A first date a week is hardly an original idea anyway though, I think this backlash from the blogger and her pals is a reach.

I’ve actually read the book and I’ve just had a look at a couple of blog entries and there’s absolutely zero similarities other than the idea of going on a first date every week. That’s it. The book isn’t actually really about that anyway, it’s just the catchy tagline.

also this quote from the blog is cringe as anything:

“2. Taking someone home after a drunken night on the cider does NOT count, otherwise this challenge would just be slutty, and none of us want that do we?!?”

I just had a look back at Bethany's Instagram to see when she started making the earrings and saw that she posted a photo at the end of July with her wearing a pair from a London-based designer that look very similar to the arches that she's been selling. A few days later she started posting her own creations... I'd be pissed off if I was the original designer! They're similar enough that I thought the photo was the first pair she'd made until I read the description (and looked closer - the design and quality are much better!).

French language book? Book written in French language? I don't know how is the correct way. The thing is Amélie Nothomb is Belgian, not French. If you are going to be pompous, be correct at least.

I saw Bethany on the tube once and she gave me the death stare from afar for no reason, I knew I recognised her from somewhere so awkwardly smiled at her which only seemed to make the death stare more intense.

A friend who works in PR said back in Bethany’s queer femme days when she was dating the Swedish guy called Dennis Bethany basically bullied my friend’s company into sending her free stuff otherwise she would have branded them fat-phobic.

🤷‍♀️

Tbh if they fell out then it’s to be expected? It’s a lot better for her to handle whatever complex grief she has in private rather than the cringe inauthentic wooing all the PS influencers did on Grace after exiling her from their friendship group years prior. I respect her right to privately grieve but also respect that she’s doing it privately 🤷🏻‍♀️

This, from an interview in December, is interesting.

Also interesting is the photo that the author used to advertise it on Twitter. It seems that it's been changed to a different one in the blog. Bethany didn't look like this in December.

This is interesting. She's really afraid of backlash if she openly talks about the weightless. But at the same time in the photos she looks pleased about it. It's Schroedingers weightloss - both does and does not exist!

I read the blog and was so ready to be mad at BR…. But, I just can’t be, it’s just so vaguely, distantly unconnected. The concept of doing something weekly for a year cannot belong to this one woman.

I’m sad she’s spent money on actual Lawyers. The legal “pure Coincidence” blurb part she writes about too that’s in Every. Single.Fiction book. 😂😂😂

So there are talented authors who deal with years of rejections and Bethany, who had never even written fiction, just gets handed a book deal? Gross.

I must admit, I'm quite impressed by how much she runs. I probably weigh half of what she does (though I'm also a good half foot shorter than her!) and have had more failed attempts at couch to 5k than I can count.
