After considering what to do with my Phillipa Ashley books I have decided to unhaul all of them.
Best thing if you aren't feeling them! I had a soft spot for her for a while, but she is very formulaeicAfter considering what to do with my Phillipa Ashley books I have decided to unhaul all of them.
i felt the same about atmosphere, and about most taylor jenkins reid tbh (apart from carrie soto!) - i find her writing very distant and she never really lets the audience make their own minds up about anything. she presents the plot and the characters but i never really connect with them.I know that I am likely totally on my own here, and none of my friends agree but I found Atmosphere quite dull - please let me stay!
I just didn't warm to any of the characters and couldn't care less about what happened to them.
I listened to it and was desperate for it to finish the narrator was fine, no issues there, I just wasn't invested which can be fine sometimes but I expected to love it and was so disappointed.
I can be contrary though and will stay away from things that people are loving so should have stuck to that!
I finished Atmosphere last night… sobbing. Definitely a 5 star for me too.. and for the endThe end of Atmosphere has just pushed it from a 4.5 to a 5 star read for me.
I’d used an Audible credit for this but ended up reading it as the library reservation came through for me. I was going to return the audio but so many of you have said it’s great in that format so I think I’ll save it to listen to in future.
That’s funny because Carrie Soto is the one I couldn’t get on board with! I will try again one day though.i felt the same about atmosphere, and about most taylor jenkins reid tbh (apart from carrie soto!) - i find her writing very distant and she never really lets the audience make their own minds up about anything. she presents the plot and the characters but i never really connect with them.
and of course you can stayit would be a dull world if we all liked the same books!
Yeah, it was a let down for me but I loved her most recent bookHas anyone read The Keeper of Stories? I’m reading it for book club and it’s not really grabbing me
Go to the option to cancel and follow through, they normally give you an offer such as three months for half price. Then once that time is up you can still cancel. It’s what I do!I’ve just had a revelation! I’ve been trying to get back into audiobooks recently and have either used an Audible credit, gone back to books I’ve paid for in the past but never listened to or gone for one of the tiny free collection on Audible (that are usually rubbish). I sat and reflected on when I would listen to audiobooks all the time a couple years ago and could not figure out how I managed it without it costing the earth. Then tonight it came back to me ….Borrow Box!! I found the huge list of books I’d listened to there in the past and now have five others lined up to listen to this week and next. I’m keeping my Audible subscription open for now to use credits for the full cast Harry Potter books but after that it’s getting shut down asap!!
I loved the Magpie Murder trilogy
I suffer from the same condition so please be gentle with me
I’m on to my third read of the year (and haven’t bought a book since NYD) - finished the magpie murder trilogy (which I LOVED) and now on to Queen James which I’ve wanted to read for ages and glad I took the risk and got for 99p on kindle just before Xmas knowing my family would probably once again ignore it on my list
I just love medieval history so much
Ooh good idea! I think I joined on a deal in the first place and forgot I could fake another cancel.Go to the option to cancel and follow through, they normally give you an offer such as three months for half price. Then once that time is up you can still cancel. It’s what I do!
I wish there were more than three - obvs wouldn’t be trilogy then thoughI loved the Magpie Murder trilogy

Not yet but it’s on my kindle so it’s high up on my list to read. Did you enjoy it?Interesting about Atmosphere. I'll probably read it hopefully when its no so expensive. I usually find TJR books ok as an easy read.
I just finished Wild by Kristin Hannah, has anyone read it?
