absolutely hated the ending thoughI have a 7.5 hour flight tonight. I hope to sleep for most of it, but this is what I’ve borrowed from the library to read on my Kindle

I'm currently reading Ring the Hill by Tom Cox. The blurb said it was about hills, but it really isn't, I'm not actually sure what it's about.

I’m just finishing We Solve Murders (big TMC fan) and I’ve already preordered We Chase Shadows from my library.
I will then be starting. the Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley. It’s my book club choice this morning. I’ve already read The People on Platform Five by her and thought it was ok. But I see this get better reviews
I am very almost finished the new Claire Daverley and it is very meh.

I’ve just finished Elly Griffiths The Killing Time. I absolutely love modern paranormal and time travel stories so i really enjoyed it.
This is so disappointing to hear as I loved Talking At Night and her new one is quite far up on my tbr pile. Perhaps I'll demote it to further down the pile

I just finished reading The Other Bennett Sister.
It wasn't a bad book, but I enjoyed the TV version more.

I read the book first and the first half took ages because it's quite miserable but the second half was great. The show did a good job of balancing the abuse from her mother and society with showing her lovely personality and her finding herself.
I did almost DNF the book last year until I got about 40% in. I just felt the earlier stuff dragged on too long and could have been edited down a bit for pace.
Oh and I really love the show
This series sounds right up my street - just went to look at the prices for kindle to discover I already own the first two

I also liked that the show added a scene of Mrs Bennett talking about how difficult things were for her having to secure the future of her family alone as Mr Bennett was indifferent to it . It did not justify her being a bully to Mary, but it gave her some depth.
I think the show made the right call to speed up the early section and get Mary to London quicker, and to add the bit where she is called back as her mother is unwell, so we get chance to check in with all the sisters again.
