Laughing at people commenting on R2 FB that this means Zoe has the Strictly job! For a start that wouldn’t happen until September 2026 and clearly she doesn’t want to work weekends. Tess said that Saturdays are long days. Can’t see Zoe wanting to do that!

I can't believe that they rearranged the schedule to give her a prime slot, and then she is off again after a few months.

I wonder if it didn't work for her, or if she wasn't getting the listeners?

Pick of the Pops works surprisingly well in the Sunday Tea slot. Sunday afternoons/evenings are great for fans of older music, Sound of the 70s, PotP and The Golden Hour. But the show should not have been bumped to make way for Ball.

How many times can a person quit their job?

I'm really sympathetic to what Zoe has gone through in her personal life but I wonder if she's not a bit of a HR nightmare in the workplace.

Kate Winslet on Desert Island Discs right now.
As much as a luvvy as you'd imagine so far. Lots of 'aren't I so down to earth' stories interspersed with tears.
Highly entertaining so far for all the wrong reasons.

Lee Child the author was on last week, came across like a total bell-end.

Iain Anderson's final show on Radio Scotland last night was very dignified, Billy Sloan vented a bit of anger at the BBC on his final show & gave the Fortnum & Mason hamper that the BBC sent him for his "long service" to a local FoodBank in Glasgow.

I listen to radio 1 & 2 only because they're ad free, not because they're amazing stations.
The past couple of weeks, aside from xmas bangers, the shows have been dire (imo) especially on R2.

I'm so over Gary Davies, nice bloke, but dreadful 80s beige songs. And heavy reliance on past 'piano room' and 'concert orchestra' replays.

Also Trevor Nelson with niche stuff, rather than catering for a wide audience.

Over here, bravely waving the flag for Gary and Trevor. Best thing about Radio 2, in my opinion 😄
