admit to herself that this lifestyle couldn't continue. She was in a position more than most of us to get the best help available.
Rather than do that she only envisioned the damage to her image this WOULD cause. She basically acted like her own judge and jury. She'd written herself off and sadly took dreadful, drastic action.
Whether this decision was made 'soundly' or was altered due to medication, drink or substance remains to be seen.

Who knows what the judge would decide. It's not even certain that a custodial sentence was even a given, going guilty doesn't necessarily mean jail. Chances are she'd have got a community order, suspended sentence and damages to victim and seek treatment for herself.
I'm unsure if information of any previous incidents IF THERE WERE ANY would be released to show it wasn't perhaps a one off. Her actions finally catching up with her.

Regardless she's suffered and paid the ultimate price. Damned if she did, damned if she didn't. Just bloody tragic.
Everything is so true what you’ve said ! And obviously we don’t know what the prosecution would have brought up anything like this happening before/ex boyfriends ! It was definitely the shame and it was too much

Yeah definitely 100% people have limits to what they can take, on the basis of her (its really just about how I think your mind is set as everyones different) it has been said she felt like after winning Strictly Come Dancing like there was cling film over her when she was waking up just couldnt get out of bed and coinciding with the fact the head I think it was who said how she was or more generally how people at where ever she studied think it was dance and drama said people who attend those places tend to be very self critical, say there was something seemingly fine to viewers but to them they hated it might have been what they felt like, just a general assumption to be honest even going on from that (I would have to say I am like this myself though in the tech industry in that context) creative people are incredibly sensitive genuinely creative people are (though doing reality shows for the most part she did do music I think and drama in a sort of college)

With the feelings after that competition of course this is just an assumption but when stressed out enough can be completely uncharacteristic of people plus with this video when sharing something about how it all came about as such, some can behave yea completely uncharacteristically horrible (as with the hitting of her partner I suppose), I can remember when having an argument with a creditor was completely unlike me just huge amounts of stress to the point they refused the refunding of charges (to be honest can't blame them for that at all, not that any of thats acceptable in anyway whatsoever).

The thing about its not as such uncommon for those having what I think with her was some kind of break down mentally, I am almost positive most would say they don't want people around but is the worst thing anyone can possibly do, much like this (though least slightly dubious if some actually said such things but yeah least resembles that sort of

Also yeah doing far far better than then thats for certain thanks :)
I think being in the public eye and having to present this picture-perfect life, when all could be falling apart behind the scenes, must place somebody already struggling with their MH, into an even more impossible and cornered position. Add self-criticism and the negativity from press/trolls into the mix and it’s a like a ticking timebomb.

We all present a mask to the World to some degree and I can imagine the pressure of doing that when all’s not well, when you also have paps camped outside of your house and trying to effectively catch you out for their next embellished, bullshit story, must be pretty draining. Personally, I can’t think of anything worse than being famous and scrutinised to such a degree - yes, the money and lifestyle would be nice, but I value my anonymity and not having to look over my shoulder all of the time above any desire for that. 😬

And i’m very glad that things are much better for you now Katie, that’s really good to hear. 😊👍🏼

How lovely, you might regret you said it! Thank you so much, it's very appreciated ❤❤😍 xxx

This is a really interesting article from an experienced criminal prosecutor re. Why CPS went ahead
This is an interesting article however, there’s a difference between Caroline Flack & the poor chap who tragically took his own life because he felt he would be ‘outed’ by his court case. Caroline Flack appears to have been more concerned with a loss of status than any shame, regret or remorse for her behaviour. I would also say that there are some so-called offences that haven’t kept pace with society that perhaps shouldn’t be brought to court and others like DV that need more resource to tackle.

an unpublished instagram post......so she wrote it but didnt press the button, it was sat there ready to go?
Yeah she had posted on her story that she wasn't going to keep quiet any longer and she was going to tell her side of the story...but nothing else ever came of it. She had obviously been warned by her "advisor" not to post anything in regards to the DV charge. Pity she didn't just post it quickly and take the repercussions of posting it as it could've changed the hate she was getting.

Why the hell would he need a beard at his age.. And what 31 year old woman is going to take all the shit she got for a charade? It doesn't make any sense. I haven't read beyond this page but I sense Larry shippers are around... 🙄

It wasn't. They were just having a laugh. Anyone could see they fancied each other
Because Simon Cowell was trying to sell them as a boy band. And notoriously boy bands believe that the crazy girl fans support them more when they ‘believe’ they have a chance with their idol.

Tons of boy band members were too scared to come out as didn’t want to upset management/ the fans ... Stephen gately anyone? It’s really not that unusual. And anyway The rumour is Simon asked her to do it and in return she got a big hosting job in return which would basically launch her ‘mainstream’ career..... obviously that’s a rumour but she did then present the X factor??

still not sure how something that happened about 8 years ago is relevant to the current situation and why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist over it. She’s dead ffs let it go

It could be referenced as part of the Police complaints commission Investigation. The evidence is looked at again, then they say what they think happened and in the end their conclusions reported to the press. The full report would be more private and given only to the family and coroner.

It says here what details may be released in the final report that the IOPC publish, although my guess is that they’d mention that they reviewed the bodycam footage and their conclusions on that, but may not disclose what was actually on it.

She had posted on Instagram stories that she would be speaking out but then nothing materialised and she didn't post again until the photos of her with her dog. Presumably she was advised by Management and Legal team not to post anything.

The paper didn't say that they had seen the officers notes, the reference was 'in the officers notes'
The Court hearing was in an open Court, press etc could attend. The Press would have been there. They would have made notes from what was referenced in the Court Room.
Thank you for explaining, I didn’t know that all this could be reported before the verdict had been announced

On the flip side he could have been checking to make sure he had enough time that she wouldn't be able to save him. Or that he wanted her to be the one to find him and no one else so was making sure she would be the next person to come in the door
I know I’m just saying that’s what the family has believed all these years 🙂

Her managers Instagram is quite telling I think, such a strange world where they can plaster on the smiles and happiness at the drop of a hat. The red carpet videos are always interesting. Yet our kids aspire to this world which is entirely false, they see an illusion, I hope people start to understand that now.

They're selling a brand/product, and not them. Sometimes you're lucky and the brand is a true reflection of the real person, but all too often you find that "never meet your heroes/idols" is the soundest advice you'll ever need.

I mix in these kind of circles, but mainly with musicians (some from before I was born! :D ), and thankfully the majority are sound, but some are utter knobheads, in spite of their nice guy/girl image.
