Watching new batch, that Marie (Petra's sister) I thought she was Petra's mum!!!!
I loved the character of Marie. I think she played the part really well.
Really sad, as she was another Brookside actress who died young. I think she was only in her 50s.

I loved the reference to Brookside in Hollyoaks tonight. “Try dicko at the trading post”

I’ve watched all the reruns over the past 6 months from the beginning. I used to really like Sheila when she was with Bobby but her character is all over the place with Billy. The moral high ground she’s always taken and now she’s going to drop this bombshell. When I watched it originally I was shocked but now comments she’s made are fresh in my mind. Like when she was raped how she’d cried she had only ever been with Bobby. I feel the producers were desperately trying to get their ratings up without staying true to the past or the character. As if she’d tell Terry that to make him feel better in the real world when she’s never told a living soul.
Looking forward to the Farnhams and the Dixons.

The storyline of going to Rome has been absolutely flogged to pieces
The same ground going over and over again, by the time they'd actually got there, I forwarded through it all.
The rest of this weeks episodes were enjoyable but the Grants Senior, what a bore fest.
New characters incoming....
and when Sheila finally got to Rome she hasn’t stopped whinging about the things she doesn’t like about the place

I wasn’t allowed to watch brookside when I was a kid, my parents thought it was too racy I think! I used to try and sneak it on. Is STV available through sky q? Never heard of it!
I don't know, I just downloaded the STV app!!

Another meh week!
Sue is awful, blimey Johnathon knocked off £10,000 but she's still moaning, then in the next bit, Terry offers to buy her a load of clothes!
I vaguely remember DD's brother Derek, wasn't he a vicar or a priest?
Yes he was. I also recall that he started dating Margaret which got DD’s back up because of his profession

I watched quite a few on YouTube - as I grew impatient waiting for more episodes to be uploaded on STV. I stopped though as the quality just wasn’t very good. I’ll pick up again on STV - from where I was up to 😆
Have we got to Rogers affair yet? I remember being gripped by that storyline (late summer of 1983). It was all we talked about at school - and I couldn't wait for the next episode!

The next episode where Doreen was home was the following Monday’s episode. There would have been nearly a week’s gap between the previous episode on the Wednesday (I think) when the glass in the door was still broken to that first episode where we saw Doreen again on the Monday. So we have to assume that the door was mended in those in between days.

It was a bit daft doing it that way though as I was looking forward to seeing Doreen’s reaction
I keep forgetting there was such a gap between episodes!
Yes I wanted to see Doreen's reaction too!

I find the Heather/Nick relationship really hard to understand. Particularly given she had only recently rejected Tom Curzon. I'm not sure though thatI had appreciated the age difference between Heather and Nick or, really, between Annabelle and Paul.

I kept shouting "Blimey Terry'. Really great acting and though I know it's obviously a character it also shows how any amiable man can have another side to them. By that I'm referring to when it's discovered that a woman has been suffering from DV and people can barely believe it.

This is my favourite period of Brookside. I loved the Heather / Nick storyline (which is just starting to gain pace).

The George storyline is really sad. Such a lovely, gentle character.
I felt sad watching that, just a genuine nice bloke and a saint to put up with Marie!!
Annabelle has really come across as a good neighbour, not at all snotty or stuck up at all, really like her!
Am finding Heather one of those folks who think they're better than anyone else.
Loving Sheila and Bobby, you can see how well they get on together, no wonder they went on to star together in the Royal family!
