I was pleased when I first came across her account, and I really appreciate her MMD work. More voices need to be heard here without a doubt. I’ve learned a lot from that account and still follow.

But I found her aggression and hostility towards white women shocking, mainly for the fact that many white women follow her and engage with her posts, wanting to do better.

I bet there are many, many white people who want to learn more about white privilege and how it negatively impacts on POC, so we look to someone like CB to share experiences so we can do the work we need to in dismantling systemic racism.

It’s not her job (or any POC) to educate us on what we need to do, but she has taken that mantle of her own accord. She’s placed herself out there, ready to discuss it and happily does until someone calls her out on something she says. Then the dissenting person is labelled racist.

She might be prejudiced against white people, and fair due if she is. She’s also right to call out white people if/when they highjack a post. But I think it’s more about securing her place at the table because no-one will challenge her for fear of the repercussions. And isn’t she sitting comfortably at the instamum table now 😉

I also have no problem with her ‘levelling up’ and making all the money she wants. I appreciate that she’s not tried to hide that. But it is a little vulgar how often she goes on about it. She also isn’t discerning when it comes to brand work. She’ll catch any coins thrown her way, regardless of whether they align with her personal values.

I know I’m not qualified to discuss the experiences of POC, and I don’t know CB personally. But something doesn’t sit well with me about her and it has nothing to do with the colour of her skin.

Lol and no one does that about black or coloured people?

You just have to look at Sudan as a perfect example. Not a single person on Tattle did a thread about it in the News section...but what thread are we on now for these influencers like Meldrum and Conway? Racism is so heavily ingrained into you that you dont even realise.
Of course people do it, which I challenge daily. The topic here is CB though, hence my comment only relating to her. To be honest, Tattle isn’t where I would come to discuss world topics such as Sudan, politics or other world issues. There are more appropriate places to do that for me. I agree that a lot of white people (including myself) have a huge amount to learn still about issues that are important to me such as feminism, racism, inclusivity, the LGBTQ+ community, diversity, ableism etc and I’m challenging myself to do the work myself and keep reading/learning. The difference between myself and a lot of influencers is I’m willing to state I’m still work in progress and will keep learning as I go...I hold my hands up when I make mistakes. I just can’t stomach how ‘preached to’ I often feel by CB. I think she assumes all white women are blinded by their privilege and fragility

I don't know if you missed my previous posts, but I explained that I have previously worked with sex workers in a public health role. I actually live in London and all my work with sex workers has been in London.

I know it's probably a bitter pill for you to swallow as all of your knowledge seemingly comes from watching one jodie Marsh documentary on TLC, but I know what I'm talking about. I'm writing from first hand, on the ground experience.

There was, and no doubt still is, a huge amount of multi agency working between public sector agencies in order to keep sex workers safe. It just doesn't sit well with people who sound like they believe everything they read in the Daily mail.

Oh geez, are we seriously back on me being candice?
Is this what happens when someone puts across an intelligent argument which you don't have a reply to? They get accused of being the person they are talking about?
I have to ask; if you work with sex workers in a public health role, then could you explain your defence of someone who attempted to GLAMOURISE sex work? Her self-professed aim was not to provide a safe environment for sex workers, it wasn't about prevention work or harm-reduction, it wasn't about safety planning or capacity building. It was about making a lot of money from selling the bodies of other women. Please dont insult the work of public health workers with this line.

Bit late jumping on this and don’t know all the ins and outs re her brothel keeping but why the fuck would you do a documentary about sex work if you didn’t want anybody to find out? She’s clearly fame hungry. I’ve done sex work and the one of the reason lots of escorts prefer selling sex rather than other forms of sex work is because it’s ephemeral. Most don’t allow pics/videos as opposed to webcamming or porn which could come back and haunt you, there may be rumours obviously but going on TV talking about it... Only people desperate for fame do that. It wasn’t ‘coming out’ in order to fight for sex worker rights or something commendable, just vanity.

Never thought this would happen in a billion years, but it's made me feel sorry for mod. There's no way mod leaked this, it's been out for ages and cb carefully t released her victim statement yesterday evening. Friday evening is peak time for posting and responses. It was a clear message to her brands to say see I'm still popular my followers don't give a fuck and know where's my Xmas contract?

She's manipulated the whole thing. But one thing She should've learnt from mod is that the truth will out. There's lots of posters asking is she was a pimp and she is furiously deleting away. There are comments on here and mumsnet with the truth of her role which she cannot delete. Let's see how this plays out. Personally I would not touch with a bathrooms any brand that works with cb or mod. We actually stopped using destinology altogether after they paired up with mod.

