read it in smaller chunks would be my suggestion, or start with something very fast paced and action filled so it holds your attention. also, just don’t let the page amount scare you!How do get over book size intimidation?!
My comfortable amount is 300-400 pages but anything more I'm so put off.
I think as she is personally emailing you/ her fans then she's fine with itDorothy Koomson’s latest book is 99p for today only. She’s actually emailed her mailing list about it. It was only published in Feb! I feel so torn though after our chat about book prices today

My friend bought me Marshmallows for Breakfast for my birthday last year (Dorothy is one of her favourite authors) and it was the book that got me back into reading as I was determined to read my gift straight away rather than stick it on the bookshelf for years like so many others!! It was a bit too character driven for me at the time so I didn’t love it. But I didn’t rule out reading more of her books and the plot sounds good on this one.girl get the bookyou want it and you’re on her mailing list (so you’re obviously a fan)

I’m a big fan of Dorothy Koomson. I always think she’s pretty underrated as I don’t see that many people talking about her books, even though she’s written lots and had a tv adaptation of one too. I agree - buy this one without the guilt and enjoy! My friend bought me Marshmallows for Breakfast for my birthday last year (Dorothy is one of her favourite authors) and it was the book that got me back into reading as I was determined to read my gift straight away rather than stick it on the bookshelf for years like so many others!! I read both. On the kindle I tend to have it on “time left in book” as for some reason seeing the time go down makes it seem less daunting.Do you read physical books or ebooks? Admittedly I am a long book loverbut I use a Kindle and turn off the % read stats etc and just try to focus on the story and not on how far in I am
I’m also happy to take a break from something and read something else for a bit if I feel like somethings dragging or I just fancy something else because I’ve been at this one too long
Ice Cream Girls was on ITV but a good while ago so not sure if it’s till watchable anywhere. Not read this one yet. It looks like her most recent one but it’s now on my TBR!oh which book of hers was a tv adaption?
I bought itI’m wondering if lots of tattlers would enjoy it given social media and sharenting is a large part of the plot. Have you read this one yet?
Mad Honey is a fantastic book. I enjoyed it very much on audio also.Same! I want to read Manacled but it’s 1000 pagesMad Honey is nearly 500 and that’s intimidating me

I set myself a challenge this year to read things I wouldn’t normally, and also longer books. So far, 11% of my reads have been 500+ pages and I’ve found that if I’d enjoy them anyway, it hasn’t bothered me.How do get over book size intimidation?!

I bought it this morning and have zero regrets, she's a great author and I couldn't resist.Dorothy Koomson’s latest book is 99p for today only. She’s actually emailed her mailing list about it. It was only published in Feb! I feel so torn though after our chat about book prices today

constantlyDoes anyone else get cross when reading a book? I read Let Me In by Claire McGowan over the weekend and I was furious with the characters. Weak, scheming and totally unlikeable. There was one surprise character that saved the book for me though so all was not lost.
You have described my feelings on that book in a way I could not. Usually I just go with *internal screaming*i’m thinking in particular of conversations with friends where i wanted a landslide to take that entire villa into the ocean.
I'm a physical book reader, I did buy Binding 13 in the 99p amazon kindle sale to read on my phone then seen the actual size of the book in Waterstones today and just gasped hahaha!!Do you read physical books or ebooks? Thats actually a good idea! Much less daunting, I'll try this thank youAnyway I set a 30 min timer on my ipad and read for that length of time when Im intimidated with a book.

It definitely works for me as 30 minutes isnt that long and even if Im maybe reading a book I dont enjoy I think I can do 30 minutes.I'm a physical book reader, I did buy Binding 13 in the 99p amazon kindle sale to read on my phone then seen the actual size of the book in Waterstones today and just gasped hahaha!!
