Not taking up an offer to do a work sponsored degree because my ex husband disapproved, probably because he didn’t have one.
We had two young children and I would have needed his support

I regret not studying harder and had a career rather than a succession of jobs. I have been well paid but the jobs have always been meaningless and unstimulating. I wanted to be a journalist. It was mentioned to my parents that I should apply to do a journalist course.
But on the flip side, one of my biggest regrets is going to uni to do a journalism course. Wish I hadn’t ❤

Fcking up a relationship at 19 by getting too needy and not being 'cool' enough (to be fair, he might have dumped me anyway), all my memories of first love now are tainted, I still think about it and it's nearly 20 years later.

😂

I still have thoughts about these things that happened years ago
Yep, I've matured massively as a person and done so much since then, I'm barely even like the person I was at 19, AND YET i still think of this relationship a few times a week (not always for long, but it pops into my head), I wish we had been able to stay friends

Picking subjects I liked at A level rather than the ones I was good at
Going to uni and doing a course my mum had picked for me rather than what I wanted to do
Not going to college in between sixth form and uni and learning a skill
Not doing something like business management in uni
Staying with a physically abusive dickhead of an ex and getting a CCJ when I was 21
Staying with an emotionally abusive dickhead of an ex and becoming a shell of my former fun self

But everything happens for a reason! If I hadn't of made those decisions I may not have met my (almost!) husband

Not getting a better education. It’s partly my parents fault for sending me to a rubbish school when they could of afforded to pay for a private education. I’m in my 40s now and restricted jobwise because even a lot of basic office jobs ask for a degree qualification, but my age also goes against me now as well.

I can't say I regret anything I've done, I think things happen for a reason so even the bits of my life that have been a bit shit have had something positive come out of them. I fear that I will regret more the things I haven't done rather than the things I have.

I try not to regret anything but here it goes.
College/uni
Letting people get to me
Not listening to my gut
Not having boundaries

This will always be my biggest regret. I had to cancel plans very last minute with my dear brother. We were supposed to head away for the weekend but I mixed up my diary dates. Had I followed through on the plans we had, I am convinced he would still be here today. I feel like that weekend away could of shown him that life is always worth living, I dunno really.

I know what he decided to do next is not my fault, however I don't think I can forgive myself for not going away with him that fateful weekend.
just came across this thread and had to comment on this. Please please forgive yourself I’m sure your brother would not want you to feel guilt Sending you lots of love x

A light hearted one but something I often think about, was seeing a married guy (MG) and was supposed to hook up after work one night but I met a hot young thing and decided to go for a few drinks with him instead, I wasn't really planning on taking it further so told MG where I was going (although not who with) and to call me there to organise a time for him to pick me up, 3 phonecalls later I couldn't really put him off any longer and he came to pick me up, me and hot guy came downstairs and he got in a cab and I got in MGs car, pulled up at lights next to the cab and I honestly nearly jumped out and into the cab, the only thing that stopped me was MG was an amzing shag and I actually thought 'a bird in the hand' Honestly its been nearly 30 years and I still wonder where my life would've ended up but for that.

Loving and respecting certain of my siblings so much. Turns out they were horrible people, from whom I am now estranged.
