I couldn’t get the latest 5 on sky either, I’ve found it rubbish. Some weeks they are there sometimes they take days. I got them today through the STV app on the tv but you can’t FF the ads

I watch on sky rather than the STV App and there’s little or no ads. And you can fast forward

I caught episode 1, looks almost like it was filmed in a home movie style
Loved seeing the old cars, the yellow Citroen 2CV, Bobby Grant's Austin Princess & Barry's gas guzzler Jaguar.
I remember when these new-build estates were springing up & hanging around the sites with pals, being a nuisance to the night watchman.
Soaps like Neighbours definitely took inspiration from Brookside a few years later.

Happy New Year's Brookie fans!
I'd forgotten how annoying Sheila was, she seems to want everything on her terms and all of her NEEDS,
Happily moved in with Billy but not happy for Bobby to move on is just one example over the years and her Catholic faith is very important to her when it suits?
Yes, Poor Tracey is going through it at the moment, I'd like to have seen her and Barry stay together to be honest,as I like both characters.
The Chois have finally moved on, they spoke about their departure almost from the moment they arrived
I'm with you @Maid22, Jimmy and Sinbad could be annoying at times, but I did laugh at them dressed up at the bbq
I like the different storylines with The Rodgers and will be sorry to see The Collins family go, and course Harry has moved on too, though Mick is a great character to replace him
We have all the Sue and Danny drama to come!
Will be all change soon with the new families arriving, exciting times!

The end of this week’s last episode was a bit shocking.

That guy Sinnott, Mike’s nemesis, was played by Neil Fitzmaurice (who was credited as Neil Anthony in these episodes)

He’s probably best known nowadays for being in Phoenix Nights

“Liked” is probably the wrong word to use but yes that was so harrowing and very brave for a soap to kill off both of a character’s children

You’ve only got about a year until she’s killed off herself.

Caught up on this weeks episodes and have to say, WTF was I watching in the last 5 minutes??

That whole last episode was odd, why were Barry and Heather at Alans? It felt like we missed an episode!
That Liz was awful and as for Alan being drunk, never quite seen acting like that for a while

Is it just me or is anyone finding it abit flat at the mo?
I didn't go much on Xmas episode and felt like an episode was missing after they found Barry in the freezer!!
I was never a fan of gangster Barry.
Am only really liking Max and snobby Pat!
And the new theme music

The new theme music is reminding me of when the Eastenders theme had that jazzy update in 1993 that not many people liked so it went back to the old version after less than a year

Yes, Poor Katie!
It definitely seems to be going through a rough patch at the moment, as said, Annabelle's story line has had to be written with poor Doreen Sloane's illness to be taken into account.
Paul and Gordon storyline is ok
Billy and Sheila keeping things ticking over, Chrissie still moaning, apart from one kind moment with Katie, she just shouts all the time. Jon and Cheryl going around in circles, for a new relationship, they don't seem at all happy, Sue and Terry just warming up for a great storyline, I seem to remember
But the Choi family is so boring, I just zap through it, I've no interest at all.
Don't half miss Barry, he livens things up!!

The woman who plays Pat’s girlfriend Fran, from the band, turns up again 11 years later as Margi Shadwick, the mum of the Shadwicks

Annabelle is lovely. By comparison I want to hit Paul over the head with every sentence that comes out of his condescending mouth. He reminds me of my awful ex father in law!

He really is a very condescending prick!!! Also can't stand the way he says old girl, old man, I know it's the way he was probably brought up, but grrr!!!
