A quiet weekend for me so finished this month's book club book (overall okay) and then read The Perks of Being a Wallflower (loved it). I'm not sure why I haven't read it before but I really loved it and felt completely absorbed by it. Loved Charlie 🥰

Perks.. is one of my favourite books, so glad you enjoyed it. The film is good too.

Hi! New to the thread 🙋🏻‍♀️
I’m currently reading Trespasses by Louise Kennedy and really enjoying it. Only downside is the lack of “” punctuation, I find myself re reading because I didn’t realise it was someone speaking
Other than that it is very good

I'm in a post Beartown slump! Gave up on Alan Rickman as I didn't realise it was just actual diary entries published  and started on a Bill Bryson I thought I hadn't read instead. Turns out it was just renamed for the American market - good job it was only a 50p charity shop special! What now then? I have 100+ books in my wishlist on Libby, lots available now, but I don't know what I fancy!

I hated that at first too but you do get used to it after a bit!

Just finished Other Peoples Clothes which was strange, slow but not entirely rubbish.

I'm also reading Booth which is incredibly long, slow and dull. I badly need something fast-paced and page turny!

Finished Babel, wasn't a massive fan of this enjoyed it but felt it was also very flawed. Ended up giving it 3 stars. Shame as so many peopled raved about this but I couldn't get on board.

Just starting The Bodyguard by Katherine Center hoping its going to be a cosy, easy read romance.

It takes me a week to read flawless, it was a good book and a book I’d usually give 4 stars as it had wit and banter but you know when you’re going through tit and you don’t want to read fluffy happy endings cos same 😂

I fancy this series but yeah happy ever after romance books arent the one if youre feeling crappy sometimes.

Im reading book 1 of Tessa Baileys broke and beautiful series and its not great. I guess it must be one of her older books

I don't think Tessa Bailey books are good in general. I love a cheesy, cliche romantic fic as much as the next person. I just find Tessa Bailey books don't work, they just feel cringey to me.

Ive only read 3 prior to this but Ive thought they were ok, nothing ground breaking but ok. I think my favourite was hook line and sinker ☺

Ive bought 3 of these though as a set so I'l read them all.

i’m reading my first tessa bailey right now (continuing with my the works challenge for this month 🤣) and it’s……. fine i guess. however the lead guy’s main angst is that he is TOO GOOD LOOKING for life or something and i can’t take it seriously.

did just finish a witch’s guide to fake dating a demon though and it was cute, very smutty in places and overall much better than i expected.

I felt the same about Babel to the point where I feel like everyone who raved about it read a different book to me.

I enjoyed Babel in the beginning but by the last third I was ready for things to move along/ be wrapped up and it just kept dragging on! And then even though I was ready for it to end, I felt like the actual ending was really rushed and not thought through properly!

Basically I’m never happy 🤣

Which one is it? 😆

Oh dear, I stumbled upon Coco Mellors on IG and now I might not like Cleo and Frank quite as much anymore. She’s a bit of a dose and she’s only 34 😭 .

it’s hook, line and sinker (which i now realise is the second in a series 🤣) - i read a little more on the way to work this morning and i do enjoy her easy breezy writing but no man can be THIS good looking 🤣
Ah it was my favourite but 'it happened one summer' sort of drip feeds Fox in before hes the main attraction in the 2nd one. I did prefer HL&S though. Piper annoyed me in IHOS and its supposed to be inspired by Schitts Creek and I loveeee Alexis!!

Oh this is on my TBR!

I've read it Happened One Summer and think I gave it 3.5/4 stars, I did really enjoy it. Not read Hook Line & Sinker yet. I read My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey and omg that was insufferable 😂

i’ll give it a try! while it’s not amazing, i’m enjoying her writing and i get why she does so well in the genre. i love alexis too (and am now going to have 🎶a little bit alexis🎶 in my head all day)
