Just read Gray after dark by Noelle W Ihli did actually quite enjoy this, only started it this morning and I'm not usually a very fast reader.

I tend to always read on my kindle, I like that I dont need to have a light on and its just so convenient but I do buy some books. I feel bad as I work within a library service (not directly in a branch) so feel like a traitor everytime I download a new book but so difficult to get comfy in bed with a book.

Finished The Ascended and I absolutely loved it. Such a solid fantasy read with really strong world building and the magical elements were done well. The romance was good too.

If you’re into that Hunger Games / Fourth Wing style trials with magical themes and high stakes vibe, this is definitely one to pick up.

I’m off to read Riftborne now, but honestly, if you’ve read that and haven’t read The Ascended yet, go and read it.

I wish I had started with ritborne first.

I’ve got my dispatch email too - my chances of finishing Alchemised before starting Strength are reducing by the Royal Mail notification.

Just saw an extra product photo on Waterstones 👀

Thought I’d share if you donate money to age UK shops they may give you books in return. It happened to me this morning. They let me have Christmas under the stars by Karen Swan for my 99p donation.

As far as I’m concerned, it was the book that found me and therefore it needs to be read.

That's really lovely. And I love Karen Swan 😊 Enjoy! Do you think you'll save it for December?

I try to save festive books for December but now the Christmas markets are up in Birmingham and shops are getting all festive I'm tempted to start reading them sooner. Although we're going on a beach holiday on Wednesday so definitely wait until we're back from that.

I’ve got a couple of non-festive I want to finish first but yes end Nov/dec I’ll move on to the Xmas themed ones and this one will be high in my stack. I read Christmas at Tiffany’s 11 years ago according to Goodreads, and I gave it 5 stars although I can’t remember it! But it means I’m hoping this will be as good.

I’ve got 3 advent books to read this year. I’m hoping we’re all doing Xmas Break by J.E. Rowney together, then I’ve waited almost a whole year to start Everyone this Christmas has a Secret by Benjamin Stevenson and at the weekend I bought Murder by Christmas by Joel Jessup.

I definitely set my reading goal too high this year, seeing “you’re 8 books behind” on StoryGraph in almost mid November is stressing me out 😭😭
So are the 5 library books on my shelf - why did all my reservations have to come in when I’m in a slump 😂

i have also this morning done something i said i would never do and have purchased a kindle 🥰

i’m still going to buy “real” paperbacks as much as i can, waterstones isn’t getting rid of me that easily, but i’m finding hardbacks so cumbersome to read these days (unless it’s a book i’m really invested in) so it will be for new releases and all those spicy kindle romances that are never in actual paperbacks yay 🥳
Enjoy…The Secret Highland Billionaire Cowboy’s Breeding Mistress 😅

I am about 17 books behind on my reading challenge. I want to read more but I also have things like work, a dog to look after and housework to do.

I’ve started looking at my TBR for Christmassy books, I’ll start once I’m clear of my library pile. I have a selection of Romance and Crime Christmas reads depending on whether I’m feeling lovey or murdery.

Ah yes, the two moods. 😝

So what's everyone's fave book they've read this year? I know the year isn't finished yet but thought I'd ask anyway. I've had a pretty bad year when it comes to reading, mainly because of concentration issues.

purely off the top of my head and without checking my goodreads ratings:

shark heart; the safekeep; sorcery and small magics; the great believers and on the savage side.
