My step son is 17 and although I do see him slowly maturing mentally, he is definitely still very young and naive. I cannot imagine anyone thinking 17 is not very young! Christ

I agree and I’m not excusing him. I imagine if he ever does release a statement that he will go with the exact same line as PS. At this stage though, I don’t see the evidence that HE has acted as badly as Schofield.

When people use terms like "very young" this is usually in respect of the victim's status as underage and probably prepubescent. In this case, it is more than apparent that nothing untoward happened between the older man and the younger person and that that person was not "very young" when communications started.
If by "very young", you mean "much younger than perp" then I agree with you. There is a difference between the age-gap concerns and the 'victim' as 'very young', which they were clearly not. What would a 12 year old victim be to you? "Very, very, very young"?
If The Sun have got the evidence, they need to go with it - nuclear option.

Also we haven't seen a shred of evidence it's even happened, nor (yet) that HE was involved.
I’m starting to think this maybe the case
I have a suspicion that if The Sun are going to stick by this then they will name him. It's the only obvious escalation, and they don't have a lot to lose at this point, given they're almost certainly getting sued anyway, given the recent revelations.

OK, so this person has, via lawyers, said its all rubbish. However didn't the BBC itself say others have come forward around the same presenter? So surely there's an investigation still needed and the presenter stays suspended?
Have to say this is also my impression, judging by the actual facts out in the public domain (which, by the way, are very very few despite everyone and his uncle stating certain things as fact rather than speculation).
Still hoping he has nothing to do with it all.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m in my 40’s and there is no way on this earth would I go near someone in their teens whether it’s “legal” in the eyes of the law, I don’t care, it gives me the ick.