I don’t know who she is anymore.
A very racist lady, extreme views but only that benefit her and her race, looks down on white people and spews hatred and anger in all she says, she thinks the world owes her a living. She Thinks she’s owed the world because she was brought up in sout east London/Brixton and had a hard life. Haven’t we all lady. She’s got some deep rooted anger issues and needs to address her problems instead of spouting off at everyone else.

She thinks she’s made it because she has had 1 good year with money, very distasteful and laughable. Money can go just as quickly as it comes.

And here’s the thing Candice ... money doesn’t make you rich. She’s got some twisted morals.
You try be Oprah or the next Michelle Obama but you are so materialistic and full of yourself I don’t think you can make it out the door CHILE.

But hey you think your doing so well in life because your 1k of clearing your debt, I think you need money management classes why the hell buying all the gucci and the labels and splashing cash if your still in debt 😂 honestly!!! She’s so tacky.

She’s here with her daughter laughing about Pimp capes and openly speaking about being a madam. So much for not wanting her kids to find out while being filmed with them discussing her past working life on a channel that has 3.5 Million Subscribers!

Owning her past good on her - but OWN all of it!!

I think it's absolutely amazing that she hasn't had any backlash. Can't believe that actually selling other women comes with no repercussions and yet bitching gets you 'cancelled.'
She hasn't had any repercussions because shes a woc and if you say ANYTHING you are automatically a racist.

Of course the fat funny one had to get in there with her “we got you” comments. Another one that spouts word salads without actually offering anything of any value.

Candace did this willingly, she glamourised it in the doc. What did she think was going to happen? She has been thoroughly nasty about plenty of people, any one of those people could have alerted the brands. What’s to say it wasn’t one of her insta mum friends? As MOD has shown that it’s all smoke and mirrors and faux sisterhood.

Candace being a black woman doesn’t take away from the fact that she is cut from the same cloth as the rest of these insta fakers. Wanting the glam lifestyle, the expensive goods and freebies and zero accountability. Don’t question her or offer any feedback, sis doesn’t need it, except for when she does.

They all pretend to like each other, they are all each other’s competition, I don’t know why they pretend to be anything but competitors.

I initially liked her, but as a mixed race woman I rapidly began to feel uneasy with her constant complaints about racism while she herself was perpetuating racism against white people. Saying “the caucacity is exhausting today” and so forth paints her as just as much a racist as those she complains about. And then her rant to camera after the racist incident at E’s school, talking about how she just wanted to rip someone’s throat out through their vagina (!!) and swearing up a storm...she let the camera drop down and E was hand in hand with her! I get she was upset but I thought that was totally wrong.

Having spent my 20s travelling the country for work and flying multiple times a week, I have NEVER encountered any airport member of staff behave in such a manner and I’ve flown into and out of Luton many times.

Her story doesn’t ring true and if that staff member has reacted to the point of contacting police and them then detaining her that’s something within her behaviour that day that’s triggered it. The story about the cab driver is believable but the airport one isn’t. Maybe that’s why no one stood up for her then?

She’s an aggressive twat and her mouth has caught up with her. End of.

It is great to see her true nasty side showing through. She is not very nice or kind in anyways. But then again it can not be fun being the token POC at these sorts of things.

Candice love check the rules - you do have to declare - ok you were not specifically asked to insta story so not technically an ad, but a gift.

She is all fur coat and no knickers as my mum would say with her channel shoes and massive debt! She has become as shallow and vacuous was the others.

Sorry only just seen this was at work. Didn’t realise she’d posted my message on her stories. I was very reasonable and polite!
Her gut reaction is to shame people and let her followers be bitches. This is the same thing she did with Muminthemadhouse. Mean girl at work.

Can you please clarify why there’s no such thing as reverse racism?
Because, to my understanding, this is what racism is defined as:
prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

Candice is constantly antagonistic about WHITE WOMEN... she mentions the fact that they are white constantly and is often prejudiced and discriminatory towards them. So what if white women want lip fillers? Does it matter? Does she NEED to comment on the colour of their skin? Can’t she just say she’s against lip fillers, period? Imagine if a white woman said “oh it’s like when black women have their hair straightened” or “it’s like when black women dye their hair blonde” it’s racist! Simple as!
Racism and prejudice are different - prejudice can exist against white people on an individual level. Racism describes a system of disadvantage based on race. White people can experience prejudice from non-whites but it isn’t racism. Racism is a concept that exist on an individual and institutional level...this quote from an article explains better than I can: “At its core, racism is a system in which a dominant race benefits off the oppression of others -- whether they want to or not. We don't live in a society where every racial group has equal power, status, and opportunity.”

