My brother and sister in law had a dessert table; it was overflowing with South African pastries (where sis in law is from), desserts they had from a local
Patisserie, various traditional puds and handmade chocolates dotted around - amazing!!

We got married 9yrs ago before everyone was doing vintage 🙄 and I handmade soya, scented candles in teacups that we left on tables for people to take home, plus we had a Krispy Kreme doughnut and sweet table; I know everyone does this now, but we loved it then and still do 😊

One of my favourite things about my wedding was that we had a french fancy (fondant fancy) wedding cake. This picture isn’t my wedding cake but very similar! (I didn’t feel comfortable posting my actual one as I’m quite funny about my privacy and stuff!)

From all the weddings I’ve been too, they’ve all had the standard type wedding cakes (not saying weren’t equally as lovely) but I just wanted something different and quirky. We got so many great comments on it too!

We also had Polaroid cameras dotted around the place which we got some cracking photos from.. would definitely recommend doing that - with some props added too!

My friend had a magician at her wedding to entertain the guests when they were getting their photos done.

Also went to one that had wheels of cheese rather than a tradition wedding cake

I was at a wedding where they had a casino set up while the couple were away getting their photos done, each guest was given currency with the wedding details on it to play with. There was a prize for the eventual winner.

We had a magician at ours. He was fab. He just spent the night going round everyone's tables doing close up magic. I would recommend him to anyone

We had the Trotter’s van with a Del Boy impersonator (hired it as a surprise for OFAH obsessed hubby!) but all the guests appreciated the photo opportunities too!

It had been raining on our friends wedding day and there was a double rainbow. They have a photo of them standing beneath it which was a snapshot taken by another guest as the photographer missed it .

At my wedding we had a flower wall and an instax/Polaroid camera. Whilst we were having photos done my bridesmaids co-ordinated photos of couples/family’s which were then stuck into a plain guest book for each couple/family to write a message or decorate their page. I absolutely love looking through it❤

My nephew's new Mother in law arranged a mega treat for the reception. A waiter came in and was serving the meal along with the staff throughout and during dessert he tripped at the top table and someone went to help him up. They in fact had slipped him a micro phone and he started to sing in operatic Italian. My god he was good and he entertained everyone, had them all singing and then dancing. It was hilarious and really started the reception evening.

My auntie had an outrageously shocking wedding and the faces of her now divorced husbands family were a picture. I didn't think it was a wedding they had in mind.

She had these day glo cyber dreads put in, heavily winged eye make up, a black shawl with skulls on over her normal wedding dress and bright red shoes like Dorothy. Then there was the bouquet which stole the entire show, it was of black blood dipped Rose's with random bits of broken watches, cogs and chains, the odd eyeless dolls head hanging out of it. The reception was like a bleeping halloween party with all the cobwebs.

She was 50 when she married her boyfriend of 14 years, they broke up a week after they got married 🤣

I had a Vegas wedding in a chapel. It was nice, intimate, romantic and yes there was an Elvis impersonator present 🤣

My friends had a cheese and pork pie cake! It was a bit like this one - then it was cut down and made into a giant cheese and meat board for part of the evening snacks, with chuntneys, crackers etc. Amazing!

My cousin had a magician going round doing magic tricks in between courses at theirs, it’s a really good way of creating conversation for people who might not know each other well, also he was amazing!

My friend had street vendors for the food, there was a choice of jacket potatoes, burgers, bacon rolls, hot dogs and then a ice cream van for pudding! She just paid them all a deposit then settled up afterwards. Was amazing!

Another wedding we've been too, everything was personalised, tissue boxes with their pictures in, sweets with their name and wedding date on, wine bottles on the table had their pictures in too and it was a free bar!

The French fancy cake above - that is so good!

My uncle had a ceili (spelling?) dance at his wedding with traditional music. It was fun. I love street food at weddings or any non conventional food set up basically - the sit down meal, speeches etc everyone does is so dull now. It feels like most people follow the same template for their weddings now.

Why wasn't I invited, that looks amazing. I try to control myself, buy always having just one more.
