i am praying someone can help because this is driving me crazy and google isn’t helping - i read a book last year (most likely by freida mcfadden but obv can’t remember) & it was about a group of people who stayed in a cabin and someone was killing them while they were there? i distinctly remember a bit where she and another girl locked themselves in a room upstairs but then she started to panic incase the other girl was actually the killer - what the hell is this book called

i’ve searched all my goodreads and TBR bookshelf app and cannot seem to find it logged, please help

*edit to also add i’m sure she was either sleeping with/in a relationship or ex partner of one of the guys she was with, if that helps

I am currently reading In The Market for Murder by T E Kinsey and I came across these lines:
Lady Hardcastle smiled. "Yes, we did have something to do with clearing all that up. As for the other speculations, well, you know how people tattle".
She paused for a moment in thought. Can we offer the tattlers no crumbs? Is there something, perhaps, that might give someone - ghost or otherwise - cause to imagine you to be a murderer?

Still working my way through Onyx Storm . . . This one isn’t capturing me as much as the other two I think

i loved fourth wing, but the second book was so confusing I had to give up. I think it's an amazing idea, but violet is very much a mary sue

she is, bless her i’ve only read fourth wing but felt like they just about kept a hold on her going full mary sue (as opposed to feyre in acotar who has achieved a whole new level) but i knew it would only get worse!

I love acotar sm, but I cannot STAND feyre. the worldbuilding is beautiful, I love the side characters, but feyre is just a silly wee twit that needs a slap. she's absolutely insurrerable

I started Mad Honey this week and was struggling with the bee stories until I decided to skim them. It has enhanced the story already for me. Sorry for being such a philistine, but if I wanted to learn about bees then I'd read a non fiction book.

I loved Mad Honey. I listened on audio but it was really well done.

Oh yes, in the first book especially, everyone acts like she's the second coming of Christ when she needs to be rescued about every 5 seconds because she decided to be dumb.

Blized through Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea. Having looked it up afterwards I found out this was Hemingway's last major work. That was released to much fanfare and hope in 1951.

I can't decide if I like the book or not, it is only 80-ish pages so an hour of your life if you did want to read it. I feel like if you strip it down to the bare bones it is a beautiful story about courage and perseverance.

It is the first Hemingway I have read in a while, I'll read more but not before my tbr is cleared.

Anyone for the next letter?
