How many of you buy actual books compared to books on kindle?

I buy too many of both.

Love my Kindle but I'm a proper book sniffer.

Anyone else love sniffing books???? Love the smell of brand new books, old books, inbetween books....

Hello fellow book lovers I’ve had a weekend away in a lodge with no wifi or signal and it was great! I actually read a booked I liked and read it in 2 days

Here are my August reads (as I won’t finish anything else by the end of today!) Good reading month with 11 books read (I’ve been trying to read 12 one month of the year as that was my initial yearly goal so maybe in September )

AUGUST SUMMARY
Books read: 26
Average rating: 3.28 (SO many 3 stars this month, must be one of the least exciting reading months i've had in ages)

Favourites: A Fate of Wrath and Flame, Things We Leave Unfinished

Least favourite: Booth. Good GOD was that book DULL.

Biggest letdown: either In the Dark by Cara Hunter or The Road Trip by Beth O'Leary. Both by authors I usually love but I didn't like these ones at all.

Biggest surprise: This One Sky Day. This book is BIZARRE but I loved it.

Books #20 Reading Chats.

A quiet weekend for me so finished this month's book club book (overall okay) and then read The Perks of Being a Wallflower (loved it). I'm not sure why I haven't read it before but I really loved it and felt completely absorbed by it. Loved Charlie 🥰

I’ve had a pretty good reading month, with lots of beachy thrillers Adelaide was my favourite book of the month though.

Currently reading Career of Evil but no chance I’ll finish today.

I read 12 books last month. I was late to the party (as always!) with Ask Again, Yes but that is certainly a 5* stand out. Lisa Jewell's None of This Is True was a reliable 4*.

Hungry Ghosts by Kevin Jared Hosein was another good read.

Otherwise a lot of meh.

spent a lovely few hours in waterstones today (well mainly eating red velvet cake in the cafe) but bought more tessa bailey and bellies, which ended up being a signed copy! i blame @Caffeine Fiend completely for both purchases

Read the first of my collection of classics i got from The Works. Started with a short one, Journey to the Centre of the Earth. And god I can understand why it's such a classic, the imagination to come up with such ideas, how timeless the story is. So absorbing and just didn't want to stop reading it. Done it in basically a day, started last night, finished now. It's only short but tells so much so quickly.

old coho is a bit marmite here too (and i will hold my tongue) but it would be boring if we all liked the same thing.

VERY divided opinions here on this one, but I finished Normal People and it left me feeling like my heart is heavy. Only way I can describe it. I think I loved it but then also did I love it? I keep thinking about it though and I did give it 5 stars haha because it moved me

I loved it. Was so much nostalgia for me, I felt that Sally Rooney really nailed that awkward period of high school, first love, mixed communications, being fearful of speaking honestly as youre not sure of the reaction youl get.

When Connell could have asked Marieann if he could stay for the summer and she could have asked him to stay and neither did

Kudos to all you steam rolling through those books. I don't know how you read so many, I only read about 1 or 2 a month

I would read more if I didn’t waste oh so much time online. I’ve no partner or kids and reading is my only way of passing the time. I feel guilty watching anything when I’ve reading I could be doing so I ditched all streaming apps. My concentration is still shocking and I’m famous for forgetting a book the instant I read it. They make minimal impact and really it’s a terrible shame. I don’t even enjoy it anymore, I just feel under pressure to work through my HUNDREDS of unreads as I steadily accumulate more faster than I can keep up. I will never win!
