Ahh, she made me really laugh clopping along! And I totally agree, The Corkhills just fit right in and bring a bit of life back to the close as I thought with all the "job" talk, important as it is, got a bit boring.
New Lucy is here for a little while, but unfortunately so is screechy Sandra, she does my nut in!
I look forward to a Wednesday (bit sad,I know)

I’m still behind so it’s maybe been addressed but I’m wondering if Annabelle is maybe menopausal? I guess back then it might have been a taboo that wasn’t to be discussed, and Brookie was setting its stall out as willing to go where other programmes wouldn’t?

I was speaking to a couple of women a few months ago about free period products being available and how good it is that speaking about it nowadays isn’t a big deal. But one of the women is in her 70s and she said she was horrified they were talking about it on Corrie, and she doesn’t think it’s right
Annabelle gets her prognosis in this weeks! I think it's good women can talk freely about periods etc, my experience was fucking awful, got given a book and a sanitary towel, never to be spoken about again.

I have a nice collection of episodes in my sky planner to watch. If you like soaps Drama channel are showing Howard's Way form the 80s. The clothes, bad acting and minging men make it shite but good.

I’m amazed how much I remember, but not the outcome - unfortunately read that on a FB group. Anyhow it was very well done, amazed how little victim support there was then.
Kate was the only one I liked in that household. No obvious counselling for the victims back then, and Terry was back in the house just after picking up some clothes!

I wasn’t allowed to watch brookside when I was a kid, my parents thought it was too racy I think! I used to try and sneak it on. Is STV available through sky q? Never heard of it!

End of an era with Sheila and Billy leaving, I'll miss them, loved Sheila throwing Doreen out!
Am fed up with this Godden storyline.
Max is annoying just like his alarm!
Loved Sammy's hair!
Absolutely, she was a massive character, and though I didn't agree with everything she did or said, you totally believed in her, a masterclass by Sue Johnston.
I started counting every time Jimmy said the words Godden or Frankie and lost count!
Very very boring but now Barry is on the case it should become a little more interesting.
On the alarm, when we had one fitted it needed to be wired in, not just a box fixed to the wall, so that confused me a little.
Great to see Margaret, she is a good addition and also I loved Patricia back in the day, She was so fashionable and modern in her attitude to females in the work place

It's setting the groundwork for the new era of Brookside now, especially with Sheila and Claire leaving, I'll miss Claire, she was such a poppet

Sheila & Billy leaving was quite understated, you’d be forgiven for thinking that they were just going on a break not leaving permanently. If this was nowadays they would have made more of a fuss of their departure

It was like Harry just going away for what seemed like only a holiday but Mick has revealed, from a phone call, he’s not coming back (although he does make a brief return in the late 90s) and the Collins’s departure was quite subdued as well

Once the Dixons arrive, this will be like, as you say, a new era for the show. Brookside 2.0 in a way and is when I started watching the show. Once the Parade opens, which won’t be until late 1991 that’s when the storylines properly ramp up
Yes, that's very true, totally understated
From what I remember, most of the exits were, apart from, weirdly the Chois, who hadn't been there long and spoke about leaving from almost the minute they arrived!!

I missed quite a bit of the storyline coming up originally, I had quite the social life back then!
So will enjoy seeing it properly this time

I was an early days watcher, missed a lot of the early 90's as I was working and had a fairly hectic social life ( those were the days!) But I would try to catch the odd omnibus edition.
Tinhead etc I don't really remember, that's why I'm so grateful for the STV reruns, though it will be a while to get there
And now this cross over,
Happy Days

Sheila and Bobby have split up, hence why Sheila is leaving.
The Rogers are renting Harold's house
Doreen has left Billy and Rod is the local plod!!
Ahh I see. I stopped watching pretty early on as I couldn't get into it. I'll come back for the 1990s era as that was amazing.

How many years until we get to watch Max Farnham?
oh and the Shadwicks arriving?
No wonder I wasn’t allowed to watch this when I was 8 🤣
