This! Forcing a restart seems to sort most Kindle niggles out. Mine had a wobble not so long ago where it wasn’t charging properly (plugged in for ages but the battery level not going up) and a restart sorted that.

Thanks folks I fixed it for him.. Turns out it needed a hard reset AND was due a software update , I dont think they fact he just bought about 20 books for his trip also helped.Also I put it on airplane mode for him ..this might also assist our bandwidth issues.

A thank you from him would have been nice btw

Yeah I haven't clicked with Rooney's writing but I absolutely loved the Normal People tv series. What a treat that was in an otherwise bleeping tit year.

Finished Giovanni's Room yesterday. Oh my word! A masterpiece in 150 pages. Superb. Another 5* read.
Now after a short breather, I've started Prep by Curtis Sittenfield.

Yeah I haven't clicked with Rooney's writing but I absolutely loved the Normal People tv series. What a treat that was in an otherwise bleeping tit year.

I loathe the lack of speech marks. I also didn’t get on with Talking at Night for the same reason.

I did enjoy the book of Normal People but that series, wow. I loved it. Have watched it more than once. And now I’m thinking about it might have to go in for another watch.

What about mafia romance? Chicago ruthless series & La ruthless. Absolutely loved them. She’s just realised a the second book in a new series aswell which isn’t mafia - manhattan ruthless series. Love them alll.

After all the Strike chat lately I’ve been inspired to do a re-read of the series. Then I realised Im 2 books behind. 🫣 I’ve just pre-ordered the new one with 50% off, it’s coming in September.

Given that I am working my way through the last books on my tbr and there are 60 odd and they are all in my Kindle. I decided that my old Kindle, which has given me nine years of loyal service, needed retirement. Nine years of service, 14 countries visited and about 525 books read, looks like this....

I got the newest Kindle Paperwhite and it is so much faster and responsive than my old one, plus the screen and lighting settings are much better.

I'm not the kind of person who upgrades their Kindle/phone everytime a new model comes out so I expect this one and I to have a long relationship together.

I really think I will go and order one. Did you order the colour one or the newest paperwhite? I need some tips/suggestions, thanks in advance!

I didn't get the colour one. I decided the price difference wasn't worth it to me. In 9 years with my other Kindle I never once thought "oh I wish this cover was in colour." So I just got the standard Kindle Paperwhite.
