Looking forward to it. So I know which ones to buy first to get the good ones read. Because some of them are fantastic, some are average, and a few are dirge. When I do my montly round up at the end of July I will let you know which ones were good and which ones were bad.
Oh, I agree some are fantastic, some are average but passible and some are just godawful.Looking forward to it. So I know which ones to buy first to get the good ones read. Because some of them are fantastic, some are average, and a few are dirge.
It was such a clusterf*ck guys!!A quarter of a star?!? Tell us alllll!
After the road trip, I gave up. What she used to be able to do well, she just doesn’t do it anymore.Regarding the Beth O'Leary, I agree her books are getting progressively bad. She is clearly thinking of cuckoo plot twists first and foremost, above character arc or actual plot progression. And I'm tired.
There was almost no character development in this one and the plot twist was so unnecessarily convoluted.
MrComment has learnt not to make this statement over the last couple of years.
nah don't know anyone like that do you?!!?
Essential testing!the new kindle store interface made me accidentally buy two books yesterday (first one by accident, second one to test how the first one had happened, don’t question my logic) so that’s how my tbr pile reduction plan is going
i realise i could have retuned them but![]()
I refuse to believe anyone truly enjoys Ulysses - James Joyce and no top 100 needs 3 Hemingway novels.Ok I retract that, curiosity got the better of me 🫣 I truly hated that list, actually find it more pretentious than the other one.
I'm going through the British Library's Women's Writers section - I find it so interesting what's fallen out of print, and how early "sliding doors" tales were being writtenFor British Library Crime Classics collectors, if you want any brand new the British Library does 3 for 2 and if you’re a member you can get an extra 20% off the 3 for 2 price, so 3 books for around £16 which I didn’t think was bad.
I may have calculated how much it would cost to buy them all and then how much it would cost to buy all the tales of the weird ones as well.
It doesn’t often let me post on here because I refuse to accept sharing my data with the 1700 odd ‘partners’ of this site. So I have to read around the pop up but I’ve still been following every single day And slowly whittling down my tbr - I’m at 165 now so 30ish down since the start of the year.
Interesting that a lot of you liked Rebecca, I read it quite a few years ago and was really disappointed because I thought it was a literal ghost story.
On kindle 99p to 1.99 if I’m really desperate but most of the time I just wait for the library. I will buy something I really want if I’ve read the author before or if I want a little treat but that’s less often just now as I’ve too much TBRWas tempted to buy yesteryear because I keep hearing so much about it, but I absolutely refuse to blind buy a book for 9.99.

£5 for an author I've not read but has come highly recommended, and I don't think it'll appear in deals. I might go to £8 if I've read and loved the author. Was tempted to buy yesteryear because I keep hearing so much about it, but I absolutely refuse to blind buy a book for 9.99.

Mostly 99p deals, charity shops or free from the library. Unless its a book I really really want to read and can't wait another minute, which doesnt happen too much as quite often I will request from the library and wait for my turn! Was tempted to buy yesteryear because I keep hearing so much about it, but I absolutely refuse to blind buy a book for 9.99.
