I’m currently reading The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker. It’s basically a retelling of Homer’s Iliad from the perspective of the women in the story and it’s really good. I struggled through Iliad several years ago and that’s time I will never get back.
I just finished The Names by Florence Knapp. It was good but not incredible. The domestic violence made it a hard read for me.

I’ve just finished Songbirds by Christy Lefteri. Had such high hopes for it but the (TW harming animals)animal deaths/abuse were just too much for me. Gave it the lowest possible rating on StoryGraph of .25. Also, I don’t feel the migrant worker women’s stories were fleshed out at all.

Oh gosh, I spent almost a tenner on this one as a birthday treat (42 tomorrow!) as it’s getting rave reviews but I couldn’t get past page one. I hated the writing.
