I might do that. I just didnt see what everyone was going on about. I found it so boring and DNF. Luckily I didnt pay for it as I got it on NetGalley . Might give it another shot sometime..

Just picked up The White Book BY Han Kang after hearing about it online yesterday. I think it might take me less time to read than it did to walk to the library and back to collect.And I thought Claire Keegans books were a rip off for the price.. This thing is 9.99 filled with photos and blank pages and even the ones with text on only have a paragraph.

My January books. My favourite was Go As A River, closely followed by Homecoming - 4.5 and 4 stars respectively.

I’m still trying to decide what I made of All Fours. Still feeling “WTF did I read” about it at the moment, and not in a good way!

Currently halfway through Before I Go To Sleep which I have read before but so long ago that I don’t remember the twist!

SAME re. All Fours. Such a bizarre read and I felt quite uncomfortable in places but it has made me really think and evaluate aging, sexuality + aging and female beauty etc. going to look up go as a river.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm going to try later this morning. I am determined that my Kindle tbr books never get into such a muddle as they did when I started this 'don't buy any books, read your tbr' project.

Ok. So the letter H was chosen for me by @Hannahebee and I ended up with How To Be Brave by Louise Beech. I got about 20% in and felt like I had read it before. I didn't really remember the storyline so I carried on and it was almost like reading the book for the first time. I can only imagine someone lent me a physical copy of the book. Not too worry, as with every other Louise Beech book I have read this was superb. So beautiful and so captivating. This was Louise's debut novel but you would never know.

I think we all remember my (our, since so many read) love affair with Sebastian, the boy with Down Syndrome from her book This Is How We Are Human that a lot of us read in 2022(!!.) It is one the best books I have ever read and I recommend it to any one who hasn't read it yet.

I read a novella after called Night by Elie Weisel. "Only those who experienced Auschwitz with know what it is." Amen. This book is a true story. I read this book in school for the first time, but it was a 99p purchase back in 2022 and I thought I would have a quick read now. Well, it was a quick read but it fried my brain. Just how. The Holocaust. How? And how strong was the resolve of these people in this book, both those who survived and those who sadly did not. This is the first book in at least a year that has moved me to tears.

Moving on, and if we aren't bored of this game yet does anyone want to pick a letter for my next Kindle book to read?

I wonder - do you find it easier to use Kindle, or read the physical book? Reason being I find reading a bit hard when in the evenings when dark (a book light might suffice!) But I have a few books on hand I have to get through also! Decisions, decisions

I definitely find it easier (and quicker) to read one my kindle.

I read while cleaning my teeth, whole cooking, laying down in bed etc. I need one hand to tap that's it. A book a need 2 hands.

I find it easier for sure, especially when going away. Quite handy to be able to have multiple books with me at all times

I tend to have multiple books on the go now for this reason - I like to have a physical book by the bed which I'll read at night, and first thing. Then I'll have a kindle book on the go for commuting / time when I have a few minutes to myself when I'm out and about to stop me scrolling so much. I'll also have an audio book for when I'm walking the dog. This way I am getting through my physical TBR pile, and those 99p kindle deals.

Sped through the new Ali Hazlewood, Deep End. It's set in college & spicy as per usual. I've had a pretty anxiety-ridden week so far and it was a fun escape! If you've enjoyed her books for what they are (spicy escapist romances) in the past I think you'll enjoy this one. It was nice to explore competitive diving/swimming alongside her usual STEM academia world.
Though, slight criticism of a plot point/trope spoiler ahead: it was one of those books where you do want to shout at the characters to just have 'the talk' about their relationship. But the book would be a lot shorter if they did that.

I have a physical book for my morning coffee, lunch and after work. My kindle is for bedtime as I won’t lose my place when I drop it on my face. I have an audiobook for work/walking the dog.

As a one book at a time person, this book multitasking blows my mind! Full of admiration for all of you who manage it.
