Anyone watching/watched Every Year After, the "adaptation" of Carley Fortune's Every Summer After?

I feel like I deserve compensation for how bad it was and how I endured all 8 episodes.

Are her books good? I was pondering one yesterday as it was 99p but the blurb didn’t really call to me.

If you like romance with more drama than most romance books and lots of yearning, yes. And the setting is always gorgeous.

Oh really! It had me hooked from the end of part one. I just really liked the writing in it. The middle part (no spoilers here), I can see why people tuned out a bit. The last part before the epilogue I thought was just beautiful. I was due a good cry and oh my lord I cried.

Wow I’ve just finished Writers and Lovers. And LOVED it. I felt like I so identified with Casey’s character, and Lily King’s writing style just really resonated for me. I only read it to pre-empt Heart the Lover which I have a copy of and bought W&L for 99p in a Kindle deal. Loved it, 5 stars.

I had a very similar experience, bought it to read pre HTL and was totally captivated and couldn’t put it down all weekend. It was a weekend I wasn’t feeling well too so even more of an achievement for the book lol often I can’t focus when I’m ill despite wanting to use the opportunity to devour as many books as possible.

Tempted to get something else of hers but not sure what yet.

US residents/those with US library cards! This seems like a great site; I'm jealous (even though I have more books than I can handle). It checks for any other library cards you might be able to use

I already have two of the three reciprocal cards that I’m eligible for. It was a good reminder to renew both of those cards though! Thanks for posting.

Good library haul this week! Thankfully, some of them don’t have to be returned until the end of July. 😅

A few from our list on deals this month - noticed Homegoing, The List of Suspicious Things, Grapes of Wrath, Foster. A Monster Calls is there for £2.99.

Also, my favourite Poirot is up - The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
The author of The List Of Suspicious Things has written her second book - The Barbecue At Number 9.
Getting rave reviews from people who've read it.

Aah, thank you for posting about this. I didn’t know she had a second out and I really enjoyed the first. I have £60 worth of Waterstones points and planning on having a spree for my birthday, so this is going on my list!
