You could have warned me The Count of Monte Cristo was nearly 1300 pages!😩
Oh well, think positive. I might race through it like I do the J K Rowling's...🤞
I keep looking at this on my kindle, really want to read it, but its sooooo long, I always think oh I will just read this other book first! Have you started it?

I got this shock when it arrived this week (heavily influenced by this thread as always) and I opened the parcel thinking it was several other books I'd ordered but no just The Count. I was going to take it on holiday but it's too big to fit in my carry on bag!

I just finished Stations by Louise Kennedy. Beautiful and brutal remain my abiding impression. Not quite Trespasses but a remarkable feat of a book and I’m now a devoted fan. A must read for anyone who wants to ache and avoids sentimentality.

I was literally going to come on and ask this! I really want to re-read Back Home by Michelle Magorian. I read it so many times as an early teen.
I loved this book. Poor Rusty 💔 at boarding school where they call her Virginia Creeper. So many little details I remember and I haven't read it in over 30 years. I want to re-read it now. The house, the painted table. Her horrible dad.
