I read it a few years ago, I quite liked the ending but
I didn’t enjoy the part about his brief love affair with the young girl

I have today off and I still haven't started a new book since finishing Fourth Wing the other day... struggling to motivate myself to read something else 
Just started on my first Celia Imrie fiction book Not Quite Nice.
I loved her autobiography so thought I'd dip a toe in her fictional work - so nice to realize that you're settling down to a good read.

Finished The writing Retreat today by Julia Bartz. This book seems to be both loved and hated and I get why as it is out there as far as Thrillers go but I really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. It is a little all over the place and has a million twists but did keep me reading to see what would happen next.
That's the only book I've read, tbh it put me off reading any more, I know lots of people love TMC but I found that book a bit silly! I do wonder whether I would have enjoyed it more if I had read them in order though.Starting the bullet that missed - loved Thursday murder club, wasn’t a huge fan of the man who died twice so holding out hopes for this one

I see what you mean. I fell in love with the characters in Book 1 more than the plot itself. I can take or leave the plots but the characters are adorable. I can't really remember much about Book 4 The Last Devil to Die other than getting invested in the characters. I think other books, e.g. Robert Thorogood's Marlow Murder Club series is much better in terms of plot detail, and I love the trio and especially the main character, it works great for me, but something about the TMC characters is endearing and I look forward to the film.

Promised myself that I wouldn't buy any books today so what did I do get 8 books of course. I have to say out of all of them I am looking forward to reading Kick Back and The Little Wartime Library.
Definitely. I think starting with the 3rd book of the series was a big mistake for me! That was only because I found it in a chazza for 10p!

If the little wartime library one is set in a tube station I think I read it but can't remember it!
On the blurb is says this:
