Brookside is back!

[Cupid_Stunt]

Sheila Ferguson from The Three Degrees in this week’s episodes

I'm so excited for the cross over, though brief it'll be nice to catch up with the Brookie characters,
Wonder if theres enough time for them to also mention characters who arnt appearing? So mentions of the Murrays, Dixons etc
As I did read they asked Sarah White( Bev) but she was filming elsewhere

I'm looking forward to seeing Nicki and Tinhead. I really liked the Shadwick family.

[Maid22]

Agree, Claire was a poppet! I wonder if the actress who played her did watch any of it, it was lovely of her to pop in here.
I like Margaret, she seems a proper down to earth lass, liked it when she was telling Max how to do diy! But bad they're treating her like a skivvy, Max and Patricia always came across as wannabe snobs to me!!!

[Maid22]

@RocksOff this week's episodes are a must watch!!

I'd forgotten how shocking that was! (Especially when they put Daniel in that van)
And the 3 of them all wearing jeans and white t-shirts ( Terry's Vic and Bob one )
Loved the scene between Patricia and Susannah basically fighting over Max.
Chrissie just bore off now!
Overall a good week of episodes!

[Maid22]

The Chois and the Rogers are dreadful.
Love the scenes between Sheila and Billy!! Glad Rod and Tracy have accepted them now!

[Misssj80]

Watching new batch, that Marie (Petra's sister) I thought she was Petra's mum!!!!

I've just googled both actresses and there is 13 years between them but it easily looks like Marie is 20 years older

[Maid22]

Pretty boring drop this week and I could genuinely ring Chrissie's neck the way she acts in school around Geoff.

Some great comic relief though with the return of Julia and all her friends in need of a haircut...

Agree another meh week!
I always liked Julia, she's annoying but funny at the same time! No wonder Tracy was pissed, 25p for a haircut!!
Can't believe it's nearly Xmas again, comes around so quick, probably because not many episodes on during the week like other soaps!

[Tangoqueen]

I started watching when it was first released but got a bit bored by it after the initial fascination with the old times etc. I might go back now the corkhills have arrived.

Sue and Ricky were absolutely brilliant right from the start though

[Maid22]

Spoiler: Future storyline

I can’t understand for Sheila being such a god fearing woman that Bobby turns out not to be Barry’s dad I’m sure only time will tell

I don't remember this at all! Just done a search, blimey!

[Cupid_Stunt]

Is it just me? But there hasn't been any new episodes released on sky this week, hope it gets fixed

Yes they were uploaded on Wednesday as normal. They’ve split them into series now so look for Series 2 & Series 3

The latest ones are the tail end of Series 2 and the 1st one in Series 3 so the ones you need are:

S2: E91 - E94 and S3: E95

[Cupid_Stunt]

How far are we in now? I lost interest but I remember the Jordache era and I’m here for it when it arrives

We’re nowhere near that era yet. We’ve just started 1987

Im wfh today and have caught up to episode 6. I didnt watch the early ones as not old enough but i didnt know the corkhill guy was a teacher. What was his name??

[Maid22]

Someone on DS compared his look to Rik Mayall’s character Lord Flasheart in Blackadder, especially the way he was smarming around Sarah. The only thing missing was him thrusting and saying “woof“

Lol, I can see that now, Lord Flasheart!! It's that hair!!

[kendallroysdownfall]

What was the line?

It was a racist remark. I'm not going to repeat it in case it looks like I'm saying it to be funny.

[kendallroysdownfall]

Art imitating life perhaps? And this was only last year...

Brookside star sorry as venue 'horrified' over offensive comments

Vince Earl, best known for his role as Ron Dixon, issued a statement after the Royal Court said it would no longer work with the actor

You did better than me. I lasted about 3 weeks.

[troutpout69]

“Liked” is probably the wrong word to use but yes that was so harrowing and very brave for a soap to kill off both of a character’s children

I meant I liked Brookside in those days

[Maid22]

Barry and Sue
I never liked Ron Dixon, but forgotten he's a racialist as well
Good old Harry Cross upsetting folks still, I never realized the actress who plays Josie is Colin Jackson's real life sister!

[minnieminx88]

Blimey, during the half way break, there's 11 ads, never noticed this before, STV trying to get us to sign up to their plus plan!! Not worth it for 5 episodes of Brookie a week!!

There are more ads than actual brookie time.
