CB lives in a complete fantasy world. Anyone remember when she would talk about her career in publishing?! It must have been before her pumping debut at the age of 25.
I was thinking about this yesterday. Also, didn’t she say she was a nanny in Italy too?

Is this new policy? It's been quite a few years since I've had a baby and they were routinely washed on the day of birth. The midwife would ask if you wanted to use baby bath or not, I think it was becoming a new thing to only use water back then. They were very strict about bathing in the nursery too for reasons I stated before.
I was a midwife for 5 years and never washed a baby at birth. Rarely, some babies were bathed before they went home.

I had my baby in May was in the hospital for 4 nights and was never offered to bath him. We were told to top and tail for the first few weeks as their skin is so sensitive.

Same here. Although I see her point about why do people care/have an opinion on how other mothers do it...? Very much an each to their own situation I think

I work on a post natal ward, we don't offer Bath demos any more because studies have shown that babies don't have the thermoregularoty mechanisms that children and adults do, basically they can't control their core temperature and can get poorly very quickly as a new born when exposed to extreme temperatures.
I have supported with cleaning babies just a top to toe as for some families it is a cultural thing, but yeah, CB that's why the midwives were shocked, because we now know its not good for babies.

My baby was born 2008 and advice then was not wash for the first 24 hours at least. They then supervised me bathing him the next evening but they said not to put him on water but to wrap in a towel and do one limb at a time then body then head last.

I’ve been blocked!!!
How people feel they can open up minds or progress a cause if they aren’t open to debate or discourse. Shutting people down only perpetuates what CB is fighting for. You can’t have equality if you are more ‘equal’ than those around you....

Followed, couple of hours later unfollowed.

All I got from watching some of her highlights, briefly, was aggression.

Nope.

I sent her a DM about the baby bathing thing suggesting it may have been due to infection control and not the colour of her skin. I wasn’t rude or anything. Instant block!
It seems you can't tell her anything that isn't praise. She said herself she will block anyone that isn't positive.

I get the message about white supremacy and how it is uncomfortable but there are other accounts that handle this and will engage in it better than Candice does. She's an instant blocker

THIS!
What irritates me most is her sheer hypocrisy. But she’s so arrogant that she cannot see how ridiculous she sounds. I’m sorry but HOW can you advocate for WOC and argue that people be treated fairly and equally when she has literally made money from selling other women’s bodies. Presumably some of these women were WOC. How does her narrative stand up against her past? And I know we’ve all done things in the past we wish we hadn’t but a woman who was unashamedly a Madam, who made sex cakes, who had a sex blog - how can she now be the voice she claims to be for WOC? How can she be a reliable or credible voice for any woman? How can family brands like Pampers pay this woman?
I’m just stunned that more people haven’t seen through her.

The pimp thing quite possibly is all made up, she saw the Billie Piper show and thought pretending that would get her fame.

Then she saw it as a way to spin it for sympathy by pretending she was a sex worker.

Deeply dishonest and aggressive woman, only wants money.

I'm really shocked about this, when were you a midwife? All of mine were washed on day 1.
I had a baby in 2010 and left hospital after 36 hours, the only person who had a wash was me. She wasn't properly bathed until she was about ten days old.
My nephew was born in May this year, 5 days in hospital, no bath, wasn't bathed at home until day 12.

My last hospital experience was 2007 and it was still a thing then. Unless maybe different trusts have different policies or implemented them at different times? I must ask friends of mine locally what the score is.

Babies should not be washed straight after birth. It’s all about keeping the vermix on the skin for as long as possible. This wasn’t known about back in the day. So many reasons not to was babies for ten days or more if you google x
