It seems that it was the thought of her ‘dirty laundry’ being aired in court and then splashed across the papers had a big part to play in it from what I’ve read.
as above, if she had plead guilty that would have all been avoided though wouldn’t it? She seems to have gotten bad advice.
Even if she'd pled guilty, the facts of the case would still be outlined when sentencing her although not in as much detail (I think - that's certainly what happens when a defendant pleads guilty in a murder trial)

Not sure if the bodycam footage, crime scene photographs and 999 call would have been made public if she had.

It would have saved the media onslaught of a two day trial though.

You can still feel empathy for the fact that someone has died so unnecessarily
In the first comment I left on here, you will see I said it was a shame. A life is a life at the end of the day. I've been in that position, and thankfully I survived. Suicide is awful, no one should have to feel like it's their only option. But even so, accountability for actions doesn't just disappear. I still have the same thoughts on the situation regardless. I'm not going to do exactly what all the celebrities are being bashed for on here, and give Flack a free pass now and paint her as an angel.

I really liked her, watched her for years. She was bright, articulate, funny, talented, presented with such ease, nothing was forced. She was also very relatable, had problems like we all have. The DV thing we really do not fully understand, and won’t now there is no court case. But just for comparison Geoffrey Boycott is getting a knighthood....
I concur. Very relatable. I remember watching her on strictly and rooting for her to win. She could sometimes look so sad and fragile during those dance routines snd felt the music passionately

The self harming because she read texts from other women - gaslighting. My ex girlfriend started cutting herself whenever I did *anything* she didn’t like as a way to manipulate me. So it leaves a bad taste for me.
I’m so sorry that happened to you.

It is really hard to find the right drug to help depression/anxiety etc. I was on lexapro which didn’t do much and then seroquel which made me like a zombie with muscle twitches and nightmares. Coming off them I felt like I was dying the pain was horrible. They never mention the withdrawals you get. I hope you find something that helps. Please stay safe.
I started doing yoga, meditation and then discovered I have an auto immune condition which I now believe the inflammation that comes with it was responsible for my mental health issues. I don’t even believe in drug therapy for most depression/anxiety related issues now. They do more harm than good. But thank you so much for your message 😘

Aw the end of love island really made me sad. Ian’s voice always sounds so enthusiastic but (obviously) he sounded so heartbroken and sad  And the picture of her with the years. Idk it just made my heart break

I work in a customer facing role and am often subjected to abuse. I think the kind of twats that abuse me will be the first to share memes about "be kind always, you never know what they're going though".
Carolines law is a load of wank. It's just people saying say what I want to hear or shut up.
someone posted earlier that people drinking and taking cocaine are 16 times more likely to commit suicide. That along with having mental health issues is most likely to have killed the love island presenter.
if someone is struggling and in a vulnerable state mentally... booze and cocaine are a lethal combination ... it makes the paranoia worse unfortunately she was her own worst enemy in her hours of need.

He quite clearly rang the paps and posed for these photos. Ridiculous. As if the paps are gonna know his location without him telling them.
I work in journalism - a very very different brand to this type of work (investigative). But still, I use open source material all the time to scrutinise where someone might be or deduct some other bit of evidence / theory and put together clues from social media. Or even just other reports in papers. Let alone other public source documents. That's without having the resources and will of the tabloids and paps who WILL physically go along and effectively 'stalk'. The depths some of these types of journos will go to is very low. Have a look at the whole phone hacking saga and the dark arts. Most of it is just human arts.

Edit; My point for posting this is to try and demonstrate how easy it is to find someone using their social media. The amount of data that people put out into the public domain, even accidentally, is incredibly vast. There is also something called 'jigsaw identification' - where drawing on different clues you can hone in on or confirm something. The little details are very revealing. In RL I warn as many of my friends as I can about how easy it is to do this and to protect themselves. Again, that's without those that will be devious, make phone calls pretending to be someone else to confirm if someone is staying somewhere, or speak to friends / bystanders / pay people for little bit of tips to help them along the way.

But why would she have turned a table over in the police station hours later?

Surely that would only really happen if she was still in a really agitated state? (like having to be physically restrained by police on the ground)
It’s not possible to turn over a table or chair in the police station they’re all fixed to the floor! (Never beef arrested... work in crime!)

What’s people’s thoughts on this

I’ve seen tweets saying itv failed her but protected ant after his drink driving scandal. Why when someone dies do people have to drag someone else down with them
I don’t think it’s necessarily dragging someone else down. It’s looking at comparisons in how we treat different people. I don’t think CF’s alleged crime (alleged because let’s not forget the lass was never found guilty of anything) is any worse than the actual crime Ant committed (actual crime because he admitted it!).
Ant was well protected, looked after in the bosom of ITV if you will. CF? Not so much.

I have been cringing at the #bekind brigade’s instasham crap. Openly blaming Lewis for her death, apparently caused by him deciding to call the police after she assaulted him, followed by #hashtagbullshit. Commenting Lewis should ‘of’ dropped the charges. Their tributes are littered with basic errors which are an insult. ‘fly with the angles’ which angles would that be, right angles? 🤭 The Zeleb tributes are just as self serving, with dreadful photographs. All chosen where because celeb looks good. It’s not all about Caroline, don’t you know! Stef Davies, Kerry Katona and Katie Price are at the forefront of this nonsense. Just waiting for Daniella Westbrook to post a tribute. That’ll make it a full house, BINGO.
Pointing blame at others after a suicide is a very common way for people react. projecting their own feelings of guilt and grief onto someone else to in order to feel better about their own self loathing. Sadly It’s a very common occurrence and It can be very destructive and hurtful to those closest to CF. Think before you type

I don't know much about caroline just going by what I'm reading online about her. Seems she seriously assaulted her partner and was up in court in the next while for sentencing and has allegedly taken her own life today.
I agree that if she had been a man who had assaulted his female partner there would not be as much of an out pouring of grief as there is for her but the justice system is notorious for being overly heavy handed with women who commit violent crimes compared to their Male counterparts who usually get a slap on the wrist. There's a book called doubly deviant doubly damned which explores this. Regardless it's a terrible thing to happen to anyone to feel like suicide was the only way out

Ok... but I strongly doubt his face looked like hers did after. It’s not a logical argument to say “they both lashed out” if the balance of physical power is so skewed as it usually is. In an argument, a couple both have the power to insult one another, to say the most awful things etc and it’s up to them how far they go. If one person takes it up a notch, it’s at least understandable if the other retorts in kind.

But when only one side has the physical power to truely hurt, dominate and overpower it doesn’t work like that. That’s the power an adult has over a child too - you don’t use your strength to win an argument. Even if they do hit you, it doesn’t justify retaliating... and continuing. No one could look at those pictures of Rihanna’s face and claim it was ‘self defence’
Never once did I claim it was self defence nor condone the violence. But if you are willing to engage in violent acts you are opening yourself up to being hurt. Both have said it was a very toxic relationship on both sides. I’m taller and heavier that Bruce Lee. I wouldn’t last a second. I work with people with challenging behaviour, size means nothing. My most violent offenders have been small and slight. Every action has a reaction I’m afraid, whether that reaction is justifiable or not.
