I personally could see how despite being very different people Daphne and Miles actually brought good things out of each orher and how that could work in the long run, as opposed to Harriet and Wet Blanket who were just awful and didn't make each other any better.

wet blanket is the best way to describe wyn 🤣 and i think your whole post is fair, i just find it a risky move when the final love declaration is a whole thing of how incompatible they are. i also wasn’t entirely sure that he was over his ex, or emhen didn’t really sell it to me that he was. it was far far more enjoyable than happy place overall though, mainly because the supporting cast were so lovely.

I just started Prep last night! I usually enjoy this sort of setting for a book so I’ve high hopes…

Has anyone read number thirty-two by cassie steward? I’m in a bit of a slump, need a break from all the romance etc I read as it gets a bit samey!

I am back in a huge huge reading slump. Not sure if new Paula Hawkins or poor mental health or both is to blame. Probably won’t make my goal of 50 books this year which makes me v v sad. I really tried.

The books were so problematic (fat shaming and whatnot...) but I still really enjoyed them and Darrell is just so lovely and she grew so much over the series which was just wonderful to see. Need to find a new book to read now but not sure what since these were so lovely and I just don't know what I feel like reading next. I will have a think and a nosey on goodreads to find a new read (maybe a Christmas one since we had some snow yesterday and today)

Is it just me that thinks We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker is so overhyped? 🤷‍♀️ It’s put me off reading All the Colours of the Dark.

Currently reading The Housemaid is watching and it is putting me in a reading slump it is so boring. Has anyone read this and does it get better at part two or should I DNF.

Currently reading A Beautiful Spy by Rachel Hore and really enjoying it. I’ve not read as much as last year when I’ve compared but this year seems so much more busy.

It does annoy me when they write characters as if they are younger than what they are supposed to be. I mean a read a book where the child was 3 but the author wrote her as if she was at least 8 years old as she was including words that a 3 year old would not be able to say.

Mead Mishaps, by Kimberley Lemming. They are just silly, fun sort of romance books but verging on bonkers. There are 3 books in the series, easy reads.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy (this was all over tiktok not long ago) it's an ice hockey cum romance book.

Cootonwood Cove series, romance, American small town.

I could picture the cover as soon as I read your post - double checked on Waterstones and is definitely the one I was thinking of. I vaguely remember getting it free with a magazine.. Sugar maybe?!

The scratch isn’t too annoying most of the time but in some lights it does bother me. Did you trade in your old Kindle? If so did you get much for it with the scratched screen?

Does anyone else children have a kids kindle? Finding cheaper books or those included in amazon kids seems tedious. There doesnt seem to be any way to filter kindle deals for kids books.

Ive managed to get the series of unfortunate events series on the amazon kids thing for free and little CF has already read the first 2 so thats perfect and will keep them going for a while.
