Hard to answer. I did as it was quite a quick and easy read and not as misery loaded as ger usual. But ultimately it was between 2 and 3 stars for me and i went with 2
it had several issues. The premise was interesting and some characters I liked.

Started my year off strong with the audiobooks of Broken Country, and Project Hail Mary. So glad I went in to PHM blind, I knew nothing and probably wouldn’t have picked it up if I’d known some of the plot as I don’t usually bother with space/sci fi. Wonderfully performed too. Now switching between reading Wild Dark Shore (kindle) and Shark Heart (libby). Doomscrolling begone in 2026!
I've also got this on my kindle to read, I'm intrigued. Glad its not as misery loaded but sounds like it was a bit disappointing overall. Will report back when I read it!Hard to answer. PHM is one of my all time favourites! I’m going to try do a re-read before the film comes out in March
I was going to say there’s a Ryan Gosling film of Project Hail Mary coming out that looks good.
I think I’m getting Atmosphere mixed up with Orbital. It was Orbital everyone thought was a bit dull and rap wasn’t it?

I just finished Hercule Poirot’s Christmas, enjoyed it and didn’t see the killer coming.
The bit with the daleks in the study was weird… oh wait that was my dream.

I’ve hit a bit of a reading slump and usually something like a good thriller gets me back out of it. I was wondering if anyone had any that they would point me to, or any other books that have got you out of a slump previously? I’m currently in the middle of moving house and changing my job so nothing too mentally taxing

I see The Correspondent is a 99p deal - I really enjoyed this last year. It's an epistolary novel about a woman who writes letters to everyone. There are some difficult subjects covered (e.g. death of a child), but I found it a lovely, warm read overall.
I've just finished this, I really enjoyed it too. Funny and some really poignant moments that deal with grief and familial relationships
It was on my wish list thanks to recommendations here so very pleased to see it on offer this morning. Always a good start to the day when there’s a 99p deal on something you really want!
