Is it when you plug the charger in? I wonder if it’s just the charger has gone faulty?
I'd be tempted to quickly blow warm air from a hairdryer in the port, just in case. I once got water on my phone charging port and a few seconds of the hairdryer seemed to help.
Devoured atmosphere in a day and a half. Loved it. Cried at the end on a lounger by the pool.
Yeah just hairdryer it or put it in rice. Mine is old and barely holds a charge for a week but rice fixed it nicely when I left in a puddle on the side of the sink and got that warning, so it should be fine for tomorrow.
I'm reading that next.

Has your Kindle got the latest update? Have you tried holding it upright and shaking it carefully? Laying it flat, sitting it on the naughty step and ignoring it for a good 12 hours?
Might be teaching you to suck eggs, but both of those things have helped me in the past.

I didn't like the book but I'm surprisingly enjoying the TV show.
I'm thinking of treating myself to a kindle. I would really appreciate if anyone with kindle- knowledge could kindly take the time to give me some recs. Ta.
The best is to get a refurbished one, places like CEX or Amazon have them, it’s the same basically but much cheaper (the warranty is the same) paper white is the best and was designed to read like an actual book, but they have redesigned the basic ones, you can also get them a cheaper one on vinted etc but understand you might not want to go down that route.
you could also look at kobo because amazon have been slated recently because they’ve taken away the support for older devices despite nothing being wrong with them.
I also know people who have the newest kindles and they have had way more problems than me with mine (I have the 8th gen paperwhite)
You don’t need large storage as each book is so small and you won’t download your whole library in one go
I’m almost finished This Must Be The Place by Maggie O’Farrell. It’s a solid 3* I think. It’s overwritten. The vocabulary is ridiculous, some of the words used unnecessarily archaic. And the story is just meandering nothingness.
If you're considering new, I got the ad free basic and I love it. Had it about a year, no issues, though it'd be really bad tech if there was. I got it on Amazon prime day for around £85.
It's about a £10 difference between the version with ads and no ads, from what I read the ads aren't too bothersome, you'll just get recommendations and can't choose your screensaver.
Some people have a hack where they complain to Amazon after purchase and get changed to ad free for no cost.
People who have the colour or paperwhite still seem to think the basic is very good and some even prefer it to the "higher tech" versions. At first, I thought I wanted colour but apart from the book cover, it'd be pointless. I believe the basic is the smallest too, so its easier to travel. Fits the pockets of some of my jeans and jackets!
She is the queen of over writing. Someone pointed out here how she always describes things in 3, like something was sad, upsetting, desolate. Can’t unsee it now

The ads are only on the lock screen so it's not a big deal apart from it keeps giving me ads for those books with naked men on the cover and my husband wonders wtf I'm reading

and they always have the most insane premises: i keep getting one now which is like “he fought the enemy with his fists, but he forget to protect his HEART” and if i see it one more time i might just buy it.If you're not in a rush, I'd wait for when they're on sale for Prime Day (July I think?) So you can get it for a better price. I have the most recent paperwhite and love it.