In simple terms, white people do not miss out on job opportunities, fair treatment by police, equal opportunities in education or healthcare because of their race. That’s racism. Individual negative thoughts or behaviours against white people is prejudice, bigotry, ignorance etc but you can’t call it racism. I hope that explains.

She seems fab, wonder what happened there?
She is lovely. No idea but it’s hard to imagine her pissing anyone off to the point that they would take her own project off her hands...
That’s on FoD’s site.
Let’s just say that Candice has some extremely interesting opinions of white (and mixed race) people (many would call some of the comments she has openly made in the past In conversations as racist themselves), and there is a side that she doesn’t show on social that is nothing less than manipulative, spiteful, bitter, jealous, selfish, steam-train-to-the-top-spot-IDGAFwhosinmyway-toxic attitude. perfect attributes for a pimp though - has anyone ever stopped to think what it takes within you to actually BE a pimp/madam? To watch women sell their bodies to vile old men? To encourage them To go in and suck old man dick with a smile on your face while you take the money they’ve ‘earnt’? AND THEN to much later make a tv show about it ? Still proudly smiling ?
mmmm. The person we’re seeing on social right now is NOT the full ticket.
ALSO I really love Michelle from Peanut and also Peanut ! I feel like she’s been ill informed. She thinks she’s collabbing with MMD but she’s not she’s collabbing with CB.
MMD will not ever be what it once was with only CB running it.
She has a HUGE chip on her shoulder, and should anyone criticise her or even display a difference of an opinion she argues and fights back guns blazing, it’s never open for normal adult dialogue.
She has ruffled a lot of feathers in her rise to 50k followers but so far no one wants to get involved in outing her for what she is because of the turn that social has taken rn and no one wants the hassle / are letting karma take care of it. Which let’s face it, it always does.

I don't think anyone is denying that black people are more profiled than white people but the two examples that she gave could have easily happened to anyone. I've found myself in similar situations (interestingly enough at the airport as well, everyone is on the edge there) and people won't always do that right thing and stand up for others. She should have moved immediately when asked to do so at the airport instead of sitting there and trying to argue 'Bro, chill' - really? To an airport officer? And the second story was because of an issue with her card or something and the guy clearly should have been fired a long time ago since the cab company mentioned it wasn't even the first time he was aggressive and rude to his customers?

So I guess my question is, *any time* she will find herself in a situation where there is clearly a misunderstanding or dealing with a difficult person, it will be because she is black? I guess so.

Haha, I'm flattered that you think it could be CB. Unfortunately not! Just someone who has a bit more insight into the world of sex working than others on here and can probably provide a bit more insight than the average person.

My point, which seems to have been a bit overlooked, is that the role of 'pimp/madam' doesn't really exist outside of american films or shit Jodie Marsh documentaries. It's a very sensationalist and defamatory term and seems like it's being chucked about on here to distract from the real issue
Whichever term you use, pimp, madam, etc. Lining up clients to sleep with women and then taking a cut of the money is illegal in the uk.

Running an escort agency like Candi was doing involves being a go between clients and working girls, and for that work as a go between she will take a fee from the client.

There are several escort agencies here in central London, all doing the same thing as we speak. Call it whatever you will, label it however you want but it is what it is and nobody, not a journalist, not someone you’ve worked with, and especially not TLC can change that.

OK, I'm not going to get into a discussion about how you can legally work as a sex worker or legally run an escort agency as I don't think the moderators of this site will show it.

What I will say is that, escort agencies often work very closely and in cooperation with the police to ensure the safety of sex workers. And if there was anything illegal going on then that arrangement wouldn't happen.
I have no issue with how Candice was or wasn’t a sex worker.
My concern has always been the way that she treated people when they questioned her in the past.
The aggression, the setting others on to then, the fact that her stories changed as much as the weather.
She isn’t a nice person. That has nothing to do with the colour of her skin.
She has been really rude about some people and I personally feel the whole outing and blaming it on MOD is another smoke screen.

The sad thing is as a white woman I now wouldn’t feel comfortable going to her teatime live events. Not that she would be rude to me but I would feel that she wouldn’t want me there and I’d feel I have no right. Which is really sad as I used to really respect her and out of everyone on Instagram I felt she had something worth saying and educated people
